Hi all,

I really enjoyed this work. Congratulations!
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianArt/Themes/Lines

Let me know how I can help. Adjusting the artwork for format and
dimensions. We will also prioritize the use of the SVG format that is
scalable.

Great,

Ahh, sorry for leaving out EzGo in the list given in my initial bug report.

What I really meant is:

   1. Do you think Blends should be listed by tasksel at installation time.
   2. Do you want to be Debian EzGo added to this list.

Kind regards

 Andreas.

if you can't give a technical reason why the newer version of syslinux
should be kept out of testing i will close the bug again.

Oops, sorry about that. I think that's probably ok. I'm not sure what

discover hasn't been touched in a while (and isn't even maintained in a
VCS apparently), so you might want to investigate preparing an NMU here.

Bug#759442: discover: run dh-autoreconf to update for new architectures

2014-08-27 Thread Wookey
Package: discover
Version: 2.1.2-5.2
Severity: normal
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertag: arm64

This package failed to build on arm64. Here is the buildd log:
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=discover&arch=arm64&ver=2.1.2-5.2&stamp=1408296386.

It is one of hundreds of packages which need autoconf updates in order
to build on new architectures such as arm64, mips64el, ppc64el and
or1k. Re-autoconfing is the recommended way to deal with the general
case of this problem in Debian, as it works now and in the future, and
ensures packages remain buildable from source. This page (
https://wiki.debian.org/Autoreconf ) contains information on this
issue, and details for maintainers on how to update their packages:

The porter teams are working hard to get the new architectures ready
for jessie, and time is short, so do please try to fix this issue
promptly. It's often trivial to do.

I can confirm this as I imported d-i snapshots from git into Kali to cope
with new upstream kernels that we imported too. Sometimes subsequent fix to
kernel udebs were required but apart from that, it's been working well for
us.

You will need to mention that the USB stick cannot be used to install

Why do you think only this is would make sense? IMHO it would make
perfectly sense to feed a freshly installed box with educational
software.

Kind regards

  Andreas.

Bug#759428: d-i manual: non-US is no longer existing, so there is also no "export-restricted" software

2014-08-27 Thread Holger Wansing
Package: installation-guide
Tags: patch

Hi,

in http://d-i.debian.org/manual/en.i386/ch08s03.html
the manual mentions "export-restricted packages" (in reference to
contrib and non-free). This is a left-over from non-US I think.
Should be changed just into "restricted".

One of the best installation methods is apt. You can use the command
line version apt-get or full-screen text version
aptitude. Note apt will also let you merge
-main, contrib, and non-free so you can have export-restricted packages
+main, contrib, and non-free so you can have restricted packages
 as well as standard versions.

Cheers
Holger

Bug#758116: Please be verbose whether you would like to get your Blend promoted by tasksel

2014-08-27 Thread Mike Gabriel

Hi Andreas,

[taking all lists except debian-blends and debian-edu off the loop...]

On Di 26 Aug 2014 13:27:23 CEST, Andreas Tille wrote:

Hi,

yesterday I joined the videostream of the installer BoF at DebConf[1].
I also became a bit involved via IRC. Joey Hess raised the question
about the criteria to add a Blend or not. I answered "all in the list
of the bug report #758116" which IMHO fits the criterion of "actively
maintained and some valuable content for users".

I think it should be also a criterion that the team behind the Blend
confirms that they are interested and so I'm hereby pinging all lists in
question to ask you for confirmation. I have set Reply-To to the bug
report and the general Blends list in case you are interested in further
discussion with other Blends.

Any input is welcome to make sure users will realise the fruits of your
great work at the earliest point in time.

Kind regards

 Andreas.

I guess this only makes sense if a Debian Edu machine (standalone) can
be installed via Debian's normal D-I, right?

@Petter: is that possible? Do you know?

Mike
