Bug#526823: using single-request

2009-05-07 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi guys,

I've been encountering big stability problems with my computer since the
update to the latest glibc. My router is a Linksys WRT54GL running
dd-wrt v23.

I have tried to set the single-request option but as you probably knows,
NetworkManager rewrites the file at each connection and thus deletes the
single-request line every time ...

Bug#523946: Vertscrolling

2009-05-07 Thread José Sánchez Moreno
Hi.

When I boot into X Vertscrolling works perfectly but eventually stops
working.

Once Vertscrolling stop working I type

HorizEdgeScroll = 1
EdgeMotionMinZ  = 29
EdgeMotionMaxZ  = 159
EdgeMotionMinSpeed  = 1
EdgeMotionMaxSpeed  = 401
EdgeMotionUseAlways = 0

RightEdge is 5300 and vertscrolling is not working but if I type in the
terminal

j...@eee:~$ synclient -s -l | grep Ed
LeftEdge= 1632
RightEdge   = 6140

HorizEdgeScroll = 1
EdgeMotionMinZ  = 29
EdgeMotionMaxZ  = 159
EdgeMotionMinSpeed  = 1
EdgeMotionMaxSpeed  = 401
EdgeMotionUseAlways = 0

RightEdge has another value.

If I type in the terminal synclient RightEdge=5300 Vertscrolling works
again for a indeterminated period of time after that stops working
again.

However, few method calls on the session bus. Here is the log attached.

Bug#463860: any chance to see this fixed in .26 in lenny?

2009-05-07 Thread Holger Levsen
found 463860 2.6.26-2
thanks

Hi,

yesterday I've upgraded a friends laptop to lenny and 2.6.26-2 showed exactly
these symptons, device was there, but scanning showed now networks. Upgrading
to 2.6.29 solved the issue but it feels pretty bad that many users are left
in the cold with the default lenny kernel which else would work nicely for
them.

Is there any chance to get this fixed in .26 in lenny or are the televant
changes to big ?

regards,
Holger

Bug#523596: problem of 523596 is in graphicsmagick

2009-05-07 Thread Adeodato Simó
Hey, Daniel.

 reassign 523596 libgraphicsmagick1-dev
retitle 523596 Bogus cflags returned by GraphicsMagick-config

 $ GraphicsMagick-config --cflags
 -fopenmp -Wall -g -fno-strict-aliasing -Wformat -Werror=format-security
 -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fstack-protector -fPIE -O2 -Wall -pthread

Not good. Here it is -fPIE causing trouble (FTBFS), but I do not think
that it has any business specifying any of the above. Similar
considerations probably apply to other options and other -config.

Do you have an estimation of when you'll be able to address this issue?
It seems to be the last bit needed for the graphicsmagick transition to
become a candidate to be tried for migration (in particular, the fix is
needed so that psiconv can be rebuilt, and it's the last reverse
dependency needing to be built).

If not, Thomas has offered to prepare a fix to be uploaded. I'm told he
could prepare an upload that would just provide under debian/ -config
executables that completely substitute upstream's, or a patch that fixes
the upstream code itself.

Please let us know what you prefer: upload yourself, and in this case
let us know an approximate ETA, or a NMU, and in this case let us know
your preferred approach.

Thanks!

Bug#523750: autoconf false error

2009-05-07 Thread Ralf Wildenhues
Hello Amos,

* Amos Jeffries wrote on Mon, May 04, 2009 at 03:16:50AM CEST:
 Yes it is Squid-3.
The official snapshot bundle can be found at:
   http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v3/HEAD/
The bundle is generated on another OS with older autoconf version that
does not have this issue. The problem appears when this is bootstrapped to
 the newer autotools chain.

I can confirm the
  config.status: executing libtool commands
/bin/rm: cannot remove `libtoolT': No such file or directory

issue. It is due to both the Libtool macros and the configure.in
defining $RM, and configure.in uses
  AC_PATH_PROG(RM, rm, $FALSE)

whereas the Libtool macros expect rm -f. One fix could be to
  AC_PATH_PROG(RM, rm, $FALSE)
  RM=$RM -f

I agree that Libtool should probably document this RM usage.

