Bug#315877: ITP: initng -- next generation init system

2005-06-27 Thread Andreas Fester

Hi,

I read about this a few days ago and also thought about
looking at it.
Do you have a preliminary package ready yet? If you need
someone to test it, I would like to :-)

Regards,

Andreas

Bug#315839: babel support for vietnamese?

2005-06-27 Thread Werner LEMBERG

a user of our Debian teTeX packages (which are still 2.0.2 in
unstable) asked about the TeX support of vietnamese. It seems there
 is one file already [...]

Of course, this file is also in teTeX 3.0 which is currently only in
 Debian experimental.

Right now we are preparing a new VnTeX package to be included in the
next TeXLive release. Have a look at vntex.sf.net for beta versions
-- testers welcome!

But why isn't it in the babel directory?

Because it's not part of the Babel package.

And can one call \usepackage[vietnamese]{babel} anyway?

Actually, it is

  \usepackage[vietnam]{babel}

Bug#315921: bugzilla should depend on patch

2005-06-27 Thread Jim Barber

Package: bugzilla
Version: 2.18-6

I upgraded bugzilla from 2.16.7 to 2.18
When the post install stage ran, it dumped some errors about the patch command not being found and left the bugzilla package
unconfigured.

I installed the patch 2.5.9-2 package and then the bugzilla configuration
completed successfully.
Because postinstall relies on the use of patch, then it should really be a
dependency of the bugzilla package.

Bug#315918: Home page link in footer not working

2005-06-27 Thread Jim Barber

Package: bugzilla
Version: 2.18-6

The default Home link in the Actions: section of the footer points at %urlbase% which on my system is setup as
http://bugzilla.ddihealth.com/cgi-bin/bugzilla/;

When selecting this link, I recieve the following error:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/bugzilla/ on this server.

I have tried this with both apache_1.3.33-6 and apache2_2.0.54-4 and get the
same result.
As far as I could tell both versions of apache were configured to look for
index.cgi files.
As to why they aren't finding the index.cgi file, I can only guess it has
something to do with the path being in a cgi-bin area?
Both versions of Apache were as configured by the Debian packages.

In the end, to fix it, I had to modify the bugzilla template so that the
index.cgi was explicitly used in the URL.
I edited
/usr/share/bugzilla/template/en/default/global/useful-links.html.tmpl and
changed line 33...

from:
a href=[% Param('urlbase') %]Home/a |
to:
a href=[% Param('urlbase') %]index.cgiHome/a |

I'm not sure if this is the correct fix, but hopefully the problem can be resolved so that bugzilla will work as installed without
any tweaks necessary.

Yes. My upload of libslang2 2.0.4, which was supposed to go into the

So we need an override to either make whiptail be standard priority, or

Bug#315922: gtkdiff: Misleading error message for missing file, then returns wrong error code.

2005-06-27 Thread A Costa
Package: gtkdiff
Version: 1.8.0-2
Severity: normal

Make two files to compare:

% echo hello world /tmp/dummyfile.old
% echo hello worldy /tmp/dummyfile.new

...and good 'ol 'gtkdiff' works fine with them:

% gtkdiff /tmp/dummyfile.old /tmp/dummyfile.new

But not when, by mistake, you leave out the last letter w:

% gtkdiff /tmp/dummyfile.old /tmp/dummyfile.ne ; echo $?

** WARNING **: /tmp/dummyfile.ne: stat in check_filetype()

GLib-WARNING **: g_printf_string_upper_bound(): unable to handle positional
parameters (%n$)

GLib-WARNING **: g_printf_string_upper_bound(): unable to handle positional
parameters (%n$)

Then 'gtkdiff' pops up, empty, with a vague message box that says:

Warning
(!) you can't compare /tmp/dummyfile.old and /tmp/dummyfile.ne.
[ OK ]

...and when you close 'gtkdiff' the error code is:

0

It'd be better of 'gtkdiff' didn't start up, and showed a command line
error, (or maybe a box, if it did start up), that said something more
precise like:

Error: can't find '/tmp/dummyfile.ne'.

...and returned a proper error code.

Hope this helps...

Bug#277073: Patch to really fix this bug

2005-06-27 Thread Christian Perrier
In #277073, Konstantionos propsoed a patch for languagechooser to have
it trigger the install of localization-config when the locale is not
en_US or when the architecture is powerpc.

