Bug#424877: texmacs: running Octave hangs texmacs

2007-05-21 Thread Atsuhito Kohda

I dont know the solution to the actual problem. But I think I can help
 on this issue.

Open Texmacs. Click on Insert - Session - Octave. In the octave
 prompt, you can enter

 a=[1 2; 3 4]

to define a 2x2 matrix. To display the matrix, you can enter

 a+0

This works with texmacs 1.0.6, octave 2.1.73 but not with octave 2.9.9.

Thanks for your advice and/but, unfortunately, even with
texmacs 1.0.6.10 we see a warning when used with Octave 2.1.

On Thu, 17 May 2007 16:33:18 +0200, Francesco Potorti` wrote:

Texmacs does not work at all with Octave 2.9, because of gset and
 because of LOADPATH.

Confirmed. Further, texmacs 1.0.6.10 doesn't work with octave 2.9,
though apt-cache show octave told me the current Octave version from
the 2.1 branch (the recommended testing branch) so I suspect
we should wait for texmacs to support octave 2.9.

And I'm almost certain that this is an upstream bug.

Can you arrange for the 8.1 docs to be updated to reflect this? Adding

I just got the bug report below from a Debian user. The comment on
  http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.1/interactive/libpq-pgpass.html
confirms this, it describes the exact same problem.

This seems to be a repeat of
 http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-hackers/2006-05/msg00295.php
which was fixed a year ago but only for 8.2 and later, since there
was some concern about the change being not backwards compatible.
 http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-committers/2006-05/msg00123.php

So this is fixed in the current postgresql-8.2 package in unstable,
and this is not an issue which would warrant a stable update, so this
can be closed.

Thank you for your report!

This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.

   (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Mmm going to http://snap.com doesn't crash here. Usually, the
BadAlloc errors show up when the X server can't allocate a bitmap large
enough compared to what libxul asked. That can be due to oversized
images or text, for example. Could you try to check if such thing is
occurring ?

Thanks

Quite possibly, and likely on behalf of the client, i.e. kpdf in this

Since I don't really know how remote X apps work, I thought that they
just told the X server what to display; I didn't realize that they could
compell it to keep pixmaps around.

Because pixmaps reside in the X server's address space, it's as simple
as creating pixmaps and never freeing them.

Samba does not exec anything directly out of /tmp to my knowledge, so
chances are you're hitting a problem with something like debconf.

Emphasis on install in the original message. Attempts to install the
samba-common package while /tmp is mounted noexec fail. Given that
remounting /tmp with exec allows the package to be successfully installed
is pretty solid evidence that during installation some script is being
 directly executed out of /tmp.

Steve is not saying that you're imagining things. What he's saying is
that it is possible that the script that is being directly executed out
of /tmp is being executed by some subsystem that Samba depends on, in
which case it wouldn't be a bug in the Samba package.

Are you getting an error message that you can share with us?

So this bug seems to be related to bug #425228.

But still iceweasel should not crash when a font file (link) is not

Bug filed as 'serious' because so far xulrunner is the only package shown to
be affected by this problem in current binutils and a workaround is
available. A separate bug will be filed on binutils.

How likely is this toolchain bug to be fixed fast ? (that's to decide if
that can wait until I'm done packaging version 1.8.1.3)

Not at all, I'd guess. I haven't identified the bug in binutils yet, I only
know it's triggered by use of --relax.

I'd appreciate it if this didn't wait for a binutils fix anyway, because
xulrunner's arch: all/any interdeps mean that I can't bootstrap the current
gcj-4.1 for alpha until the current package version is built.

You can imagine how badly this will break the init script.
It happens on two different systems, both running etch.

kill -HUP -1234 is valid. Please check the kill manpage for the
discussion about killing process groups. The init script breakage was
fixed in 0.90.2-2. I'll see if I can get the fixes into an etch
targetted version as well.

(Also, it's still a PITA to use clamav-milter with postfix.)

Yes, I've reported it upstream, and got essentially no answer to my
query. I know that Nigel sometimes reads bug reports here, maybe he can
answer.

See section 2.7 of .../clamav-milter/INSTALL.
I don't use postfix, so I can't guarantee if it works, pleas to postfix
users for help go unanswered.
I wouldn't describe 3 simple commands and two lines in a config file as a
PITA.

