Bug#490403: evolution: last delete-flagged mail is not hidden when using IMAP account
Package: evolution Version: 2.22.2-1.1 Severity: normal When using an IMAP account, Evolution shows the last delete-flagged mail even though the option View - Hide deleted messages is on. The mail is shown with overlined text, so it really is correctly detected as having the deleted flag set. However, for some reason Evolution always shows the most recent delete-flagged mail with overlined text. Naturally, the mail disappears when purging the mailbox. I believe this glitch appeared in the 2.22.2 series of Evolution. Bug#490161: maint-guide-zh: pdf bookmark display problem in file maint-guide.zh_CN.pdf
Hi How does it look under X started under zh_CN.GB2312 locale and evince or acrobat run there. That is the question. I set my locale to zh_CN.GB2312, bookmarks still can not be displayed properly under evince. If this resolve situation, it is reader's problem not converting enoding for pdfhyperref. Maybe, there is no encoding information embedded properly. Either case, these become unreadable. so this is not the reader's problem :),I am pretty sure about that. I do not know but it looks to me those index created by old CJKbookmarks needs to be in the same encoding. This is LaTeX macro issue though. Usually we chinese guys prefer zh_CN.UTF-8 to zh_CN.GB2312 under linux. Is it ok to use the zh_CN.UTF-8 to build the pdf file as I mentioned previously $iconv -f gb2312 -t utf8 maint-guide.zh_CN.sgml maint-guide.zh_CN.sgml.utf8 $debiandoc2latexpdf -l zh_CN.UTF-8 maint-guide.zh_CN.sgml.utf8 $iconv -f big5 -t utf8 maint-guide.zh_TW.sgml maint-guide.zh_TW.sgml.utf8 $debiandoc2latexpdf -l zh_TW.UTF-8 maint-guide.zh_TW.sgml.utf8 This really works, but maybe is is not a good approach. Bug#490354: Add atl2 support to kernel-wedge
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Some questions. What's the reason the module isn't pushed into the upstream kernel? Upstream is working on including it. From what I can see, the kernel team want it integrated with atl1 which appears to be a stumbling block. The last mail I can find about it on netdev [1] is quite old, i'll try and chase up the latest status of this. Does it have/require firmware? No What is the size of the module? In my 486 2.6.25 its 33727B Are the systems that use it otherwise fully supported by the standard D-I? The eeepc would then be fully supported (apart from wireless which is not really required) by the installer. One of the main goals for the debian-eeepc project is to try and get it supported by d-i so that we don't have to maintain our own installer. I'll also take a look at hw-detect. Depending on the answers to those questions I have no real objections, altough I also don't really like the explosion in kernel udebs we're seeing with the last few kernels. Adding a separate udeb also means that pkg-lists will need to be updated. Bug#490401: VLC plugin should claim support for audio/x-m4a
tags 490401 + patch thanks This patch get the test page working. It adds audio/x-m4a and audio/mp4 to the two files vlcplugin.h and npvlc_rc.rc. I am not sure only these two files should be updated, but I can confirm that it work with this patch in place. The plugin is showing a black square with the text no video in the middle when playing the audio. I would prefer it to show some control buttson (like restart and pause), instead of just the black screen, but suspect that should be the topic for a different bug. diff -ur vlc-0.8.6.e/mozilla/npvlc_rc.rc vlc-0.8.6.e.new/mozilla/npvlc_rc.rc --- vlc-0.8.6.e/mozilla/npvlc_rc.rc 2007-11-21 22:23:46.0 + +++ vlc-0.8.6.e.new/mozilla/npvlc_rc.rc 2008-07-12 06:39:58.0 + @@ -39,7 +39,7 @@ VALUE InternalName, npvlc\0 VALUE CompanyName, VideoLAN Team\0 VALUE LegalCopyright, Copyright \251 1996-2006 The VideoLAN Team\0 -VALUE MIMEType, audio/mpeg|audio/x-mpeg|video/mpeg|video/x-mpeg|video/mpeg-system|video/x-mpeg-system|video/mpeg4|audio/mpeg4|application/mpeg4-iod|application/mpeg4-muxcodetable|video/x-msvideo|video/quicktime|application/x-ogg|application/ogg|application/x-vlc-plugin|video/x-ms-asf-plugin|video/x-ms-asf|application/x-mplayer2|video/x-ms-wmv|application/x-google-vlc-plugin|audio/wav|audio/x-wav|audio/3gpp|video/3gpp|audio/3gpp2|video/3gpp2\0 +VALUE