Re: mpm-itk and mod_fcgid
2013/7/28 AZ 9901 az9...@gmail.com: Hello all, I run into troubles using mod_fcgid (for PHP) and mpm-itk together. I use Debian stable version / Apache 2.2.22. As soon as I add the ITK directive AssignUserID to my vhost, specifying a different user than the global Apache one, mod_fcgid fails returning the following error : [Sun Jul 28 15:09:37 2013] [emerg] [client x.x.x.x] (13)Permission denied: mod_fcgid: can't lock process table in pid 1973 I noted that the socket file is created with permissions 700. So, as a test, I tried the following, in fcgid_proc_unix.c, I replaced : rv = apr_file_perms_set(unix_addr.sun_path, APR_FPROT_UREAD|APR_FPROT_UWRITE|APR_FPROT_UEXECUTE); by : rv = apr_file_perms_set(unix_addr.sun_path, APR_FPROT_UREAD|APR_FPROT_UWRITE|APR_FPROT_UEXECUTE|APR_FPROT_GREAD|APR_FPROT_GWRITE|APR_FPROT_GEXECUTE|APR_FPROT_WREAD|APR_FPROT_WWRITE|APR_FPROT_WEXECUTE); The socket is then created with 777 permissions, but it does not solve the issue. Certainly that the issue is somewhere else, perhaps Apache tries to instance mod_fcgid with global Apache user instead of ITK defined user. Could you help me with that ? Perhaps a patch already exists ? Hello, I also tested with unstable (SID) packages / Apache 2.4.6, same issue. Do I need to open a bug report ? Into ApacheSF Bugzilla ? https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/ To Debian Apache ? http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?repeatmerged=nosrc=apache2 To Debian mod-fcgid ? http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?repeatmerged=nosrc=libapache2-mod-fcgid Thank you very much ! Do I need to open a bug report ? Into ApacheSF Bugzilla ? In general, you should take problems like this to users' lists instead of Cc-ing every Debian developer you can find. That being said, mod_fcgid and mpm-itk are known to be incompatible; a quick search on the Web digs up e.g. http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=021801ce1169%248c5aeb10%24a510c130%24%40unimx.deforum_name=mod-fcgid-users Steinar, thank you very much for your answer ! Yes I already saw that this issue were encountered using mod_fcgid and mpm-itk together. This is why I wrote to dev instead of users, thinking that some dev / patch is required to correct it. I doubt that opening a bug would do much to remedy the situation, unless it included a patch fixing the problem in a reasonable fashion. Were do you advise me to open a bug report ? Directly to ApacheSF Bugzilla ? Would be very useful / really great if mod_fcgid and mpm-itk could work together :-) Once again, thank you very much ! My point was that opening a bug report would _not_ be very useful, since the problem is already well-known, and presumably hard to fix. But if you really want to do so, http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/ is probably the right place, yes; there's nothing mpm-itk can do about this, so any change would need to be in mod_fcgid. You may want to make the name in your account something more descriptive than “AZ 9901”, too. /* Steinar */ -- Homepage: http://www.sesse.net/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-apache-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#698787: apache2-mpm-worker multiarch install problem on Debian Wheezy amd64
reassign 698787 ssl-cert retitle 698787 ssl-cert: Please mark Multi-Arch: foreign thanks It looks to me that this is more a problem with mime-support and ssl-cert packages that were not flaged as supporting multi-arch.