Take care,

Bug#421418: No XV here too

Hi,

(WW) intel(0): Disabling Xv because the overlay register buffer
 allocation failed.

If I explicitely use VideoRam 32768 in xorg.conf, xorg does not start
and fails with the following message :
(II) intel(0): Kernel reported 110080 total, 1 used
 (II) intel(0): I830CheckAvailableMemory: 440316 kB available
 (**) intel(0): VideoRam: 32768 KB
(II) intel(0): Allocating 5273 scanlines for pixmap cache
(EE) intel(0): Failed to allocate framebuffer. Is your VideoRAM set too low?

As indicated here, try commenting out the VideoRam directive in

If I do, X.org starts but no XV, which is deactivated due to failing
overlay register allocation .

Bug#424761: openoffice.org-core: Strange recommendation of nfs-common

2007-05-21 Thread Bilderbeek, Manuel
Hi,

should want nfs-common, it may be related to bug #335742. Could the
people who observed #335742 (CC'ed) please try to install nfs-common
and see if this solves the NFS-related problems?

Thank you very much for the suggestion! It seems that this indeed solves
the NFS problems, a quick test shows that I can't save a file to an NFS
mount before installing it and this worked fine after installing it.
Please make it a dependency. Note that Ubuntu and possibly other distros
have similar problems, might be nice to notify them as well.

 Hi,

today I upgraded to msttcorefonts 2.2 and iceweasel does not segfault
anymore when connecting to service.sap.com .

So this bug seems to be related to bug #425228.

But still iceweasel should not crash when a font file (link) is not
available. So maybe this should be reassign or retitled.

This is fixed in upstream trunk, so this will be okay in iceweasel 3.0.
Backporting the fix is out of question, because it applies to a
different backend.

Hi David,

David [2007-05-21 8:28 +0200]:
Can you arrange for the 8.1 docs to be updated to reflect this? Adding
a user comment won't help people who prefer the static documentation.

I could, but I don't think it's worth the effort, since
postgresql-8.1 will be removed from unstable and Lenny once the
transition to 8.2 is complete.

Bug#425355: dpt_i2o - disk IO causes very high load

2007-05-21 Thread Peter Hirdina
Package: linux-image-2.6.18-4-k7
Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-12etch2

Doing any disk IO ( 10MB/s) causes the load on the system to rise into
extreme areas. This is bugging me, especially since the disks (4) are
on a separate RAID controller (Adaptec 2400A, module dpt_i2o).

For example: If I copy a big file via NFS onto the machine, the load
rises easily up to 8 (8 threads configured for nfsd). Copying the same
file via scp, the load gets still up to 5, so it doesn't look like it
is related to NFS. When I check with top what is causing this high
load, I can see that the system is spending all the time in iowaits.

I had this problem also with older kernels. I guess it was just not
that worse, because I just recently upgraded the NIC from 100MBit to
1GBit, causing extra stress for the disks.

Trying to debug things I found a something strange (at least for me).

Could that be the reason for the high load?

Bug#425354: Sylpheed deletes the _complete_ inbox

2007-05-21 Thread foxguarda-t1
Package: sylpheed
Version: 2.3.0~beta5-1

I have a _big_ problem: sometimes sylpheed deletes
_all_ the messages on the inbox of a imap4 account.
Last time it happened I did the following.
Connect, move some mails to trash, empty trash, read a
message in the inbox. While I was reading it, an
automatic (programmed every 5 min) check of the
mailboxes occurred. After it the inbox I was looking
at was empty.

I think the important lines of the log are the
following (if you think it's usefull, I have longer

As you can see the number of messages went from 35+1
to 0+0 for no reason.
It happened also another time, with a different imap4
server, so I think it's a problem in sylpheed rather
than in the mail server.
I hope it can be fixed, because it's my favourite mail
client, and this bug is very dangerous if you have
important mails.

Debian etch, kernel 2.6.20.3-smp, libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13.

Luca.

Bug#425356: RFP: iwlwifi -- The iwlwifi project provides a driver which utilizes the new mac80211 subsystem for the Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection adapter.

Description : The iwlwifi project provides a driver which utilizes the

adapter.

The iwlwifi project provides a driver which utilizes the new mac80211 subsystem
for the Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection adapter.