This patch was however completely wrong as it attempted using a
non-existent LANG variable. So Joey reverted it...and it went
forgotten.

However, the patch remained applied to localechooser, so we currently
have a broken localechooser, which always installs l-c (and Joey
mentioned this was breaking ia64).

The attached patch attempts to do what Konstantinos requested.

When compared to the former proposed patch, changes are:

-not use undefined LANG anymore. Use LANGUAGE and COUNTRYCODE instead
-move the test *after* the country selection step

I will test this patch more thoroughly. Please consider it UNTESTED at
this moment.

Bug#315923: Kernel panic after Sarge installation on Dell with SATA drive

2005-06-27 Thread Everett Lipman
Package: install
Version: debian-31r0a-i386-binary-1.iso
Severity: critical

I attempted to install Sarge (2.6.8-2-686) today on a Dell
Dimension 8400 desktop. Upon reboot after installation,
there was a kernel panic with the following error messages:

pivot_root: No such file or directory
/sbin/init: 432: cannot open dev/console: No such file
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!

Just before this, the messages indicate that the kernel has found
the hard disk (Serial ATA Maxtor 6Y160M0):

scsi0: ata_piix
Using anticipatory io scheduler

  [drive info]

ata2: SATA max UDMA/133 cmd 0x170 ctl 0x376 bmdma 0xFFA8 irq 15

and so on (I am typing this by hand, since the machine then
crashed and there are no logs).

By replacing hda with sda in the following line in
/boot/grub/menu.lst, I was able to prevent the panic:

kernel/vmlinuz-2.6.8-2-686 root=/dev/hda6 ro

The boot then failed when it tried to fsck the swap and
remaining ext3 partitions until I made similar replacements
of hda with sda in /etc/fstab. This allowed the boot
process to finish, but then the kernel would not recognize
the cdrom drive.

This may be related to bugs #299478 and #285981.

Other people have described this problem here:

   http://www.debianplanet.org/node.php?id=1094

The same problem appears here:

Bug#315927: apache(-common?): postrm may only use essential stuff on purge

2005-06-27 Thread Lars Wirzenius
Package: apache
Version: 1.3.33-6
Severity: important

In the source package the file debian/pkgtemplates/flavours.postrm
contains calls to ucf, but when the package is purged, ucf might not be
on the system anymore. (This may apply to other packages built from the
apache source package. I didn't check.)

From Policy, 7.2, Binary Dependencies - Depends, Recommends, Suggests,
Enhances, Pre-Depends: Note, however, that the postrm cannot rely on
any non-essential packages to be present during the purge phase.

Workaround (for people who run into this): manually keep ucf installed
while purging apache.

This file is actually the shadow *programs* translation

Christine, do you want to take care of it?

It is a bit more complex than debconf translations because here the
update impacts the patch we have for the programs translation
(132_vi.dpatch).

So, the Right Way to deal with this bug is (see also README.patches in
debian/patches):

-Install quilt on your system

-In a fresh dir, untar the shadow_4.0.3_orig.tar.gz file (you can get
 it with apt-get source shadow).

-In this directory, copy or check out the trunk/debian directory from
 SVN.

-Go at the top of this source tree and issue:
 -quilt push 132_vi
(this will apply all patches up to the 132 one in the order listed
   in patches/00list)

-Repalce the po/vi.po file by the one from this package

-Issue the following to refresh the 132_vi patch
 -quilt refresh
(it refreshes the patch which is at the top of the stack)

Ah right can reproduce it now. You can track it at:

Upstream say:
Selecting both test and test/foo and hitting delete is an
erroneous behaviour by part of the user and should be warned.
There is no harm done in waving a flag for the user. Anyways,
the current default for xffm is now the iconview where the
described behaviour is not feasible (you cannot select parent
and child at the same time) so there should be no problem with
this in the next release of xffm.

So they're not going to fix it.

Hi,

I have been experiencing random lockups on a server of mine, located at a

connected with the lockup:

and the machine has nothing else in syslog at that point until the reboot.

I don't see anything of significance before that message either.