The linkage problem is then displayed by:
mkdir test cd test ../configure --silent make check

What problem is this? Can you post the libtool --mode=link command that
fails, plus all of its output?

I don't get as far as running make check: make all already fails on
  make[3]: Entering directory `/tmp/squid/squid-3.HEAD-20090507/build/src'

but that's presumably because I don't have all build-prereqs installed
(how would I get them, on a mostly-stable Debian)?

Thanks,
Ralf

2009-05-07 Thread Daniel Dehennin

I confirme the problem when upgrading.

/etc/ocsinventory/ocsinventory.conf is the old one with many variables
missing and a reference to Apache::Ocsinventory::Server::Option::Registry.

I used /usr/share/ocsinventory-server/files/ocsinventory.conf and
replace the dbconfig options with appropriate settings.

I enjoyed the Include of the dbconfig part in 1.06, it permited to use a
template of ocsinventory.conf to easyly deploy OCS on many servers.

Hi Henry

I have checked your log file now and that explains what happens.

You have the following settings enabled:
 MAILON=error
 EXITON=error

This means that an email is sent when an error occurs (check your mail
settings if you have not got such) and that it should also exit on
errors.

So this is actually how it should work.

I'm closing this bug now.

Thanks a lot for the report and the help to collect information. It is

Bug#401020: evolution: Evolution crashes when receiving a message with an empty subject (from a MS-exchange server)

Hi,

I switched from Gnome to KDE and don't use evolution anymore. So I've not
been confronted to this bug for a long time. I don't have an Exchange
server anymore, so I can't test it...

Sorry about that.

Bug#516799: problem found

2009-05-07 Thread Paul van Tilburg
Hi!

For some reason I removed Elisa yesterday and then installed it again,
first 0.3.5 by accident, then 0.5.37 and indeed, I had the same problem.
For some reason all kind of cruft stays around in 0.3.5. I attempted to
clean /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/elisa/core of files that should
not be there and that seemed to work.

I must admit I'm not very familiar with the details of this pycentral
stuff and the symlinks being created, this is done automatically, but
I'll try to figure it out and fix it soon.

Thanks for the report,

Paul

Bug#523596: problem of 523596 is in graphicsmagick

Hi!

I've only briefly looked into this problem so far. Actually, I'd prefer
to see psiconv change from the (deprecated) Magick-config to pkgconfig.
I'm tempted to remove GraphicsMagick-config completely, and only provide
Magick-config in the -dev-compat package. It still needs tweaked --cflags
to prevent build failures, of course (and an update to the man page
that correctly documents --cflags as Print the compiler flags that were
used to compile libMagick).

One way or another, I'll see to get the packages in shape to complete
the transition later tonight.

Regards,

Daniel.

Bug#526823: (no subject)

2009-05-07 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi Aurelien,

I have just followed what comes in sid ;-)

Thus, with the annoucement of the glibc (2.9-8) unstable; urgency=low
on 28th of April, I started to have a very slow network and huge latency
problems with my computer.

Activating ipv6 support on the router helped a bit but did not really
solve the problem. It seems that latest glibc update glibc (2.9-10)
unstable; urgency=low has improved things and now it seems that
browsing the web is again feasible ;-)

I have also tested using opendns in my resolv.conf (with the same
problem that NetworkManager will overwrite the file on the next dhcp
update).

Finally, I have to admit that I do not know what really improved the
things. I will now reset the configuration to my router dns and let it
work alone with latest glibc version to see if latency problems are
still there. If it is the case, I will the skip-request option and let
you know in any case.

Bug#527357: kvm: Migration often fails when using virtio network interfaces

2009-05-07 Thread Mark
Package: kvm
Version: 72+dfsg-5~lenny1
Severity: normal

When I start a KVM with a virtio network interface (model=virtio) and I do a
(live) migration using the qemu console, the KVM guest starts spitting out
messages like
 virtio_net 0: id 80 is not a head!
as soon as the migration has finished, and the network is gone. When I don't
use the model=virtio option on both hosts I never get this error. I think this
is a KVM problem, but maybe it could be a bug on the guest? (which runs Ubuntu
Hardy).
By the way when the guest is quiet I don't get the error. But just manually
typing lots of characters to a ssh terminal during migration is enough to
trigger the error.