MIMEType, audio/mpeg|audio/x-mpeg|audio/x-m4a|video/mpeg|video/x-mpeg|video/mpeg-system|video/x-mpeg-system|video/mpeg4|audio/mpeg4|audio/mp4|application/mpeg4-iod|application/mpeg4-muxcodetable|video/x-msvideo|video/quicktime|application/x-ogg|application/ogg|application/x-vlc-plugin|video/x-ms-asf-plugin|video/x-ms-asf|application/x-mplayer2|video/x-ms-wmv|application/x-google-vlc-plugin|audio/wav|audio/x-wav|audio/3gpp|video/3gpp|audio/3gpp2|video/3gpp2\0 VALUE FileExtents, mp2,mp3,mpga,mpega|mp2,mp3,mpga,mpega|mpg,mpeg,mpe|mpg,mpeg,mpe|mpg,mpeg,vob|mpg,mpeg,vob|mp4,mpg4|mp4,mpg4|mp4,mpg4|mp4,mpg4|avi|mov,qt|ogg|ogg|vlc|asf,asx|asf,asx||wmv||wav|wav|3gp,3gpp|3gp,3gpp|3g2,3gpp2|3g2,3gpp2\0 VALUE FileOpenName, MPEG audio|MPEG audio|MPEG video|MPEG video|MPEG video|MPEG video|MPEG-4 video|MPEG-4 audio|MPEG-4 video|MPEG-4 video|AVI video|QuickTime video|Ogg stream|Ogg stream|VLC plugin|Windows Media video|Windows Media video|Windows Media plugin|Windows Media video|Google VLC plugin|WAV audio|WAV audio|3GPP audio|3GPP video|3GPP2 audio|3GPP2 video\0 END diff -ur vlc-0.8.6.e/mozilla/vlcplugin.h vlc-0.8.6.e.new/mozilla/vlcplugin.h --- vlc-0.8.6.e/mozilla/vlcplugin.h 2007-11-21 22:23:46.0 + +++ vlc-0.8.6.e.new/mozilla/vlcplugin.h 2008-07-12 06:39:42.0 + @@ -128,6 +128,7 @@ /* MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 */ \ audio/mpeg:mp2,mp3,mpga,mpega:MPEG audio; \ audio/x-mpeg:mp2,mp3,mpga,mpega:MPEG audio; \ +audio/x-m4a:m4a:MPEG audio; \ video/mpeg:mpg,mpeg,mpe:MPEG video; \ video/x-mpeg:mpg,mpeg,mpe:MPEG video; \ video/mpeg-system:mpg,mpeg,mpe,vob:MPEG video; \ @@ -135,6 +136,7 @@ /* MPEG-4 */ \ video/mpeg4:mp4,mpg4:MPEG-4 video; \ audio/mpeg4:mp4,mpg4:MPEG-4 audio; \ +audio/mp4:mp4,mpg4:MPEG-4 audio; \ application/mpeg4-iod:mp4,mpg4:MPEG-4 video; \ application/mpeg4-muxcodetable:mp4,mpg4:MPEG-4 video; \ /* AVI */ \ I was unable to find any rules to generate npvlc_rc.rc from the content available elsewhere. Hi Ricardo, I have actually stopped using claws-mail and reverted to Sylpheed, because I just could not live with this bug. I just set up a little test bed, and unison and claws-mail 3.5.0 still do not play well, same behavior: read/unread and color state of e-mails is lost after synchronization. Not sure I mentioned before, but when I first bring up claws-mail after a sync, the number of read/unread e-mails in a folder actually seems to be correct in the folder list at the left. After I click on a folder, all e-mails inside become unread. As for preservation of modification times, below is a partial dir sorted by size of the two inbox directories right after a sync, generated by ls -alcS. Hopefully that gives Paul the info he needs. Can we see your slapd.conf on the server side? Also, is this still an issue with the current 2.4.9-1 version of the package in lenny? If the problem is still present and there's nothing indicative in the slapd.conf, I would want to see the full, unedited debugging output from gnutls-cli. It still happens reliably for me with the given url, though it doesn't happen with other urls. So I would say it is not /that/ bad. Now, I got to the point where I don't know where the bug is anymore... Bug#490398: storebackup: exceptDirsSep causes an error
Hello, I didn't check the issue, but I think this is the result of totally different modules for arguments in the command line and the configuration file. Probably exceptDirsSep only works in command line. I will not correct this bug for a very simple reason: There is a version of storeBackup nearly ready which will fix it. Beside several new features (which are the reason for switching to version 2) it will come with a new combined interface for command line and configuration file. You will also be able to overwrite settings in the configuration file on the command line. The parameter exceptDirsSep simply goes away in this new version. This new version is running now for some weeks in production for me and some others. It's still missing the integration of the new lib/checkParam2.pl module and documentation. Now, please simply use a blank as a separator, until the new version is out. If you are interested to test the next version, please write me a direct email. A Beta will be available in a few weeks. Bug#418997: /usr/bin/ldapsearch: ldapsearch -Y GSSAPI segfaults
