[win32-loader] Installation difficulties.

2008-11-06 Thread Ahren J. Bohmrich

Hello,

I recently downloaded and installed the win32-loader from goodbye-microsoft.

I ran the program from Windows XP Home SP3 on my HP Pavilion zv5000
laptop computer.

Upon reboot, after selecting the option to run the installer, a no
module found error appeared, followed by another error and the system
resetting.

I tried once more, before running the installer from windows again in
repair mode, then rebooting for the same result.

How do I either get the boot installer to run properly, or at least
remove it from my system?

Thanks,

Ahren B.

Installation difficulties

2003-06-27 Thread Sam Steel
Dear folks,

In trying to install my new copy of Woody ( which I received today) I
repeatedly got the message debootstrap exited with an error (return value 1)

I have tried installing on two machines, neither of very high quality, with
the same result.

I am not able to boot up the machine, so my ability to diagnose the problem
is limited.

Thanks for any help you might provide.

Sam Steel

PS One machine is a Wal-Mart Lindows $200 device, and the other is an old
Pentium at 166 MHz.

You should be able to use a shell by pressing alt-f2 to switch the
virtual terminal.

You should be able to diagnose the problem.

I think there might be something stale in /target/var/cache/, causing your problem.