I'm reporting this as a bug, but - could it be a hardware problem, with the
disk, for instance? Any suggestions would be most appreciated, as random
hangs on a server that is supposed to be up 24/7 are *most* annoying:-(

Bug#315930: kernel-patch-mppe: Patch fails to apply with kernel versions 2.6.x.y

2005-06-27 Thread Allard Hoeve
Package: kernel-patch-mppe
Version: 2.4.2+20040216-4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

The kernel-patch for mppe in sarge (and sid) fails to apply to 2.6.x.y
kernels from kernel.org. As you can see in the message below, 2.6.12.1
does not match any of the kernel versions in
/usr/src/kernel-patches/all/apply/mppe. Adding 2.6.12.1 to the KVERSIONS
array resolves this issue. I'm not sure if adding a bunch of kernel
versions to that array would be an options (like 2.6.20 is in there
currently), but I'd rather leave that issue up to you.

Please fix the situation. One idea would be to match only the first
three kernel version numbers (e.g. 2.6.12, not 2.6.12.1), since the
stable releases do not change much.

Regards,

Allard Hoeve

Bug#315049: autossh: depends on transitional package ssh

2005-06-27 Thread Andrew Schulman
Maybe autossh should depend on ssh-client, which is provided by
  openssh-client.

It should probably depend on 'openssh-client | ssh-client' to avoid
depending on a pure virtual package. (Assuming it doesn't use any
OpenSSH-specific features, that is; if it does, then remove
 ssh-client.)

I think the safe approach would be to say that autossh does depend on
openssh-specific features:

- it invokes ssh, which AFAIK still refers exclusively to the OpenSSH
client;

- the man page discusses which command-line switches it can use that
aren't already taken by ssh, meaning specifically the OpenSSH client;

- it may (but I'm not sure about this) set other OpenSSH-specific
command-line switches before invoking ssh. In Cygwin it definitely
does. In Linux it may not yet, but the design assumes OpenSSH and so
it may start doing so at any time in the future.

Bug#315935: crosscompiling: build arch not used during build

2005-06-27 Thread Marc Leeman
Package: ntp-simple
Version: 1:4.2.0a+stable-8
Severity: serious
Justification: no longer builds from source

I tagged the severity lower, but it's upgraded.

I am trying to cross compile the ntp-simple package for an embedded
target. Based on the debian/rules, I use the following configuration:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ntp-4.2.0a+stable]$ cat autogen.sh
#!/bin/sh

# fix permissions
chmod a+x configure

mkdir -p build-simple
cd build-simple ../configure --prefix=/usr \
--disable-all-clocks --disable-parse-clocks \
--disable-debugging --enable-LOCAL-CLOCK \
--sysconfdir=/tmp/ntp
--cache-file=../config.cache \
--disable-errorcache \
--host=powerpc-linux-uclibc \
--build=i686-linux

make -C build-simple

The build fails at:
make[3]: Entering directory

powerpc-linux-uclibc-gcc -E -I. -I../../ntpdc -I.. -I../../include

-c -o ntpdc-layout.o `test -f '../../ntpdc/ntpdc-layout.c' || echo
'../../ntpdc/'`../../ntpdc/ntpdc-layout.c; \
then mv -f .deps/ntpdc-layout.Tpo .deps/ntpdc-layout.Po; \
else rm -f .deps/ntpdc-layout.Tpo; exit 1; \

ntpdc-layout ntpdc-layout.o
./ntpdc-layout layout.here
/bin/sh: line 1: ./ntpdc-layout: cannot execute binary file

As far as I can make out, the ntpdc-layout is a small tool for creating
some configuration file. It should be compiled with the host gcc, not
the target gcc.

On 17 Jun, you wrote:

I'm a little reluctant to simply apply this patch without understanding
what's going on better. Is this a gcc-4.0 or amd64 issue, or something
that really is specific to both. What affect does the patch actually
have? Could it break compilation elsewhere? Would it perhaps be better
to post to the ast-users list (i.e. upstream) with a clearer
explanation?

Thanks

considering features as commandline options then no, autossh passes every

planning to fix it) which are openssh-specific (but I suspect they are the same
as ssh-client).

Colin, when is ssh 1:4.1p1-4 expected to enter testing? depending on
(open)ssh-client makes autossh uninstallable on testing

(see the fourth word - changed to n ?)

Further there is a line break just before ${nexthop} ${user} in the argv line.
Is that OK? I don't think so.