tags 418997 moreinfo unreproducible thanks I've just done a test here with etch ldap-utils, etch slapd, and etch libsasl2-modules-gssapi-mit. I'm not able to reproduce any segfaults when using ldapsearch -Y GSSAPI (perhaps that was obvious to some other co-maintainers, but I haven't seen this stated plainly before now, and I hadn't had any opportunity to test). I've also tested with sid versions, and also don't see any errors. Juha, if this bug is still an issue for you and is still reproducible, I think we will need a backtrace using a libkrb53 package built with debugging symbols. Otherwise, we would eventually have to close this bug as unreproducible. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world. Package: krb5-kdc Version: 1.4.4-7 Severity: important Tags: patch The krb5-kdc package doesn't rotate /var/log/krb5kdc.log, which is required by Debian Policy 10.8. Bug#490369: The test suites fail on any 64-bit architectures
-=| Michael Casadevall, Fri, Jul 11, 2008 at 06:14:34PM -0400 |=- I ran it on my amd64, and it failed the test suite with the following error: t/local/00_ptr_cast# compiling test program with: cc -o t/local/ptr_cast_test t/local/ptr_cast_test.c # Failed test 'STDERR empty after compiling' # at t/local/00_ptr_cast.t line 28. # got: 't/local/ptr_cast_test.c: In function 'main': # t/local/ptr_cast_test.c:27: warning: format '%d' expects type 'int', but argument 4 has type 'long unsigned int' # t/local/ptr_cast_test.c:27: warning: format '%d' expects type 'int', but argument 6 has type 'long unsigned int' # ' # expected: '' # Looks like you failed 1 test of 5. dubious Test returned status 1 (wstat 256, 0x100) I should have been more specific and said a specific test fails ;-). You should tell us the specific version of the package you built. If you used the 'reportbug' tool, it would have included it in the report. I am running on Ubuntu though, I passed the bug report though since the test suite was not run on buildd.d.o. Of course test suite *is* run on the build daemons. Did you look at the build log? http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=libnet-ssleay-perl;ver=1.33.01-1;arch=ia64;stamp=1214906736 I'm using GCC-4.3.1 which may make the difference. As seen in the above build log, buildds used 4.3.1-3 I also feel uneasy about the patch prosposed as I suspect %ld may not be appropriate on 32-bit architectures. -- damJabberID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Package: iceweasel Version: 3.0~rc2-2 Followup-For: Bug #484270 Iceweasel crashes randomly on different sites I believe due to flash content. Bug#486744: [epiphany-browser] Carsh when increeasing font size
On Sat, Jul 12, 2008 at 09:55:28AM +0200, Mike Hommey wrote: Now, I got to the point where I don't know where the bug is anymore... I roughly duplicated epiphany code for zoom handling in the gtkembed test in xulrunner (in case it would make a difference whether the zoom API is called from javascript or C) and... it doesn't crash... Attached, you'll find a patch for this test. If you want to try for yourself, apply it to current xulrunner source, run debian/rules build, then make -C embedding/browser/gtk/tests, and finally, dist/bin/run-mozilla.sh embedding/browser/gtk/tests/TestGtkEmbed Then go to the aljazeera.net url, and click on zoom (you can click several times, but not too many times, there is no failsafe) I could reproduce with galeon, though it doesn't happen as reliably as with epiphany. Even stranger, if you run galeon with a new user (no $HOME/.* directories around), then it *doesn't* crash. Then you restart galeon (so, after some $HOME/.* directories were created), then it *does* crash. Epiphany, OTOH, crashes even when $HOME is empty. I use it on a daily basis and this is new to me. But $ busybox mkdir --parents a mkdir: unrecognized option `--parents' you are right. This seems to have been dropped from busybox since etch. There is no entry in the changelog though. mdadm in lenny already uses -p rather than the long options, so if you had upgraded mdadm as well, the problem wouldn't have happened. I agree that this is a problem we should fix in time for lenny, but I can't fix it in mdadm. Bug#482145: silc client segfaults if key is verified after disconnection
