your library.db, normally ~/.config/darktable/library.db

if you want to start *clean*:
  rm ~/.config/darktable/library.db
and with no edits, tags, ...
  rm *.xmp

then re-import your images
*all* previous history will be gone.
important: *all* previous history will be gone.

Re: [darktable-user] How to add/tweak support for Olympus OM-D EM5 Mark3

2020-03-08 Thread David Vincent-Jones
It looks OK to me I am not using the 'base-curve' and I do auto
apply some modest primary settings prior to using 'filmic-RGB' so I am
not relying on a specific manufacturers adjustment. The image is a bit
short on  the color spectrum so it is difficult to really judge what
your intentions may have been. A straight forward auto adjust with
filmic was all that I needed.

Hi!

put in to this great piece of software. Ok, now to the issue at hand.

I recently got myself a Olympus OM-D EM5 Mark 3 and all the raw files
it produces have a de-saturated washed out look. No matter how I tweak
the color white balance.  I can't get it to right colors I see IRL.

I'm currently guessing that there some missing information for this
camera? I've checked with both Lightroom and RawTherapee and neither
seem to suffer from this issue.

I've previously used a Sony a6000 and while there was usually a
difference between the jpeg and raw, it wasn't as bad as the current case.

I've read the contents of
https://www.darktable.org/2012/10/whats-involved-with-adding-support-for-new-cameras/
and it seems that I have no choice but to procure a color target and
then process that information.

That being said, according to online reviews and analysis it seems
that the EM5 Mark3 is basically a mini EM1 Mark2. I was wondering if
someone could tell me what I need to "trick" Darktable into treating
raw files from the EM5 Mark3 as originating from EM1 Mark2?

Failing that, is there anything I can do to address this issue? Raw &
jpeg can be found here

[darktable-user] Updating metadata and tags DT 3.O

2020-03-08 Thread J. Verreault
Hi all,
Am trying to redo the info on my pictures but it doesn't seem to be working.
I'm working from the latest Linux Mint w/Mate on a Toshiba Satellite 8gigs
ram blah blah blah...

Here's what I'm doing:

- Delete all .xmp files;
- Untag my pictures;
- Delete tags and branches;
- Chose all pictures (4000+);
- Change the metadata then Apply;
- Update exif on all (which takes a little while).

Once that's all done if I go click on any picture the old info is still
there.
I tried with only doing per folder but still the same result.

What am I doing wrong..?

Thanks for the help.

Re: [darktable-user] In the middle of post-production retouch module fell over

2020-03-08 Thread Andrew Greig

Hah!!

My dilemma is solved, I must have hit the CTRL key instead of the SHFT
key when scrolling the feather size, and inadvertently run the opacity
down to zero, which is why I thought it had stopped working. Back to
being a happy little Vegemite again. (Aussie term for A-OK)

Cheers all

Hi,

I was about an hour into my work, retouch was quick and clean, and
from one frame working to the next frame unresponsive. Nothing unusual
in my work flow, it just stopped working, and so did spot removal
module as well, clone stamp not working. I closed Darktable and
started it up again - no change. I rebooted the machine - no change.
Is there something else I need to do to get it back again?

Darktable 3.0.0   Ubuntu Linux 18.04 LTS

I was talking to a model just this morning about how quick the retouch
module made my work.

I love this product, but I am really surprised that it just stopped
functioning. It did not deteriorate gradually. Working one frame, not
working the next frame.

Cheers