In addition to using the new mac80211 subsystem, this project uses a new
microcode image which removes the need for the user space regulatory daemon for
this adapter. This change should help to simplify installation, development,
and redistribution of this driver package.

Bug#425093: fix available via other package upgrades to SVN

2007-05-21 Thread Neil Williams

Moray Allan [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

On Sun, 2007-05-20 at 22:56 +0100, Neil Williams wrote:
Moray: What do you think? (I know we've only just got through one
transition but I'm confident that this one is painless.)

We're *not* through the current transitions yet, a lot of my GPE
packages are out of sync between unstable and testing still.

OK.

Testing is a different issue - there are a lot of transitions going on
that affect Gtk-based programs which will all delay migration into
testing. atk1.0, glibc, libcairo, glib2.0, gtk+2.0, pango1.0 and
libxrandr need to move into testing first.

Only gpe-contacts would need to be rebuilt apart from the affected
libraries.

Secondly, as I said before, I don't see it as good to pre-empt
 upstream on this.

I agree - but this is an RC bug (that we saw coming) so I think it does
warrant at least an attempt to fix. There isn't going to be a patch to
fix this bug, it needs the transition of libeventdb and libgpevtype.

Would you like me to make my SVN-derived tarballs, .deb packages
and .dsc files available? (I have an apt repository on my server.)

Florian appears to be saying he *will* make a
release with the GPL version, but I'd still rather wait for upstream
 to move.

Personally, I'm not confident that a release is imminent - Florian
hasn't said (AFAICT) that a release is to be made any time soon. Last I
heard was that he will not accept the licence change.

Even ignoring community relationships, if you make up a
release and then upstream do something different it would be rather
messy to get back from the fork.

I know a fork is possible here but the SVN code that I'm using is from
the existing GPE SVN repository, so it's not a fork - yet. I haven't
used an SVN r number suffix at the moment but I can quite easily make
these packages as 0.73rc2+0.90svn etc. That will be easily replaced by
0.90 when it (eventually) gets released.

There have been a lot of issues with GPE recently with the move from
handhelds.org.

I've got the updated packages installed locally and gpe-calendar is a
*transformed* application with the new code in libeventdb. Memory usage
is radically reduced, responsiveness is back to a reasonable level and
even large imports take a reasonable length of time. The current
version of gpe-calendar in unstable is a dinosaur by comparison. Users
(especially embedded users) need gpe-calendar 0.90 ASAP.

Good.

No. Making it a dependency is nonsense for several reasons:

a) people not using NFS don't need it. Why should they install it just
to install OOo for usage on their local disks (or some other remote fses
like s(s)hfs?
b) a NFS without nfs-common installed and therefore the tools in there is

workrave no longer displays its little window; when it starts up it
briefly flashes up, but then disappears. workrave continues to run in

useless. I don't run any form of panel, so I've no idea if it would
still be displaying in that.

I've attached a strace of startup.

Bug#424761: openoffice.org-core: Strange recommendation of nfs-common

2007-05-21 Thread Bilderbeek, Manuel
Hi,
Please make it a dependency. Note that Ubuntu and possibly
 other distros

No. Making it a dependency is nonsense for several reasons:

 b) a NFS without nfs-common installed and therefore the tools
 in there is
 bbrokenly configured anyway.

I wonder how this happened then. I didn't have any NFS packages
installed, but I can simply use nfs mounts anyway... AFAIK this is a
kernel feature. So, I'm not sure what you mean with a NFS.

Recommends: is enough. See the policy for the definition of
 Recommends,
which doesn't even match here but Suggests (but that probably would go
 unnoticed at all)

I know about this. It seems a general problem that aptitude doesn't
install Recommends packages by default, as many people file bug reports
which could have been avoided by installing the Recommends packages.

A fresh installation of etch seems to install nfs-common though. (At
least it did on an installation of about a month ago.) My own system has
been upgraded on testing since 2004.

have similar problems, might be nice to notify them as well.

If you actually would have read the original message you
 would have seen
where the Recommend nfs-common fix came from.

I did read it, but apparently not thoroughly enough. I read it again,
and I see it came from Ubuntu, indeed. Good.

 [.. stripping off wasting disclaimer...]

I hate it as well, but I can't help it, so please don't blame me for it
and don't waste more bytes by adding remarks like these.

