When a GPS-device has been switched off, moved to another location and
switched on it needs some minutes to fix all "visible" sattelites and
reach a good precision.

When a GPS-devices has not been switched on for a longer time, it needs
to "download" some long term data (almanache) from the sattelites.

This may take some time.

2021-01-28 Thread August Schwerdfeger
This is probably unrelated to David's issue, but I have noticed in the
last few Darktable versions (up to 3.2.1) that images as rendered on the
map are mislocated by a /consistent/ amount no matter what map source is
used -- ranging from a few hundred feet when the map is zoomed in as far
as it will go, to about 1,000 miles when fully zoomed out. Has anyone
else noticed this?