On Fri, 11 Jul 2008, Skywing wrote: : All of the key confirmation prompts suffer from this flaw. I've got a : fix for /getkey being broken, other than the lack of reference counting : for the SilcClient and SilcClientConnection objects. There is nothing : that can really be done about the SilcClient object not being refcounted : Both of you have stumbled to the fundamental problem of most asynchronous operations; the inability to control them. That's why SILC's runtime provides the SILC Async Operation API (from 1.2 docs: http://srt.silc.fi/silcasync_hsilcutil2FAsync20Operation20Interface.html) Here in a psuedo-code fashion is one way to fix this and all other prompt problems in SILC Client: In this particular problem reported by Jérémy we can fix this by wrapping the keyboard_entry_redirect call to our own call that uses the SilcAyncOperation: SilcAsyncOperation my_keyboard_entry_redirect(SIGNAL_FUNC func, SilcAsyncOperationAbort abort_callback, const char *entry, int flags, void *data) { SilcAsyncOperation op = silc_async_alloc(abort_callback, NULL, data); keyboard_entry_redirect(func, format, flags, data); return op; } The returned op would be saved to some location where it is globally available, say, inside SILC_SERVER_REC. Some other context could be used too, but just for the purpose of this example let's use that. To present user with the key verification prompt, we now would call: server-prompt_op = my_keyboard_entry_redirect(verify_public_key_completion, verify_public_key_abort, format, 0, verify); If the server connection is now closed or whatever happens that would invalidate the data inside the structure we used with the call above, we now call in whatever callback client library called to indicate the disconnection: silc_async_abort(server-prompt_op, NULL, NULL); This will call the verify_public_key_abort which must now mark the operation aborted: void verify_public_key_abort(SilcAsyncOperation op, void *context) { PublicKeyVerify verify = context; verify-aborted = TRUE; } When the verify_public_key_completion is finally called when user actually answers the prompt, we check: if (verify-aborted) { /* We was aborted, do nothing */ silc_free(verify); server-prompt_op = NULL; return; } /* We wasn't aborted, free operation and proceed */ silc_async_free(server-prompt_op); server-prompt_op = NULL; NULLing the operation is important to avoid using it accidentally. Of course the operation context must be saved into some place that itself cannot be freed underneath the async call. I'm not sure SILC_SERVE_REC is the correct place even though I used it in this example. The SILC Client Library should use SilcAsyncOperations with all client ops it calls to application that take completion callbacks as argument so that the library itself could abort the client ops. This however would require changing the SilcClientOperations API... Pekka Pekka Riikonen priikone at silcnet.org Secure Internet Live Conferencing (SILC) http://silcnet.org/

Do you think that this java package could become a specific debian package ? there are basically two things happening with netbeans. one is to split out all non-netbeans originating embedded libs to use them from seperate packages (upstream is doing that by making sure, any modifications on those libs are merged by their respective upstream projects), and another one is (which is the interesting one for you :) to heavily break up netbeans binary packages in debian, which i'm working on to do. in the end, to offer maximal flexibility, netbeans-platform would be very, very small and depend on a big chunk of independent jar packages only. however.. that will not make it into lenny yet. -- Address:Daniel Baumann, Burgunderstrasse 3, CH-4562 Biberist Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Internet: http://people.panthera-systems.net/~daniel-baumann/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. My guess is that some of the processes running just after the test suite are not 'lingering', they just haven't had the time to exit gracefully yet. My first try at a fix would be sleeping a few seconds after the test suite before killing any remaining processes. Bug#489932: [Pkg-bluetooth-maintainers] Bug#489932: /usr/bin/bluetooth-applet: bluetooth-applet does not accept files
