I actually hadn't noticed the mail, since both debian-boot and
debian-hurd mails fall into the same Debian mbox on my computer, and the
title wasn't enough to catch my eye.

Concerning hurd-i386 that's not a problem, we have never had an eject
package.

Feel free to go ahead.

(I'd want to see #956612 addressed before the next alpha release, and
I don't know when it's going to happen; as a consequence, I don't have
any specific schedule that could be disrupted by this change.)

We didn't hear anything from porters since 2017.

Would it be a good or a bad time to do the udeb changes soon?