No need to apologize, it is not always easy to understand each other via
mail :-)

In the meantime I patched dpatch-get-origtargz to implement properly (I
hope) the path idea. Patch is attached both for the script and for the
manpage describing the new behaviour.

I left in place the DPGO_ORIGTARDIR as first attempt to find the
tarball, but of course it is now redundant. I suggest to mark it as
deprectated in the manpage (but I didn't do it by myself, it's up to
you).

The only aspect I'm not happy with is that the patched script manually
sources /etc/dpatch.conf and ~/.dpatch.conf while some scripts of the
dpatch suite (not all, though) uses a SYSCONFDIR instead of hard coded
/etc which is filled at compiler time using awk. I doubt it will be
ever a problem thought.

Cheers.

Bug#315719: Re: dpatch-get-origtargz does not found upstream tarballs in ../upstream

2005-06-27 Thread Marc Haber

I left in place the DPGO_ORIGTARDIR as first attempt to find the

deprectated in the manpage (but I didn't do it by myself, it's up to
 you).

Not quite. DPGO_ORIGTARDIR is the place where the caller (dpep in the
first place, but svn-buildpackage can use dpgo as well) expects the
orig.tar.gz to be for further processing. This is why dpgo checks
whether the file is already there.

You need to copy the file to the directory pointed to by
DPGO_ORIGTARDIR since the caller expects the file to be exactly there
and will yell at you if you don't put it there.

The idea of a search path is usually communicated via the Environment,
so I'd prefer having dpgo look into the Environment and expect the
caller to properly read the search path from its own configuration and
set up the environment variable. I think this is the most general
interface, keeping dpgo independent from dpatch configuration.

Greetings
Marc

Bug#315940: debootstrap: please add Ubuntu breezy script

2005-06-27 Thread Colin Watson
Package: debootstrap
Version: 0.3.1.3
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

The attached patch adds support for the Ubuntu breezy distribution,
which I've now set up to be determined mostly dynamically (the buildd
variant is still hardcoded because we haven't set up Build-Essential
extraoverrides yet).

The breezy script is very similar to sid, although differs in a few
places:

Uhm ... aren't you confusing DPGO_ORIGTARDIR with the ORIGTARDIR
variable local to dpgo? The latter is passed to dpgo on cmdline and is
where dpgo puts the upstream tarball if found somewhere. DPGO_ORIGTARDIR
seems to be used only as a first attempt to find the tarball. Am I
missing something?

set up the environment variable. I think this is the most general

I agree and I'm implementing this solution.

Cheers.

Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments
and ideas you had during the initial install.

Worked on Linux first at Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, Bangalore, India during
my
training for the International Informatics olymipad during 2002. Always wanted
to try
out Linux after that.

Read online about various distributions, and decided to go with Debian
GNU/Linux. However
didn't know where to obtain it from, till a magazine provided a DVD.

First read someone else's experience at
http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/5656,
I learnt that Dell Latitude C800 supports only the 1600x1200 screen resolution,
and
that there is a problem with the auto detection of PCMCI. Hence I booted with
the following
line
linux26 hw-detect/start_pcmcia=false

The installation went perfectly, used tasksel to install only the desktop
package, and
switched to vt2 while configuring PPP and configured ADSL using pppoeconf

I am a computer engineering sophomore in Louisiana State University, Baton
Rouge, and am
in India for my summer. In India my parents subscribe to a magazine called
PcQuest and their
Decemeber 2004 issue contained the DVD that I used for the install. We have a
PPPOE ADSL
connection at India and cable broadband at my campus in US.

apt-get and dpkg just worked, and I used the mirror site at IITM, India. I will
change
the sources.list file once I am in USA.

Grub correctly identified Windows at hda1.

At campus, we use wireless internet, and I have not yet configured my wireless
(I use
a PCMCIA 802.11b card). I have to find out how to do that.

The Debian reference manual on the web at qref.sourceforge.net is absolutely
wonderful

Sound card was automatically configured.

Install logs and other status info is available in /var/log/debian-installer/.

Bug#207367: Not sure about your bug report

2005-06-27 Thread Michael Meskes
Hi,

I just noticed that this bug report is still open, but I'm not sure if I
just forgot to close it or anything else was going on.

The bug report mentions a warnquota manpage but this does not include
any infos about warnquota.conf and there is no warnquota.conf manpage.
But there is a warnquota.conf example file and that one does show all
options, at least it should.