Wait a minute...

Would removing the multiple copies of debian/control* mean that it is
not possible anymore to rebuild unstripped packages from what you get
by apt-get source ffmpeg?

If this is true, I am strongly against it! We shouldn't bother our

Bug#527358: Workrave applet broken after upgrade to 4.6

2009-05-07 Thread Xr
Package: xfce4-panel
Version: 4.6.1-1
Severity: normal

Since the update to Xfce 4.6, the workrave applet is broken (see
attached screenshot).
A similar bug has already been filled on Launchpad but I thought it
should be mentioned here as well :
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-panel/+bug/370100 .

To sum things up, the whole applet looks like it is constrained to the
standard size of a square icon.
This size is dependent on the size of the panel : with my configured
width of 24 pixels, the applet is broken ; but if I scale the panel to
80 pixels, the applet is fully displayed.

I'm using workrave 1.9.0-7.

Cheers,

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the advice. Could I ask how you became aware of this Debian bug?
Are you subscribed to our email Package Tracking System (PTS) which would
enable you to receive the bugs reports when we do.
http://packages.qa.debian.org/k/kile.html

We also have a few bugs in our bug tracking system (BTS) that should be
forwarded to you upstream. Is using bugs.kde.org the best for you? Or is
there a better way we could work together?

@Debian KDE Extras Team: It would be good to update the svn snapshot as we
currently get quite some complaints about this bug.
 Thanks :)

Will work towards packaging a new svn snapshot, but we would prefer to package
a stable version 2.1, as it is always hard to know exactly which svn snapshots
are the best to package.

Do you have an idea when you maybe releasing 2.1?

Thanks,
Mark

2009-05-07 Thread Sam Hartman
*sigh* I begin to question the wizdom of agreeing that 510419 was
actually a bug.

Yes, I think an extra internal flag is the right approach. I'm going
to be mucking with kerberos-configs to get rid of krb4-configshortly and will
deal.

However if we get any more problems with 510419, I'm going back to my
original position that the state of whether you expect the KDC
information to need to be in krb5.conf can live in debconf and that is
not an abuse of debconf.

2009-05-07 Thread cb474 cb474
Which DNS server are you currently using? Have you tried to use
 single-request into /etc/resolv.conf?

Thanks for the help. This is on my laptop, so the DNS server depnds on where
I am. At home on DSL, my IP assigns the DNS server by name, rather than
numerical address. E.g.:

domain myip.net
search myip.net

This is where I have the problem. If the DNS server is assigned as a
numerical address, it works fine. I've noticed this when am at other
locations. Hence the opendns workaround solves the problem at home because
the DNS server is assigned as a numerical address. E.g.

nameserver 208.67.222.222

I have not tried single-request in /etc/resolv.conf. I didn't really
understand how to do that. Just add a line that says single-request at the
end? start? of /etc/resolv.conf?

This class is very new, and provides a functionality which is rather
abstract.

Class::ByOS is implemented in 24 lines of Perl (as shown by sloccount).

Is the provided functionality worth the packaging effort ?

Why do you want to package this module ?

dh sequence addons offer all the infrastructure needed to make enabling
a patch management system as simple as adding --with quilt to the dh
command line.

This would be perfect!

However, noone has bothered to write such an addon for any patch system
yet, AFAIK. I've suggested to various people that they do so, but nobody
has bitten yet, and as I don't use patch systems, I'm not the one to do it.
(Though I'm happy to offer technical support to anyone working on it.)
Also, the sequence addons don't really belong in debhelper, but instead
in the patch system packages. (So this bug should probably be
reassigned.)

Alright, so I have reassigned it to the quilt package in hope that
someone picks it up and does the dirty work...

