[darktable-user] 3.4.0: issue with sliders and mouse pointer
On Ubuntu 18.04 with the latest stable package available (v3.4.0~git15.b2a685928) from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/graphics:/darktable:/stable/xUbuntu_18.04 I experience the following issue: when the mouse cursor hovers on an open module, all the sliders of that module moves according to how I move the mouse even though the mouse button (or touchpad button) is NOT pressed. I don't see a way to make this stop and so it is very challenging to use any module. All other controls and buttons of Darkatble work fine, as well as other applications on my laptop. The problem occurs only with the sliders in each module. What is it? Best, Emanuele darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org
Re: [darktable-user] color mapping module makes darktable crush
Hi, For me it works once, depending which I click first *acquire as source* or *acquire as target*. The first selection fills the corresponding tiles, but the second click crashes dt. I tested both with the official 3.4.0 and 3.5.0+229 dev build. Interesting though, when I enable OpenCL 3.4.0 doesn't crash, but my dev build does. -Juha On Mon, 28 Dec 2020 at 22:52, Terry Pinfold wrote: > I never use this module, but when I tested it on version 3.4.0 in Win 10 I > got Darktable shutting down when I pressed on acquire as source. > > Dr Terry Pinfold > Cytometry & Histology Lab Manager > Lecturer in Flow Cytometry > University of Tasmania > 17 Liverpool St, Hobart, 7000 > Ph 6226 4846 or 0408 699053 > -- > *From:* dima...@gmail.com > *Sent:* Tuesday, 29 December 2020 7:09 AM > *To:* darktable-user@lists.darktable.org < > darktable-user@lists.darktable.org> > *Subject:* [darktable-user] color mapping module makes darktable crush > > > Hi, > > I experienced the darktable crush, while using the color mapping module in > version 3.4.0 in Win10. [darktable-user] Does the intels built in gpu use opencl?
Never mind. I found intel-opencl-icd in Synaptics This is the first time I have used anything with a built in GPU in about 20 years. Things have changed a wee bit since then. :) darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org

I never use this module, but when I tested it on version 3.4.0 in Win 10 I got Darktable shutting down when I pressed on acquire as source. Re: [darktable-user] color lookup table
It works as designed: You can change L, a, and b independently since - saturation is no independent parameter in Lab You can enter precise values with right mouseclick on the slider BTW try a look into the manual: https://www.darktable.org/usermanual/en/module-reference/processing-modules/color-look-up-table/ > Am 28.12.2020 um 17:05 schrieb Lorenzo Fontanella > : > > In my opinion, the "color lookup table" module doesn't work as well as it > should. > That is, if I want to change a color at will and after selecting it, I act on > a slider, whether I am working in a relative or absolute way, the sliders > move at the same time and this does not allow you to perform or find a > precise variation. > Furthermore, is there the possibility to select an initial color with the > eyedropper and always define another final color using the eyedropper? maybe > taken from another photo? > Lorenzo Fontanella > > > > darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to > darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org > = darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org
Re: [darktable-user] Darktable is slow
usually opencl isn’t activated on osx since there might be issues with intel graphics. But you can activate it in the preferences - if opencl is available on your machine. Maybe you further need to tweak your opencl settings (see https://www.darktable.org/usermanual/en/special-topics/opencl/) Sometimes it needs several darktable starts to build all opencl kernels ... > Am 28.12.2020 um 19:09 schrieb Ronald Fleischer : > > > Hi ! > > I am pretty fresh to Darktable, just installed 3.4, first it all went fine, > now nearly evrything i do in Processing leads to waiting, the CP runs hot > etc. > > I am using an old Macbook Pro 17 from 2011 with High Sierra on it with 16 GB > memory. > > That could be it, but it was fine yesterday, so I am a bit confused. > > I thought of starting totally fresh and install the Program new, but that did > not work (is there a way to reset the settings ?) > > Still maybe its just the old Laptop but well, maybe someone has an idea ? > > > > > darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to > darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org
Re: [darktable-user] Darktable is slow
If you want to start fresh, exit darktable, move the "/Users//.config/darktable" directory to darktable.old, then start darktable, set up your settings, and reimport your photos. Your edits will be preserved, but you will lose any presets and styles you may have defined. [darktable-user] Darktable is slow
Hi ! I am pretty fresh to Darktable, just installed 3.4, first it all went fine, now nearly evrything i do in Processing leads to waiting, the CP runs hot etc. I am using an old Macbook Pro 17 from 2011 with High Sierra on it with 16 GB memory. That could be it, but it was fine yesterday, so I am a bit confused. I thought of starting totally fresh and install the Program new, but that did not work (is there a way to reset the settings ?) Still maybe its just the old Laptop but well, maybe someone has an idea ? darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org
[darktable-user] color lookup table
In my opinion, the "color lookup table" module doesn't work as well as it should. That is, if I want to change a color at will and after selecting it, I act on a slider, whether I am working in a relative or absolute way, the sliders move at the same time and this does not allow you to perform or find a precise variation. Furthermore, is there the possibility to select an initial color with the eyedropper and always define another final color using the eyedropper? maybe taken from another photo?