Yes. It is safer to put your stuff into TEXMFHOME = ~/texmf, a normal

Furthermore, if you set some env variable, add a final :
TEXINPUTS=.:/hom.:

Forget my last sentence. xmlroff 0.5 is fit for unstable. The

much easier to build than previous versions (0.3.x) and
generates PDF files from simple DocBook sources with
docbook-xsl. In contrast to the TeX based DocBook toolchains

Bug#425367: grub-update freeze system on xfs root

2007-05-21 Thread Olleg Samoylov
Package: grub
Version: 0.97-27
Severity: grave

I prefer use xfs as root file system. grub-install always freeze total
system on linux installation or grub update. Manual installation grub
always fine.

I tried investigate script. Heh, mates, there are not logic at all.

# XFS needs special magic
xfs_frozen=false
if which xfs_freeze /dev/null ; then
  cat EOF
Due to a bug in xfs_freeze, the following command might produce a segmentation
fault when ${grubdir} is not in an XFS filesystem. This error is harmless and
can be ignored.
EOF
  if xfs_freeze -f ${grubdir} ; then xfs_frozen=true ; fi
fi

I can't undestand, why do you need freeze total filesystem? Do you plan write t
o stage1,2 or change it location in the same time? Even in this case your
freeze will not well, because location of files will be changed later and
grub-install will be had to rerun. If you want prevent writing in this files
better use linux lock on files, rather then freeze total filesytem. No matter,
this freeze is not needed at all.

Later you run:

$grub_shell --batch $no_floppy --device-map=$device_map EOF $log_file

And you try to write to file in the same filesystem. Bingo, script is locked.
And after killing script whole filesystem remain be freezed. You will not be
able even to login in linux with such root filesystem. Even soft reboot will
not work. Only hard reset button will help.

And very strange method to detect, when filesystem must be freezed. There may
be situations when filesystem is xfs, but have not xfs utils or there are xfs
utils but filesystem is not xfs.

I insist, all code about xfs filesystem is wrong, unnessesary and must be
removed.

Bug#425308: bug downgrade

2007-05-21 Thread Miguel Filgueiras
Leonardo Boselli [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
Change the subject of my reported bug to

Anyway in the README.debian is written that the user running the
program must be member of dialout group. By default only root is a
virtual menber of that group. Please add an option to run as root.
(two years ago used to work).

Thanks for your report. As it is written in the user manual that is
part of the distribution, under Installation, in Unix/Linux systems
access to the serial or USB port is normally restricted to users in
a group (in Debian, the dialout group). This means that the system
administrator should add users to this group if they are to have access
to that port, not that the application should be run as root.

We decided to not allow root to run the application because of security
reasons: a simple attack can be done by creating a file in
/root/.gpsman-dir/patch.tcl
to gain access or destroy data with root privileges. In case one wants to
run the risk, this restriction can be made void as follows:

- edit the file /usr/lib/gpsman/main.tcl
- find the line

if { $UNIX  $env(user) == root } {

and replace it by

if { 0 } {

I would appreciate that you contact me directly when you have problems
with gpsman. I will be glad to help.

By the way, I hope that a new release, 6.3.2, will be available within
some weeks. It solves some bugs present in 6.3.1. I will notify you when
it is ready.

Miguel Filgueiras

Bug#425369: Unable to load the module KHTML

2007-05-21 Thread Tourneur Henry-Nicolas
Package: kdelibs
Version: 4:3.5.7.dfsg.1-1
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hello,

After and update this morning Konqueror doesn't start at all.
When I try to start Konqueror it tell me that it can't load
the KHTML module because of an undefined symbol in /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4

The undefined symbol is : _ZN9KLineEdit17mouseReleaseEventEP11QMouseEvent

So Konqueror can't display any web pages.

Hmm.

I'm afraid I don't really get all the needed information to properly
 process this bug report.

Didn't sound like that from the audit trail :-)

Your complete smb.conf file would help

That's a bit more info than I'm comfortable giving out. However, it
seems to me that force group: +something is really the only relevant
option here.

as well as the permissions on
the offending directory and the users/group mapping (which users
belong to what group, at least for the groups involved i the problem
 you describe)

The users in question are in the something group, and also in the
other group (their primary group being the username group). Other
membership should allow writing in the directory in question (because
everything in there is in that group and g+w); something doesn't
(owner is a different user).

