Bug#385785: installation failure
On Sunday 03 September 2006 04:48, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Comments/Problems: Burned .iso with Nero 6 in Win2000; Nero reported CD was ok after verification stage. I used boot parameter to force static IP. NIC was not detected (SMC 1211TX = RTL8139). That is expected as the NIC can only be configured after additional components have been loaded from the CD. Installer reported CD files could not be loaded. Seems you have two CD drives. Did you try switching the CD to the other drive? What was the exact error? Please also check, after switching to VT2, the output of 'dmesg' and the contents of /var/log/syslog (using nano as editor). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Comments/Problems: Burned .iso with Nero 6 in Win2000; Nero reported CD was ok after verification stage. I used boot parameter to force static IP. NIC was not detected (SMC 1211TX = RTL8139). Installer reported CD files could not be loaded. Installation attempt aborted. What interface does your CD drive use? Can you provide us with relevant log parts from console 4? Can you run (lspci ; lspci -n)|sort on that machine (maybe with another Linux Live CD or directly from the installer console 2) ? Then send us the output relevant to your NIC and the interface your CD is attached on. Please respect Reply-To signature.asc Description: Digital signature
