Bug#578981: phpldapadmin: php class 'LDAPServers' not found when opening webpage

 Justification: renders package unusable

 Hello,
on opening the webpage for phpldapadmin I just get following error:

Would you please try to remove your /etc/phpldapadmin/config.php and run
dpkg-reconfigure phpldapadmin, or otherwise manually upgrade your config
file?

I'm sorry, but no automatic upgrade can be performed for the configuration
file, which changed between the releases; the best I can do is to document
such a change in README.Debian and/or NEWS.Debian.

Best regards,
Fabio

Bug#578996: libtool: LT_LIBM doesn't work properly on AIX

2010-04-24 Thread Török Edwin
Package: libtool
Version: 2.2.6b-2
Severity: normal

ClamAV uses LT_LIB_M to find the math library.
It failed on AIX, see https://wwws.clamav.net/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1989

configure:12861: checking for cos in -lm
configure:12886: gcc -o conftest -DSYSV -D_AIX -D_AIX32 -D_AIX41 -D_AIX43

conftest.c:53: warning: conflicting types for built-in function 'cos'
collect2: library libm not found
configure:12895: result: no

Looks like the macro looks for cos in -lm, and if it does't find it there,
it assumes that no library is needed for it.
But that is not the case here (the user didn't have libm
installed).

I think this macro should fail at configure time, and tell the user to install
libm, if it can't find the cos() function at all.

Bug#578997: devscripts: bts.pl - [man] use normal single quotes and not backtick

2010-04-24 Thread Jari Aalto
Package: devscripts
Version: 2.10.64
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

The manual page reads:

   submitter bug [bug ...] submitter-email
Change the submitter address of a bug or a number of bugs, with `!'
meaning
`use the address on the current email as the new submitter address'.
[...]

In some places like above, there is uneven quotes that start with a
backtick. Please prefer normal single-single or double-double quote
pairs.

For more information aboout the use of quotes, refer to:

ASCII and Unicode quotation marks by Markus Kuhn
http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/ucs/quotes.html

Summary: Please do not use the ASCII grave accent (0x60) as a left
quotation mark together with the ASCII apostrophe (0x27) as the
corresponding right quotation mark (as in `quote'). Your text will
otherwise appear rather strange with most modern fonts (e.g., on
Windows and Mac systems). Only old X Window System fonts and some
old video terminals show ASCII 0x60/0x27 as left and right
quotation marks, while most modern systems follow the ISO and
Unicode standards instead. If you can use only ASCII’s typewriter
characters, then use the apostrophe character (0x27) as both the
left and right quotation mark (as in 'quote'). If you can use
Unicode characters, nice directional quotation marks are available
in the form of characters U+2018, U+2019, U+201C, and U+201D (as
in ‘quote’ or “quote”).

Bug#578999: devscripts: bts.pl - Use qx() in place of backtics

2010-04-24 Thread Jari Aalto
Package: devscripts
Version: 2.10.64
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

The following patch suggest using qx() shell call syntax in place of
backtics.

Motivation:

1) Improved redability. Cases like:

   echo this `date '+%Y%m%d'`
   =
   echo this $(date '+%Y%m%d')

2) No font problems. On a small 10 inch netbook the backtics are
difficult to distinguish from other charatcers.

3) Easier typing. In non-US keyboards the backtics are not in so
convenient location. Accessing the backtick requires acrobatic
skills with a combination of AltGr + KEY + SPACE

The patch is against Git bc4d573

Bug#575031: [Pkg-ltsp-devel] Bug#575031: creating virtual devices for fuse mounts?

2010-04-24 Thread Oliver Grawert
hi,
Am Freitag, den 23.04.2010, 13:08 -0700 schrieb Vagrant Cascadian:
 greetings.

i'm trying to figure out how feasible it is to create some sort of virtual
device for mountpoints mounted with fuse.

i'm hoping this is the appropriate place for such a message... if not, please
suggest a better place for such a question.

as best i can figure out, KDE and LXDE use hal or udev/udisks properties for
their file manager to recognize mounted devices or devices available for
 mounting.

with fuse mounts, there is no associated device or udev event, as far as i can
 tell.

in particular, i'm working with ltspfs, which is a remote fuse filesystem used
for LTSP thin-clients. ltspfs on the client-side has udev rules to detect
device insertion/removal, and then connects to the server that the user is
logged into, and sets up a fuse mount server-side that the user then accesses.

with GNOME, it recognizes mounts done in /media/, and so ltspfs mounts remote
devices in /media and it gets recognized by GNOME's filemanager. but KDE and
LXDE don't handle mounts in /media in the same way, so ltspfs mounts that
happen in /media and are not recognized by the filemanager (other than simply
browsing to the mountpoint, like any other filesystem).

a bug reported against ltspfs in debian:

   http://bugs.debian.org/575031

is there some way to emulate a device, creating a virtual device in the
hal/udev/udisks/devicekit namespace? a short-term approach that could be used,
or a longer-term vision for how to handle these sorts of situations?

with hal it was possible to use hal-add-device and a script to create a
virtual device [1] but hal is dead beef upstream. take a look at what
the udisks package ships in /lib/udev/rules.d/, it should be possible to
write a rule that makes udisks create a virtual disk here.

ciao
oli

Bug#579001: Option to hide nagstamon if everything is ok

2010-04-24 Thread Joachim Breitner
Package: nagstamon
Version: 0.9.2-2
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream, patch

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi,

please allow me to track a bug report here that I already filed upstream
as
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailaid=2972096group_id=236865atid=1101373

I’m just monitoring a small server that usually is just fine, therefore,
most of the time I do not care about nagios or nagstamon.

