getting the cd1 installer with nonfree firmware

2017-04-14 Thread Amir-Trend Plus
Hi,
i think i now know what is my problem. The driver for my wifi card is
nont detected with the default debian cd1,650 mb. So, is there any way
to use that cd along with the all nonfree firmware? I tried the
netinst unofficial nonfree firmware, but my connection is not too
stable,so cannot install it. So please, any way to get this installed
offline using the cd1 iso, and then add the nonfree firmware to the
installer? all nonfree firmware because, i dont know what is the
firmware needed by my laptop.

Re: guide for installing debian using the command line

2017-04-10 Thread Amir-Trend Plus
Hi,
ok i am confused!
let me tell you again the story,
the laptop that will be installed with debian does not have internet
connected, because it uss wifi instead of land connection.
so, first i downloaded the debian 650 cd image, cd1. and then burn and
boot it, at the beep i press s and enter.
speech came, so i install until, the network connection problem, described here,
begin text:
4.2.8. Configuring the Network
Eager to automate the process as much as possible, the installer
attempts an automatic DHCP network configuration. If this fails, it
offers more choices: try again with a normal DHCP configuration,
attempt DHCP configuration by declaring the name of the machine, or
set up a static network configuration.
This last option requires an IP address, a subnet mask, an IP address
for a potential gateway, a machine name, and a domain name.

TIP Configuration without DHCP
If the local network is equipped with a DHCP server that you do not
wish to use because you prefer to define a static IP address for the
machine during installation, you can add the netcfg/use_dhcp=false
option when booting from the CD-ROM. You just need to go to the
desired menu entry by pressing the TAB key and add the desired option
before pressing the Enter key.

BEWARE Do not improvise
Many local area networks are based on an implicit assumption that all
machines can be trusted, and inadequate configuration of a single
computer will often perturb the whole network. As a result, do not
connect your machine to a network without first agreeing with its
administrator on the appropriate settings (for example, the IP
address, netmask, and broadcast address).
end text.
i cannot skip this, it fail because no wifi present, so should i
connect to wifi network or, skip this and setup later? If skipping,
how to do that?
or maybe since this is cd version, the packages are not complete. I
only have 1 usb drive, and i can download all of them, maybe, but
only one iso can be booted at a time.
sorry and thanks

can i take the new espeak-ng and speech-dispatchee from debian accessibility and install to vinux?

2017-04-09 Thread Amir-Trend Plus
Hi,
i want to install debian but i am a new user, so i dont know how to
get it installed. last time i tried, it was stucked at the network
issue, since my pc is using wifi and not land connection. So, i
decided to use vinux, until the live cd installer gets accessible,
because i prefer installing from graphical user interface, unless
there is a way to install using the command line, for computers that
use wifi only. the question is, can i use the package espeak-ng and
speech-dispatcher uploaded to debian and install them to vinux 5.1
witch is based on ubuntu 14.04.5? the speech-dispatcher on debian is
0.86 and vinux is 0.85, and the espeak-ng on vinux cannot work with
this speech-dispatcher. also, i think there is a new version of
espeak-ng uploaded to debian server, but it is for 64 bit, and my
vinux is for 32 bit. so, let's say if the 32 bit package gets
available, where can i go and download the .deb packages for
speech-dispatcher_0.8.6 and espeak-ng and install it to my vinux?
thanks

Re: live system during install and debian mate

2017-04-03 Thread Amir-Trend Plus
hi,
is it true the graphical installer is not accessible? hen why one needs live
system iso? and is it true for all debian versions? i am downloading the debian
8 latest live. the problem now, using the cd installer, 650 mb, i cannot skip
the connection prompt. i am a beginner user, thats why i don't know how to
configure network using the terminal. i heard vinux was based on debian yeeaars
ago, vinux 2 i think, that means that the installer was accessible at that
time. or, maybe i understand it uncorrectly?

live system during install and debian mate

2017-04-03 Thread Amir-Trend Plus
Hi,
sorry, but i am puzzled.
according to this,
"The gnome liveCD has screen reader support. At the boot menu, one has
to type enter (TODO: add beep). Then the desktop launches up (TODO:
add beep), and one can press super-alt-s to start Orca."
from the debian accessibility, but when i did the same, nothing
happens, i heard the first beep, and i hit enter, and waited for
several times, but no beep, but i press alt+super+s, and nothing.
maybe it is stucked when loading live desktop? but if at the first
beep, i press s and enter, it will load the terminal, pseak up came. i
dont want terminal install, i am a nubi. i want the graphical
installer, similar to ubuntu or vinux. the installer i used, 650 mb,
was,
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/i386/iso-cd/debian-8.7.1-i386-CD-1.iso
but just now i did find the live installer, 999 mb, in size. Is that
the one i should use?
it has a lot of desktops, i chose mate desktop, so is it the one? any
steps required in order to use debian with mate instead of gnome?

new user starting up, where can i download the accessible installer for debian and the quick start guide?

Hi,
someone told me that debian is accessible for the blind, but i am a
new user so i am quite afraid to try it before someone confirms it.
so, if i wanto to try debian, where can i get the accessible installer
so that i can install and try? also, when reading from debian
accessibility webpage, it said if someone complains about problem in
debian installer, not acessible, they should send the url where they
download the installer, it makes me worry to try and error, since my
connection is not good and it will waste my connection and time
downloading the not accessible installer. besides that webpage, is
there any special page for new debian users, or linux users in general
who are blind?
thanks and sorry!