Of course, providing a level 10 log file (hopefully restricted to that
directory) would help, in case you're in position of reproducing the
bug again (which may be hard on a production server).

I'd probably get lynched.

When I try to start the KDE control center, it tell me that it was
impossible to find the MIME type application / octet-stream. So the left
panel (which does normally contain all configuration sections) is empty.
Another (I think related) bug : when I try to start KMenuEdit, the left

did you log out of kde and back in before reporting this bug?

 Package: libnss-mdns

 Justification: Renders unrelated packages unusable.

The presence of the libnss-mdns package causes the distributed.net client to
fail with a floating point exception when it tries to perform a name look up.

According to strace (output attached) the error occurs around the time that
 the distributed.net client accesses /lib/libnss_mdns4_minimal.so.2.
Removing the libnss-mdns package allows distributed.net to function normally.

I can reproduce this error at will. I have tested the i386 version of the
distributed.net client on the same machine and it runs without problems so
this bug seems to be architecture dependant.

I am including the output of distributed.net and the error reported by the
kernel in addition to the afore mentioned strace output.

I spent some time tracking this down. According to the strace it crashes around
the time it would normally call into the mdns nss lib. Adding some debug info
to nss-mdns showed that it never actually gets to that point though.

At this point i'm out of options, the distributed-net package contains no
source code and it's a static binary. So i can't debug this further (without
spending absurd amounts of time).

Reassigning this to distributed-net as it seems to work fine with all other
applications.

The problem with --enable-optimization-by-cpu is that the optimisation

It is *NOT* fixed in jackd 0.103.0-4 or 0.103.0-5.

I can rebuild from source to get a working jackd for Pentium II but I
thought that x86 Debian binaries should work for 486 and above

Bug#425378: display latest reports

2007-05-21 Thread hungerburg
Package: reportbug
Version: 3.38
Severity: wishlist

For your wishlist:

When reporting a bug, it was great to also be able to have a
look at the latest reports for the package, date descending,
so to see, if I am about to send in a dupe.

This only happened to me yesterday - because the filters tried
did not help me and the list was tooo long to fully check :(

Also I use reportbug sometimes and with usually good results
to look up solutions when problems arise after apt-updating my
unstable box - then it was very nice too to find them fast.

Yours

Peter

Bug#425382: libavc1394-0 ist of priority extra, libquicktime0 (optional) depends on it.

2007-05-21 Thread Fabian Greffrath
package: libavc1394

Hi,

you package libavc1394-0 is of extra priority whereas libquicktime0 is
of optional priority and depends on libavc1394-0. this is a policy
violation [1] that could be circumvented by raising the priority for
libavc1394-0 to optional.

Thank you!

Cheers,
Fabian

Bug#425257: root-system_5.15.07-4(hppa/experimental): FTBFS: architecture not supported

2007-05-21 Thread Christian Holm Christensen
Hi Frank,

On Sun, 2007-05-20 at 15:50 +0200, Frank Lichtenheld wrote:
 Package: root-system
 Version: 5.15.07-4
 Severity: important

 Hi,

your package failed to build from source. According to configure, Linux on
HPPA doesn't seem to be supported. You should either add that support
or list only the supported architectures in debian/control and not
 use any.

OK.

Let me ask some questions - maybe we can get it to work.

So hppa is the Debian name for HP PA-RISC. Reading a bit about this
architecture on Wikipedia, I get the felling that it's what HP-UX ran
on. HP-UX _is_ supported by ROOT, but Linux on HP PA-RISC isn't (yet).

So my questions:

  * Does the 64bit version of HP PA-RISC work in a 32bit
compatibility mode? That is, how come there's no Debian
architectures hppa32 and hppa64? This has implications for what
`close architecture' to implement support from.
  * Is the HP PA-RISC a little endian or big endian machine?
  * Is there any common pit-falls with this architecture?
  * If it's not possible to get ROOT working on this platform, would
there be a way to exclude that architecture when building
packages? I'd rather make exceptions to `all' then provide a
positive list (which is harder to maintain).

Kevin, you have any idea how to proceed on this?

Fons, I send you this report too, so you can say what you think. We
can probably expect more of these kind of errors, since ROOT hasn't been
tested on all `exotic' Linux platforms.

Frank, thank you for the report.