Hi, On Tue, Jul 08, 2008 at 09:36:45PM +0200, Marius Mikucionis wrote: There's a revealing discussion here: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.bluez.devel/15680 and here: http://www.spinics.net/lists/bluez-devel/msg00180.html a simple workaround is to install xdg-user-dirs package and run xdg-user-dirs-update as a user. the proposed patch has been applied to bluez-gnome 0.27 which I'm about to upload. I propose to include xdg-user-dirs-update as dependency for bluez-gnome, or at least as a recomendation, because it cannot work without the config file created by xdg-user-dirs-update. I'm reluctant to do this, see below. It might be the case that the bug does not appear if gnome is installed fresh, however I installed whole Debian fresh, and moved my home directory from an old system and thus this still came out as a problem. This is right, nowadays gnome tracks movements of user dirs and updates xdg user dirs accordingly. I've added a README.Debian in the form of: bluez-gnome for Debian == In case bluetooth-applet fails to receive files try starting bluetooth-applet from the command line, it should output G_USER_DIRECTORY_DOWNLOAD is not set or G_USER_DIRECTORY_PUBLIC_SHARE is not set in this case check if ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs contains the correct directories, if that file doesn't exist installing the xdg-user-dirs package and running /usr/bin/xdg-user-dirs-update will create it. would be that ok? filippo -- Filippo Giunchedi - http://esaurito.net PGP key: 0x6B79D401 random quote follows: The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. -- Oscar Wilde -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#490440: Change default syslog daemon to rsyslog in time for lenny
Package: ftp.debian.org Severity: important Tags: lenny, override Hello, It has been discussed to change the default syslog daemon for lenny. This discussion took place both on debian-devel [1] and debian-release [2],[3]. syslog-ng, msyslog and rsyslog all were mentioned as possible alternatives for sysklogd, but in the end most people voted for rsyslog, see for example [4] and [5]. Additionally, Debian Edu already switched to rsyslog for their Lenny based version with success [6]. At least one lenny release manager mentioned that he doesn't object against the change and that it's not to late for lenny either yet [7],[8]. So if you don't have any objections, please invert priorities of rsyslog and sysklogd+klogd in your overrides. greetings, jonas [1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2008/01/msg01002.html [2] http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2008/04/msg00023.html [3] http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2008/07/msg00117.html [4] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2008/01/msg01005.html [5] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2008/01/msg01061.html [6] http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2008/07/msg00170.html [7] http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2008/07/msg00162.html [8] http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2008/07/msg00172.html -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-1-amd64-resivo (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#467117: Fwd: Re: [Pkg-hpijs-devel] Bug#467117: Confirmed: locale dependency in hp-toolbox
Hi Hplip developers! Mark brought to my attention that he does not know of a upstream fix for the locale dependency reported in http://bugs.debian.org/467117 and lots of other bug reports. I offered to inform upstream about this issue, but didn't do it till now. But there appears to be an upstream bug report as well: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/225970 So I kinly ask: What is the status of this issue? Do you intend to fix the locale dependency? I search for locale in my mailing list archive but didn't find anything. Only other option I see would be to start hp-toolbox via a wrapper script that sets english locale, but then all others would get a completely english hp-toolbox. Better fix would be just to start external commands using english or C locale so that parsing their output works all the time. (Even better would be to avoid parsing output of external commands... but thats a different story.) Yes, I seen that this mailinglist shall not be used anymore for questions... thus I will also use Ask a question on the launchpad projekt site for hplip... but since I wrote the mail completely now and Debians bug tracking system loves mails, I will send it nonetheless.
