So, at my CPAN mirror (mirrors.kernel.org), DBI 1.609 is already available -
I installed it before today (like the day it was announced, I think). I
suggest checking your CPAN mirror, and maybe trying a different one.

My question still stands -
given the following: as of Sun Jun 14 13:34:01 PDT 2009
cpan[3] install DBI
DBI is up to date (1.608). == !=1.609
What is the general/average lead/follow-up time for the install to be
rolled up into cpan[n] install ??
