Bug#584973: So, no Cherry Support?
Hi, I'm not sure if I understand your statement correctly. Otavio wrote: We will try to not update kernel udebs for rc2 except if something critical is discovered. So it will wait for 6.0.1. Does this mean that everyone owning a Cherry keyboard will not be able to install Debian 6 until version 6.0.1 comes out? IMHO this _is_ kinda critical. Cherry is one of the world's oldest keyboard manufacturers. The Cherry homepage even says that in Germany over half of office desks are equipped with Cherry keyboards... I don't know how far they are spread over the world, but it feels like a lot of people might have to wait even longer for their long awaited Debian release. Bug#584973: Cherry G230 keyboard freezes on language selection
I'm having the same problem with a Cherry G230 keyboard and either rc-1 and the daily build 2011-01-14 i386 netinstall CDs. I can choose to install at boot, but as soon as the language selection is displayed, the keyboard freezes. AFAIK Cherry keyboards are quite popular, so the hid-cherry module really is required.
