Given the list of affected packages is short (and it's all about
tzdata IIRC), how about we wait until that list is down to zero (and
if you have time, maybe you could help with that?), and then merge
this change? That way we don't add instability, and fix the issue at
the same time.

Hi,

As far as I can tell this was already reported in bug #860467.

Cheers,
Julien

Bug#1053751: d-i.debian.org: security repo being set up with HTTP even if HTTPS is selected

2023-10-10 Thread Viktor Voloshko
Package: d-i.debian.org
Severity: normal
Tags: d-i
X-Debbugs-Cc: viktor.volos...@outlook.com

Dear Maintainer,
debian-installer has a choice between HTTP/HTTPS/FTP while setting up package
manager in expert install mode.

If HTTPS is chosen and security repository enabled it will be added to
/etc/apt/sources.list with http:// as it's protocol instead of https:// (may be
same with FTP too, I didn't have a chance to check it).

Every other mirror was added with https:// as expected. This includes bookworm,
bookworm-updates and bookworm-backports.

This can be easily fixed later in installed system by editing
/etc/apt/sources.list without any consequences.

Thank you for attention.