How to do it:

* Write some simple debhelper commands like dh_quilt_patch and
dh_quilt_unpatch. These would be simple thin wrappers around
  quilt commands.
* Add a /usr/share/perl5/Debian/Debhelper/Sequence/quilt.pm that
inserts those commands into the dh command sequence in appropriate
places. Something like this, but where they are inserted may need
  to be tweaked:

#!/usr/bin/perl
use warnings;
use strict;
use Debian::Debhelper::Dh_Lib;

insert_before(dh_auto_configure, dh_quilt_patch);
insert_after(dh_clean, dh_quilt_unpatch);

Activating ipv6 support on the router helped a bit but did not really
solve the problem. It seems that latest glibc update glibc (2.9-10)

browsing the web is again feasible ;-)

There has been a lot of change in glibc 2.9-10 to workarounds broken
routers. I think that what has help, and that's why I was asking you the
versions.

I assume it only replaces files in _previous_ versions of
virtualbox-ose [1]. If that is the case, wouldn't it make sense
to make that explicit by versioning the Replaces?

This makes a lot of sense, thanks fo reporting. Fixed in git.

 Tom,

The Debian packages are built with standard cmake calls:
 https://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=rsibreak;ver=1:0.9.0-4;arch=hppa;st
amp=1240107416

Should we be setting some flags to disable debug output?

we are building with approximately relwithdebinfo flags.

More precisely, we have built with -g -O2 -DNDEBUG

Quite recently, kde has added -DQT_NO_DEBUG to the flags used - and we will
probably follow some time over the summer.

This still enables the kDebug() calls, but we have all debug areas disabled by
default.

So basically, it depends on how rsibreak outputs things.

if it uses qDebug(), this will be fixed (by kdelibs and a rsibreak rebuild)
during the summer

if it uses kDebug() without specifying debug areas (kDebug(1234)), we will
output it and I would consider rsibreak slightly broken here. If this is the
case, a debug area should be requested and rsibreak should use it for its
kDebug calls.

if it uses its own logging mechanism (which I doubt), it would also be a fix in
rsibreak.

The change IIUC is that virtualbox-ose is now a package without graphical

That's why the gui package is recommended.

IMO the first option makes most sense as most users will expect the
graphical frontend when they install virtualbox-ose. (If alternative
graphical frontends are expected, keeping the name virtualbox-ose-qt
 would make sense).

There already is one: vboxgtk.

2009-05-07 Thread debian
Package: fglrx-source
Severity: normal

X1300/X1550 series doesn't work with 9.4, too.
9.3 is still provided by ati as legacy driver, _parallel_ to the new 9.4.
so, we still need 9.3, since 9.4 doesn't support a lot of drivers anymore and
removing 9.3 from the repos makes a lot of people rather unhappy.
atm with a lot of effort (after killing my X) i had to downgrade to 9.2, since
that was the only one available except 9.4.

Thanks for the help. This is on my laptop, so the DNS server depnds on
where I am. At home on DSL, my IP assigns the DNS server by name, rather
 than numerical address. E.g.:

 domain myip.net http://myip.net
 search myip.net http://myip.net

This is where I have the problem. If the DNS server is assigned as a
numerical address, it works fine. I've noticed this when am at other
locations. Hence the opendns workaround solves the problem at home
because the DNS server is assigned as a numerical address. E.g.

 nameserver 208.67.222.222

You are probably mistaken. DNS server *must* be given by IP. There is no
other solution. domain and search are directives to control the way
unqualified DNS queries are answered.

 I have not tried single-request in /etc/resolv.conf. I didn't really
understand how to do that. Just add a line that says single-request at
 the end? start? of /etc/resolv.conf?

On a single line in the file, the location doesn't matter.

Bug#527362: mysql-server-5.0: mysql-server 5.0 failed upgrade possibly too short waiting time

2009-05-07 Thread Carsten Aulbert
Package: mysql-server-5.0
Version: 5.0.51a-24+lenny1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

When upgrading the mysql server it stopped like this:
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Setting up mysql-server-5.0 (5.0.51a-24+lenny1) ...
Stopping MySQL database server: mysqld.
Starting MySQL database server: mysqld . . . . . . . . . . . . . . failed!
invoke-rc.d: initscript mysql, action start failed.

stracing this process:
/usr/bin/perl -w /usr/share/debconf/frontend
/var/lib/dpkg/info/mysql-server-5.0.postinst configure 5.0.51a-24

showed that it blocked on a read.

