What about two weeks debcamp? :)

You're not the first one suggesting this over the years. :)

I really appreciate that DebConf is two weeks long, because for me not
only it added a slow(er) move towards the week with talks, but also it
gives you opportunity to get integrated and feel the community.

That is what, for me personally, separates DebConfs from many other
conferences - it feels like community gathering rather than like a work.

Maybe some re-organization needs to happen for DebConf part to feel it
more relaxed, maybe more ad-hoc with shorter sessions that are then
encouraged to go into longer sessions in rooms/hacklabs, but please keep
the DebCamp part. :)

Cheers,

Z

P.S. depending on $LOCATION and $LIFE, I would be happy to help in
organization

Leaving today at ~6pm

Hi all,

I am leaving today for TPE (international airport) and I plan to have a
cab from MIRC to it, so anyone is free to join and share the ride. I
will go around 6 (I can do it close to 7)pm.

With regards,

So, I guess ping me around 9.30pm so we setup all here in noisy hacklab
and get some music playing around :)

Having some party/music tomorrow night

2018-08-02 Thread Zlatan Todoric
Hi,

I felt that lack of music (or possibility to have decent party here) is
kinda bad but maybe only my subjective feeling though it seems many
people feel the same. We are coming to close, so getting some speakers,
having some music (where people can change it because all of us don't
have same music taste, surprise surprise) and just dance, chill, talk -
basically have some different fun (compared to playing cards etc) would
be really nice I think.

If we can't get speakers, I guess I can buy some small ones. I was
thinking to set this outside (during night) but then I recalled the cool
humidity - so if there is chance to have some room at the venue would be
really cool (in all senses of this word), or at least permission to do
it in dorms or outside somewhere (yes even in that humidity) would be okay.

It doesn't need to be any raving (though there is my heart), but
chilling with music, being able to dance and chat with folks would be a
nice way to remember this debconf and also distress a bit more before we
return to "real" life.

What do others think, should and can we do this?

Bday and beers

2018-07-23 Thread Zlatan Todoric
Hi all,

today is my birthday (30th) and I will be buying soon(ish) some beer in
a store and bring it to noisy hacklab so we can celebrate and talk about
getting older, being closer to death every year (heck every day!) and
pretend there were some good old times. I would like this basically to
be pure socializing where people share some of their interesting stories
from past (I can explain again how I was "stealing" food from female
students during my life in dorms as student etc) but of course, no one
is forced to do anything!

Cheers!

RISC-V board for play

2018-07-23 Thread Zlatan Todoric
Hi,

I have RISC-V board with me (the Unleashed) so if anyone is interested
they can take it and play with it (and share with others) just make it
sure you don't loose it somewhere as it is still my toy :)

Just catch me somewhere in the venue or send me private mail if you're
interested in it.
