Debian 5.0 armel installation question
Hi, I'm trying to install Debian 5.0 armel edition on OpenRISC Alekto system This system is based on KS8695 SoC. Here is uname -m output armv4tl For Etch I used initrd.gz from netwinder, but as far as I understand it supports only ARM and not EABI ARM. I need a cdrom installer and not the netboot one. What were the best way to install Lenny on my device? Thank you in advance. Best regards, Yegor -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-arm-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Re: Debian 5.0 armel installation question
Dear Sujit, thank you for the quick answer. As far as I understand you mean these images http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/lenny/main/installer-armel/current/images/. But none of them is cdrom image as this one http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/lenny/main/installer-arm/current/images/netwinder/cdrom/. The best way were to change the existing cdrom installer for netwinder so that it takes armel DVD and installs those packages. Re: Debian 5.0 armel installation question
First trap versatile image is initramfs and not initrd. So I integrated the cpio archive into my kernel and booted the Debian installer. But it is really netboot. The first thing it makes is to detect network hardware. Then networking will be configured so first packages are downloaded from one of the mirrors. I don't find any option to make installation from the CD/DVD. What is the main difference between cdrom and netboot versions? Can it be configured within cpio via changing some scripts or so?
