Re: A Hitchhiker Guide to "rescue.bin"
Hello: Thank you very much for the tips to read "Chapter 10 - Technical Information on the Boot Floppies" of the "Installing Debian GNU/ Linux 3.0 For Intel x86" guide! That was exactly what I was looking for. Meanwhile, I have also installed the "boot-floppies" package. I tried "make check"; unfortunately I could not install all packages into a "sarge" system. Fortunately, there was no problem on a "woody" one. Next, after making a slight modification of the config file, it failed to do "make release" because it could not find the appropriate pcmcia-2.2.20 module (./kernel.sh). May I know where to get the related packages that works for the "boot-floppies" package? regards, -- Rahmat M. I didn't know what we were waiting for, I was just waiting. What should I say? Bug#200512: kernel-installer: Probably a kernel-image* bug
Package: kernel-installer Version: 0.023 (not installed) Followup-For: Bug #200512 I did the following: On a freshly installed system, I did an apt-get remove --purge kernel-image-* to delete the kernel. The symlinks in / were deleted, too. After that I just installed it again with apt-get and the initrd.img symlink was still not pointing to the initrd in /boot. Therefore this seems to be a kernel-image-* problem. Can somebody please confirm this? -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux coyote 2.4.20 #1 Fri Jun 13 19:12:09 CEST 2003 i686 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#200640: autopartkit: should warn always about the risk of using it
Package: autopartkit Version: unavailable; reported 2003-07-09 Severity: normal I think the message displayed below should be printed even when the debconf priority is "critical" because it can (will) break the system, well, not the system you are installing, but the installed system. According to debconf-devel(7) for me it's clear: critical: Items that will probably break the system without user intervention. Are you sure you want to automatically partition the disk ? This will destroy the partition table on all disks in the machine. REPEAT: THIS WILL WIPE CLEAN ALL HARD DISKS IN THE MACHINE! If you have important data that are not backed up, you may want to stop now in order to do a backup. In that case, you'll have to restart the installation later. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux nahoo 2.4.21-1-686 #2 Mon Jun 16 22:13:09 EST 2003 i686 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Finnish translation of boot-floppies/utilities/dbootstrap
Hi, the Finnish translation of dbootstrap can be found in the following location. http://oma.ajatus.org/habazi/debian/dbootstrap/fi.po http://oma.ajatus.org/habazi/debian/dbootstrap/finnish.src I have updated many of the old translations and translated the untranslated messages. I also created the missing finnish.src. I'm not quite sure what the arch-parameter is for in the language variant item. I made it. Please correct me if this is wrong.
