Currently gather_evaluate is a replacement for the combination of read_dof_values() and evaluate(), but it can not be used if one has to use read_dof_values_plain() instead. Therefore I was wondering if it was not implemented simply due to a lack of time, or because it is more difficult to implement it for that use case? Thanks!