Oh, and another question, I looked at the amd64 build logs (I know this
is slightly off topic, but anyways), and towards the end it said

g++ -O2 -pipe -Wall -m64 -fPIC -Iinclude -DR__HAVE_CONFIG -pthread
-I/usr/include/mysql -DUSEPCH -include precompile.h -o mysql/src/TMySQLServer.o
-c mysql/src/TMySQLServer.cxx
In file included from mysql/src/TMySQLServer.cxx:23:
/usr/include/mysql/my_global.h:353:24: error: asm/atomic.h: No such
file or directory
make[1]: *** [mysql/src/TMySQLServer.o] Error 1
rm utils/src/rootcint_tmp.cxx utils/src/RStl_tmp.cxx
make[1]: Leaving directory `/build/buildd/root-system-5.15.07'
make: *** [build-arch-stamp] Error 2

For some reason, the MySQL header includes `asm/atomic.h' which for some
reason isn't available. I realise that this is a problem with MySQL on
that platform, but what to do about it? The file should be in the
`linux-kernel-headers' package, which I assume is installed on the amd64
machine. What I don't get, is why this header is included. The
relevant code is

#ifdef HAVE_ATOMIC_ADD
#define new my_arg_new
#define need_to_restore_new 1
C_MODE_START
#include asm/atomic.h
C_MODE_END
#ifdef need_to_restore_new /* probably safer than #ifdef new */
#undef new
#undef need_to_restore_new
#endif
#endif

The symbol HAVE_ATOMIC_ADD is not defined by ROOT itself, so it must
come from MySQL. I'm surprised that this didn't work. In the past
we've build the packages on amd64 with no problems.

I see ia64 fails because gfortran is not available, and g77 should be
used instead. I guess a Build-Depends like

gfortran [!ia64] | g77 [ia64] | fortran-compiler

would do the trick?

I should also exclude root-plugin-hbook on kfreebsd-amd64.

The kfreebsd-i386 architecture never really got support upstream. It is
unfortunate, because it should be close to the BSD architectures that is
support.

mips and mipsel have the same problem as hppa.

Oh, and one last comment. How come, if I do a search on

http://experimental.ftbfs.de/build.php

for root-system and architecture any, I get nothing?

Bug#423022: Bug#422851: grub-probe -t partmap doesn't work with software RAID

The problem is that it actually tries to do that, because the RAID
superblock is located at the end of the partition.

(even through it doesn't 'see' the RAID partition as
such, I can still boot from it without complaint).

That's probably because you have RAID1. The only difference between a
RAID and a non-RAID is that there is a RAID superblock at the end, you
can just mount a RAID1 partition as normal. This is how grub legacy
was always able to boot from RAID1 partitions. This won't work with
RAID0 or RAID5 however.

I wonder if d-i warns the user that they may be creating an unbootable
system if the partition that contains /boot does not exist wholly within
the first 7.8 GiB/128 GiB/128 PiB (depending on the addressing mode in
 use) of the disk? :)

I think that 7.8GiB limit has been gone for a long time now, I don't
think there will be a lot of installations on such machines. My guess
is that the 128 GiB limit is still a problem.

Bug#425386: xmms2: Last.fm plugin just plays noise

2007-05-21 Thread Friedrich Delgado Friedrichs
Package: xmms2
Version: 0.2DrHouse-3.1
Severity: normal

I've tried using the lastfm plugin together with jack output. Playing
a local file via jack output works, but streaming via jack will result
in just quirky noises. It may be that the sampling rates or audio
formats are not adapted properly:

Example stream: lastfm://globaltags/rock

Note that I also have to set the volume manually via
xmms2 volume port1 100
xmms2 volume port0 100
every time I want to use the jack plugin.

lastfm streaming works with the alsa output plugin

And the xmms2d output from xmms2d -v -o jack, in case you need it:

Bug#425359: workrave window no longer appears

Does typing the following:

$ gconftool --type bool --set /apps/workrave/gui/main_window/enabled true

do any good?

Bug#425387: laptop-mode-tools: nice load will only be set for ondemand governor

2007-05-21 Thread Dirk Griesbach
Package: laptop-mode-tools
Version: 1.33-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hi,

in /usr/sbin/laptop_mode instead of a variable a fixed value is used so
the behavior is not what it should be, at least for those who don't use
the ondemand governor. This patch will fix it:

   set_sysctl

---
   set_sysctl