The logs suggested that the server was up and running, however, the init script
gave up to early. Since the databases are several GB in size it might mean
that this is somehow related to bug #352070 that the wait time is insufficient.

I've edited the init file to this:

Bug#527363: lintian: please display a warning or informational tag if doc packages are recommended

2009-05-07 Thread Y Giridhar Appaji Nag
Package: lintian
Version: 2.2.10
Severity: wishlist

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi lintian team,

With Install-Recommends being the default, I've noticed that a lot of
documentation packages are pulled in. These are sometimes large and not
strictly [should] be found together with this one [package] in all but
unusual installations.

- From policy 7.2 Binary Dependencies - Depends, Recommends, Suggests, Enhances,
Pre-Depends

Recommends

This declares a strong, but not absolute, dependency.

The Recommends field should list packages that would be found together
with this one in all but unusual installations.

Suggests

This is used to declare that one package may be more useful with one or
more others. Using this field tells the packaging system and the user that
the listed packages are related to this one and can perhaps enhance its
usefulness, but that installing this one without them is perfectly
reasonable.

It would be good if there were a lintian warning or informational tag like
doc-package-in-recommends with a suggestion that the dependency be downgraded
to suggests.

Thank you for your work on lintian.

Giridhar

Bug#527244: [Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#527244: Bug#527244: rsibreak: too verbose debug output in .xsession-errors

 kDebug calls.

That's not true. Applications should not - ever - use a debug area. That's
only for libraries.(1)

Distributions should create packages without that output and as far as I know
KDE allowes that via -DRELEASE or something like that. kWarnings and kFatals
are then honored and kDebug will be ignored.

So RSIBreak is fine, I will close the upstream bug as won'tfix.

Please apply the same black magic, you've already spelled over gcj-4.3.
I should admit, that the context isn't exactly testing -- gcc-4.3 is of
4.3.3-7. That seems to be unrelated, but look in log -- it's full of
already familiar libtool's messages.

I wouldn't complain, but gcc-defaults depend on gnat-4.3. Sorry, I

Bug#516292: dhis-server is incompatible with dhis-client

On Wed, May 06, 2009 at 12:18:59PM -0430, Luis E. Munoz wrote:

 Any updates on this bug?

No, I did not have time to look at it in detail.

Upstream is moving away from the current model and wants to turn DHIS into a
web service. I don't expect any updates to the dhis-server code from their
side. The problem is what Debian should do. There are two groups of people: one
group of people using the service from dhis.org directly, they need only the
client, and want it to work with the servers that dhis.org is running. The
other group is of people who run their own DHIS server. These want a version of
the client and server that can work together.

If I look at popcon, I guesstimate the latter group is larger, so I will try to
fix the code myself, or revert back to a working version. If the old client no
longer works with dhis.org's services, I'll have to create two dhis-client
packages.

Bug#146345: Please build with #65279; --enable-selinux-support (restrict access to secring.gpg)

2009-05-07 Thread Daniel Leidert
I'm currently in favor of building separate gnupg packages with SELinux
support. This will give us the possibility to test things and help upstream
to come to a version, which can enable/disable SELinux support during
runtime. See https://bugs.g10code.com/gnupg/msg2499.

Bug#526620: False positive from -Wreturn-type

2009-05-07 Thread Richard Kettlewell

Hello,

Matthias Klose wrote:

please could you forward this upstream, and add the upstream link to the report?

I was slightly surprised to receive this reply as the bug reporting
instructions explicitly said I shouldn't do that:

Don't file bugs upstream

If you file a bug in Debian, don't send a copy to the upstream
software maintainers yourself, as it is possible that the bug
exists only in Debian. If necessary, the maintainer of the
package will forward the bug upstream.

