It is a cabin ban, so it is still possible to put a laptop in checked
luggage.

I'm going by car from CCC to DebConf and should have room for at least
2 persons + luggage. Given that only 6 people are currently interested
in transport, just renting a normal car that would fit 4 persons with
luggage might also be an option.