Could you please explain what exactly you would like to see?

Michael

Ok, just making sure it's indeed hal that triggers this, because quite odd..
The floppy ticking problem also goes away when your restart hal like that ?

Floppy ticking stop when I kill hald and continue when I start hald.

The way to use it is to turn off hal, and run it with your cdrom device
  names
  as arguments. For example ./test /dev/hdc /dev/hdd

I killed hald, closed drive bays, compiled and run that program. Both
drives will open their disk bay, first /dev/hdc and then /dev/hdd and
floppy drive starts ticking. All drives are empty.

That's odd.. Did you specify /de/fd0 to the program too?. If that isn't the
case it's not explainable from userspace

 Some info about drives:
 $ dmesg | egrep 'hd(c|d)'
 ide1: BM-DMA at 0xb408-0xb40f, BIOS settings: hdc:DMA, hdd:DMA
 hdc: Hewlett-Packard CD-Writer Plus 8100, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
hdd: JLMS XJ-HD165H, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
 hdc: ATAPI 24X CD-ROM CD-R/RW drive, 1024kB Cache, DMA
 hdd: ATAPI 48X DVD-ROM drive, 512kB Cache, UDMA(33)

Looks normal. Could you try debian's 2.6.11 just to be sure it's not your
kernel version?

Bug#315719: Re: dpatch-get-origtargz does not found upstream tarballs in ../upstream

I agree and I'm implementing this solution.

Done, patch attached.

Executive summary:
- added support to dpgo for the DPGO_ORIGTARPATH env variable
- dpgo manpage updated (still to be decided what to do with
  DPGO_ORIGTARDIR)
- added support to dpep for
  * a -p/--origtargzpath CLI switch
  * a DPEP_ORIGTARGZPATH env variable
  * a conf_origtargzpath setting
resulting value is passed to dpgo via DPGO_ORIGTARPATH env variable

Rename settings/env variable as you prefer.

Cheers.

Okay, then it's 2.6.6. This information is critical for me to apply it

Do you wish to continue to have CVS commit access, or should I remove

Hrm, I've on my main server libmysqlclient.so.12 beside
 libmysqlclient.so.10 installed:

 [EMAIL PROTECTED]: strings /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.10 |grep mysql_set_ssl
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]: strings /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.10 |grep mysql_ssl_set

 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]: strings /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.10 |grep mysql_ssl_set
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]: mysql_ssl_set

libmysqlclient.so.12 has mysql_ssl_set() function enabled.

But following statement in Mysql Reference can be found:

mysql_ssl_set() does nothing unless OpenSSL support is enabled in
  the client library.

So there is no justification of mysql_set_ssl() removal from library
API (It does not make libmysqlclient10 openssl dependant).

I don't know if it would be a big mess if you'll use the newer mySQL
libraries or do you have a better solution?

Afaik you'll need for the newer mySQL libraries the mySQL v4.0 or
 mySQL v4.1 server.

It's true. New specter packages are available here
(libmysqlclient14 dependent):

http://nki.zie.pg.gda.pl/~verdan/debian/specter

And waiting for upload.

Moreover I've found another bug, fixed there (FTBFS due to changes
in upstream postgresql-dev sources; refer to changelog).
We need to push this version to stable also.

Best regards,
 Verdan

2005-06-27 Thread Thijs Kinkhorst
Package: www.debian.org
File: http://www.debian.org/events/keysigning
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

The page http://www.debian.org/events/keysigning introduces Debianers to
the concepts and practice of key signing. It might be a good idea to
mention the `signing-party' package on this page, which provides tools
to aid in several aspects of the process.

You could think of a paragraph like this:

==
Tools

The signing-party[0] Debian package provides some tools to help you with
this process. ttgpg-key2ps/tt turns a GnuPG key into a PostScript
file to print paper slips with your fingerprint, and
ttgpg-mailkeys/tt will email a signed key to its author. The package
also includes ttcaff/tt which is a more advanced tool. See the
package documentation for more information.

Bug#315905: grisbi: Grisbi crash when trying to enter a new transaction for a payee whose last transation is a breakdown

2005-06-27 Thread callytic
Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for the quick answer.

Selon Benjamin Drieu [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

I can't reproduce this here. Normally, the patch you mentioned should
have no influence on Linux version of Grisbi since the issue in the
bugtracker is specific to windows and we used conditional
 preprocessors.