Bug#448249: [Secure-testing-team] apt in testing-security breaks all reverse dependencies

2009-05-07 Thread Nico Golde
Hi,
* Sven Joachim svenj...@gmx.de [2009-05-06 18:21]:
bug #448249 has broken all reverse dependencies of apt in
squeeze-security because they need libapt-pkg-libc6.7-6-4.6, but apt
 0.7.20.2+squeeze1 provides libapt-pkg-libc6.9-6-4.6 instead. :-/

This needs to be fixed ASAP, there are already complaints on debian-user
about aptitude, synaptic and other programs removed during
 dist-upgrades in testing.

Sorry for the inconvenience, apt from unstable is now forced
into testing.

Cheers
Nico

Bug#525577: Info received (Bug#525577: krb5-config: questions skipped (DNS))

2009-05-07 Thread Sam Hartman
Actually, I'm no longer convinced that a flag is the right approach.
I have a solution that involves fixing this bug along with the
wishlist bugs. An explanation is too long to fit in the margin of
this message, but will be sent out when I get to it so others can
review.

Components:
* use bind9-host if we have it; depend on it so we definitely have it in
postinst
* keep track of what realm we thought was default when we asked about DNS
* Keep track of whether we're guessing the default realm or told by the user
* read from krb5.conf counts as told by the user

Bug#524108: openoffice.org: all documents open read only from afs filesystem

2009-05-07 Thread Angel Marin

Andrew J Perrin wrote:
An interesting update: the problem does not seem to exist with
OpenOffice native files (OpenDocument), i.e., .odt and .ods files. It
happens with the same files saved in Microsoft formats, i.e., .doc and
.xls, in the same directories.

We get this for all document formats where user opening the file does
not have regular unix perms to write the file.

This looks like openoffice 3 trying to be smart figuring that if file
perms are 644 and you're not the owner you won't be able to write to the
file ... that's correct except for filesystems like afs that have their
own acl system and completely ignore the regular unix perms.

So it looks like an upstream screw up in the oo.org 3 cycle.

As a workaround you can chmod all openoffice files to 666 and folders to
777 and let afs handle read/write access when it has to.

I don't have .icon-theme.cache here, in fact the manpage for

Bug#527373: mergechanges fails to include changelog entries from first file

2009-05-07 Thread martin f krafft
Package: devscripts
Version: 2.10.49
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/mergechanges

mergechanges output depends on the order of files. Try with the
attached files, where the source changes file was built to include
more than the last changelog entry (2.6.7.2-2):

  pulse:/tmp% mergechanges mdadm_2.6.7.2-3_source.changes
mdadm_2.6.7.2-3_amd64.changes | grep 2.6.7.2-2

  pulse:/tmp% mergechanges mdadm_2.6.7.2-3_amd64.changes
mdadm_2.6.7.2-3_source.changes | grep 2.6.7.2-2

Please make it have the first behaviour even if the additional
changelog entries come from a latter package.

Bug#527250: linux-image-2.6.26-2-686: boot hangs on fsck with kernel 2.6.26-2-868

2009-05-07 Thread Steven Degrauwe
Today this problem reappeared. I directly restarted my system with the
systemrescuecd to run e2fsck. No problems at all. So there is no corrupt
superblock... And since it is not occurring with kernel 2.6.26-1, I believe
it has something to do with kernel 2.6.26-2. I just can't see any pattern in
the appearance of the problem.

Greets
Steven

Bug#414865: popularity-contest: A script to filter requested/recommended/suggested packages

2009-05-07 Thread Christophe Lohr
Hello Bill,
  Thank you for your remarks.

Bill Allombert a écrit :
 Hello Christophe,

I am afraid your script does not work accurately:
 1) you do not remove dependencies from package that are not installed
but still in dpkg database (not in 'ok installed' state).

I think the new version (see attachment) answers the issue you point out.

 2) you do not remove dependency from other OLD packages recursively.

IMHO, it is not desirable (yet).
The tool suggests a list of package to remove. However it is the
responsability to the administrator to descide to actually remove or not
packets. The tool can't make assumptions about such a descision.
As a comparison, it is the difference between deborphan and orphaner
tools.
You want something like orphaner, but I propose something like
deborphan ;-)

Bug#527375: icon packages should not recommend (nor depend) desktop environments

2009-05-07 Thread Holger Levsen
Package: kde-icons-kneu
Version: 0.2-1

Hi,

kde-icons-kneu depends on kdebase without any need as one can very well use
icons without kdebase :-)

kde-icons-crystal kde-icons-crystalproject kde-icons-nuovext kde-icons-nuvola
all only recommend kdebase, but actually I think thats a bug too. And for
example tango-icon-theme doesn't recommend anything.

