Could you please add it as an alternative dependency for libdbd-mysql-perl? The attached patch would insert the dependency like: libmariadbclient-dev | libmysqlclient-dev This change will automatically result in correct dependencies for the non-build version as well. I built the package on my own computer, so the patch is tested to work.