Sorry if I was misleading but as I am getting exactly the same error message I
tought both issues were related

Another idea, which window manager are you using?

 Cheers,
 Benjamin

I have latest Gnome from unstable and I am using the default Metacity window
manager (1:2.10.1-2). I don't know when the issue started to appear, I know it
would have been a precious info. It definitely worked before, but I am not sure
if the issue started after an upgrade of Gnome or Grisbi. Anyway if I remember
well the issue exist before the transition to Gnome 2.10.

FYI I had to re-install my whole system last week due to a hard drive crash
thanks to my friends from ESB (irish electricty provider) :o(
But again the issue was there before.

I tried to run a debug on my personnal account file but it didn't seems to find
any error.

Any other suggestions are welcome ;o)
Thanks again for your help

PS. Also some info how to boot with this image in Readme.Debian would be

Bug#315955: samba package build fails; DEB_HOST_GNU_SYSTEM is 'linux-gnu' now

2005-06-27 Thread Sebastian Tusk
Package: samba
Version: 3.0.14a-5
Severity: important
Justification: fails to build from source

The build of samba from the source package fails on my machine. If I understand
the problem
correctly that is because 'dpkg-architecture -qDEB_HOST_GNU_SYSTEM' returns
'linux-gnu'. But it seems that debian/rules:line 72 assumes that 'linux' is
returned. Changing the line so that it reads 'ifeq

source using the CD. THis makes it hard to install for nonexperienced
users without net connectivity

This work with upstream, and I hope to be able to patch this in (Shouldn't
be that hard)

 Thanks for filing this bugreport.

I agree that this is missing from the lessdisks in Debian, and I agree
that this is easier with the newer upstream lessdisks, but I disagree
that it is an important issue (for the maintainance if this package - it
may very well be more important for debian-edu).

One of the possible fixes to this bug is off course to upgrade to
newest upstream package. This does, however, involve other issues so is
not as simple as just packaging it (or using the package provided upstream).

Another fix is attached here.

Actually, there is 2 patches attached.

301_allow_noninteractive_install honours lessdisks_noninteractive if
set. Before this, I used 'yes | lessdisks-install'
If the install fails, I do get a prompt asking me what to do

302_allow_install_from_cd will let you set default_archive (and possibly
others) to cdrom, and if so, it's possible to install everything from cdrom

I have built a set of packages to test, and uploaded them to

Bug#315956: libmathlib2-dev: gen.h includes nonexistent prototypes

2005-06-27 Thread Kevin B. McCarty
Package: libmathlib2-dev
Severity: normal

 Original Message
Subject: debian cfortran package
Date: Fri, 24 Jun 2005 11:59:52 +0900 (JST)
From: Tim Gershon gershon(at)bmail.kek.jp
To: Kevin B. McCarty [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi,

I am trying to use your package, and have hit a problem with linkage.

At the moment, I am just using the PROB function from mathlib, but am
planning to use various MINUIT related functions.

In the code, I have

// #include mycernlib.hh
#include cfortran/cfortran.h
#include cfortran/gen.h

When I compile (using g++-3.3, or g++-3.4), I get the errors given below.

If I use my own wrapper (in mycernlib.hh), I can compile with no problem.

I also get the same result if I compile following the instructions at
http://wwwasd.web.cern.ch/wwwasd/cgi-bin/listcernlibfaqs.pl/3

(I couldn't find any instructions regarding compilation/linkage in the
cfortran package documentation, though maybe I didn't look hard enough).

If I use g++-4.0, the compile seems to be clean, but I get swamped with
warnings from the assembler.

If you have suggestions, I would be very happy to hear them, as I would
prefer to use your package than to write a bunch of wrappers.

Anyway, thanks for your efforts making the cernlib packages!

Cheers
Tim Gershon

particular, our infrastructure isn't yet ready. The sarge release was a
pre-requisite, but that doesn't imply it's allowed immediately after the
release.

Michael, if these changes look fine to you, could
 you please forward them upstream?

Applied upstream, in 2.12q, except for:

msgid using port %d for nfs deamon\n
-msgstr benutze Port %d für NFS-Dämonen\n
  +msgstr benutze Port %d für NFS-Daemonen\n

I don’t see the point here.

Bye,
  Mike