I guess I'll file bugs against those packages too :-)

Bug#463860: any chance to see this fixed in .26 in lenny?

Is there any chance to get this fixed in .26 in lenny or are the televant

well wirless drivers are notoriously harder to backport then ethernet
drivers. i don't say that it is impossible, but it is hard and
may have coleteral damage on other wlan devices.

i would have been happier to push the soon to come 2.6.30 for lenny+half,
but that looks impossible due to the multiple security support
that our team currently has to handle going from
oldstable 2.6.18 and 2.6.24, stable 2.6.26 and of course
the easy 2.6.29 in sid.

so current answer is unless you throw big manpower on it very unlikely.

Description: Caching proxy for distribution of software packages
Apt-Cacher NG is yet another implementation of a HTTP proxy for
software packages, primarily targeted at Debian/Ubuntu packages but
may also be used with others types.
 .
It follows similar principles as others (Apt-Cacher, Apt-Proxy,
Approx) and serves the same purpose: a central machine presents the
proxy for a local network and clients configure their APT setup
to download through it. Apt-Cacher keeps a copy of all useful data
that has been passed through it and when a similar request appears,
the old copy of the data is delivered without redownloading it from
 the Debian mirrors.
 .
Apt-Cacher NG is more than a simple rewrite of Apt-Cacher. It was redesigned
from scratch and is written in C++ with main focus on maximizing throughput
with low requirements on system resources.

Joilet and RR FS. So it does not exist at all (while file data are present on disk) - disk does not contain any info
about file size, date, name etc and it is impossible to unhide such file.

So please close this bug.

Sorry,
Andriy

FWIW, the installation-locale udeb provides a C.UTF-8 locale,
which d-i runs under. Takes about 168k.

Bug#527381: purge fails

2009-05-07 Thread Holger Levsen
Package: puppet
Version: 0.24.8-1
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts piuparts.d.o

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to purge.

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

From the third paragraph about the meaning of the depends field in
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-binarydeps

The Depends field should also be used if the postinst, prerm or postrm scripts
require the package to be present in order to run. __Note, however, that the
postrm cannot rely on any non-essential packages to be present during the
purge phase__.

Description: centralised configuration management for networks
Puppet lets you centrally manage every important aspect of your system
using a cross-platform specification language that manages all the
separate elements normally aggregated in different files, like users,
cron jobs, and hosts, along with obviously discrete elements like
 packages, services, and files.
 .
Puppet's simple declarative specification language provides powerful
classing abilities for drawing out the similarities between hosts while
allowing them to be as specific as necessary, and it handles dependency
and prerequisite relationships between objects clearly and explicitly.

 Is there any updates?

I have put the work I've done so far on git.debian.org:

  http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/sflphone.git

The main blocker at this stage is the packaging of a dependent package
(http://www.pjsip.org).

Bug#463860: lenny+half (Re: Bug#463860: any chance to see this fixed in .26 in lenny?

2009-05-07 Thread Holger Levsen
Hi,

On Donnerstag, 7. Mai 2009, maximilian attems wrote:
if you would have mentioned ath5k somewhere in your bugreport, your
intention would have been clearer. no we can't keep a hash table of every
linux-2.6 bug in our maintainers mems :P

point taken, sorry.

i would have been happier to push the soon to come 2.6.30 for lenny+half,
but that looks impossible due to the multiple security support
that our team currently has to handle going from
oldstable 2.6.18 and 2.6.24, stable 2.6.26 and of course
 the easy 2.6.29 in sid.

hm, so do you think lenny+half will not happen or how should I understand
that? I assume it will not be much easier once .30 is in sid, because 2
months later, there will be .31 in sid and you'd have to take care for 5
kernel versions again?!
