Noted, thanks.

And yes, I still think it's really really wrong to have blends-tasks have
"priority: important" which makes it getting installed by each and every
debootstrap run by default.

https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-archive.html#s-priorities

(And I'm really in no good position/mood/whatever to argue this any
further. To me this issue is very very clear and I'm sometimes not good
argueing issues which I think are very very clear.)

Thus, the reassign.

src:blends 0.6.93 uploaded on 09 Apr 2016 introduced a new binary
package, blends-dev, with "priority: important", causing it to be
installed on *all* systems by debootstrap by default.

https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-archive.html#s-priorities is
quite clear what important packages are, and IMO blends-dev clearly
doesnt qualify as "noone expects it."

IMO blends-tasks rather should be of priority: optional.

Dear tech-ctte, please clarify. I don't have the time nor energy for
bts-ping-pong, but Ole said he is going to close this bug soon (in
addition to setting the severity to "normal") and closing this bug
without changing the priority would just be wrong, IMO.

Thanks. (And sorry for my lack of patience here.)

(I'm also not sure who has the final say on definining priorities, the
ftpmasters maybe? Feel free to swiftly re-assign there.)

I'm sorry that I failed to respond yet.

Still, this doesnt make a policy violation a non-policy violation.
(Priority: important is *wrong* for this package.)

You are forcing the installation of blends-tasks on every Debian
system. This is *not ok*.

I will try to reply ASAP, but… I might fail and just reassign to
tech-ctte. (I also find it very hard to find time for this as you failed
to understand the problem with the current implementation from the
beginning, so I'm doubtful whether trying again (for like the 4th or 5th
time will change anything.)

And regarding the blends task selection itself, it has been discussed
in d-i to just blacklist blends-tasks or to remove the feature which
allows to drop tasks into tasksel like this. I'm really not the only
one thinking that this blends selection menu in the default installation
is a no-go as it is.

Bug#846002: Lowering severity

Control: Severity -1 normal

Since no objections against my proposal were expressed for a week, I am
lowering the severity.

Since there is no update of the bug report with more recent experiences,
I will to close it as of version 0.6.94 within a few days.

Best regards
