Bug#580265: Failed netinst

2010-05-05 Thread Frans Pop

thanks

 Comments/Problems:

Did not find my e1000e network interface, even after selecting it
explicitly from the list. After installing without using a net
connection, a simple modprobe e1000e and dhclient made the net
connection work. The following were added automaticly to /etc/modules
 by the installation:

 e100
 e1000
 e1000e

But booting with these in /etc/modules did not make the network
interface work. Had to do modprobe e1000e manually after each boot.

This sounds like a kernel issue. Reassigning to the kernel team.

Cheers,
FJP

Bug#580340: debian-installer: Lenny fails to install on system with USB and SATA disks

2010-05-05 Thread Michal Suchanek
Package: debian-installer
Severity: normal

I installed Debian Lenny on a system with a SATA hardrive and a built-in
USB card reader. As the card reader driver is loaded before the SATA drivers
during installation and after SATA driver during boot the instaleed system
fails to boot searching for root in one of the card reader slots.

Higher autobuilding frequency?

2010-05-05 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Hi,

I've noticed e.g. amd64 is only built once a day, meaning one can have
to wait a whole day between a bugfix in a package and being able to
test the resulting image (you might have guessed I'm talking about
udev/g-i here). I've just asked buildd admins, and they said “why not
if it's useful to d-i?”.

I believe at least amd64 would benefit from a higher autobuilding
frequency. Twice a day would be great. I'm not sure 4 times a day
would be needed or useful, but that could.

Keeping Andi Cc'd with your wishes should do the trick (and some
scripts in svn might need some updating accordingly AFAICT). ;)

Mraw,
KiBi.

Package: win32-loader

Hi. Loading kfreebsd from win32-loader is simple, I made this patch based
on grub.cfg from the D-I images.

Sorry I don't know about NSIS part, but if the files are in C:/win32-loader/
it should boot.