I’d appreciate an option to make nagstamon hide the status when
everything is ok. This would require a way to fireup the nagstamon
configuration from command line (e.g. nagstamon --configure), similar to
what mail-notification does.

The upstream bug report contains a series of patches implementing this
feature, together with an option to turn it off. As I have to patch each
release of nagstamon, I can provide an updated patch if needed.

Greetings,
Joachim

Bug#579002: libgnustep-dl2-0: Typo in the dependency on gnustep-dl2-postgresql-adaptor

2010-04-24 Thread Yavor Doganov
Package: libgnustep-dl2-0
Version: 0.12.0-1
Severity: normal

I was just upgrading one of my Squeeze machines and noticed that the

Shipping with Squeeze should meets *quality*. You may try the currently
version of LXDM on our git repo. I noticed some critical issuess from my
test. So I don't think we should be able to ship the currently version
with Squeeze.

However the problems seems has been solved in upstream, and now our LXDE
packaging team member Nikolas Poniros is working on this. It would be
great if you may help to improve the *quality* of LXDM either in
upstream or on the packaging part.

And we expected to packaging a new upstream release soon.

Bug#578764: 'commit -a' safety (was: Re: Please default to 'commit -a' when no changes were added)

2010-04-24 Thread Jakub Narebski
Jonathan Nieder jrnie...@gmail.com writes:

Starting out, I can see how it would be comforting to people if
‘git commit’ would default to -a behavior if they ignore the index.
That is logically a different operation, though, so it would also send
a wrong message and make it harder in the long run to get used to the
 interface.

I agree that making 'git commit' do 'git commit -a' if there are no
staged changes would be a bad change.

Instead, I think it would be better to focus on making the error
message more helpful. Right now there is a screen full of status
before the advice, which might make it easy to get scared before
 reading it.

Here’s a very rough patch to suppress that screenful. What do you
 think?

It's a pity that people didn't concentrate on this part: improving
error message...

On a bit unrelated note what I'd like to have is 'git commit -a'
(optional) safety against accidentally getting rid of staged changes.

I'd like for 'git commit -a' to *fail* if there are staged changes for
tracked files, excluding added, removed and renamed files. If you
have some staged changes you would get an error message:

  $ git add tracked-file
  $ git commit -a
fatal: There are staged changes to tracked files
hint: To commit staged changes, use 'git commit'
hint: To commit all changes, use 'git commit -f -a'

Perhaps this behavior would be turned on only if some config option,
like commit.preserveIndex or something like that is set to true...

Bug#579008: ocrfeeder: included module 'util' breaks exfalso/quodlibet

2010-04-24 Thread Stephan Braun
Package: ocrfeeder
Version: 0.6.6-1
Severity: critical
Tags: sid
Justification: breaks unrelated software

After installing ocrfeeder the included module 'util' is installed for
system wide python access. This breaks exfalso/quodlibet, because they
try to access their own 'util' module, but get the one of ocrfeeder
instead and therefore crash at startup.

Bug#578764: 'commit -a' safety

2010-04-24 Thread Miles Bader
Jakub Narebski jna...@gmail.com writes:
I'd like for 'git commit -a' to *fail* if there are staged changes for
tracked files, excluding added, removed and renamed files. If you
have some staged changes you would get an error message:

   $ git add tracked-file
   $ git commit -a
fatal: There are staged changes to tracked files
hint: To commit staged changes, use 'git commit'
hint: To commit all changes, use 'git commit -f -a'

That's bad because of the dual nature of git add -- someone may
normally use -a most of the time to commit changes, but has really no
choice other than git add to add a new file, So with this change, their
normal (and reasonable) habits would suddenly result in failure.

I think it's sort of annoying that git add has such a dual meaning
(instead of, for instance, having separate add and stage commands)
-- it's one of the more confusing things about learning about git
-- but oh well, it's unlikely to get changed at this point

Bug#543196: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the tunapie package

2010-04-24 Thread Christian PERRIER
Dear maintainer of tunapie and Debian translators,

Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the tunapie Debian
package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation
update in the BTS.

I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload
for this package in order to fix this long-time pending localization
bug as well as all other pending translations.

The package maintainer agreed for the NMU or did not respond in four
days, so I will proceed with the NMU.

The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail.

The package is currently translated to:
cs de fr ja nl pt ru sv

Among these, the following translations are incomplete: none

If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get
ANOTHER mail with the translation to update.

Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations
for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report
against the tunapie package so I can incorporate them in the build.

The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Friday, April 30,
2010. If you
are not in time you can always send your translation to the BTS.

The POT file is attached to this mail.

If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my NMU
and send him/her all updates I receive.

Otherwise the following will happen (or already has):

Monday, April 19, 2010 : send the first intent to NMU notice to
 the package maintainer.
Saturday, April 24, 2010 : send this notice
Friday, April 30, 2010 : (midnight) deadline for receiving translation
updates
Saturday, May 01, 2010 : build the package and upload it to DELAYED/7-day
send the NMU patch to the BTS
Saturday, May 08, 2010 : NMU uploaded to incoming

Thanks for your efforts and time.

Bug#579012: dpkg-dev: Don't auto generate patches for quilt format.

2010-04-24 Thread Kurt Roeckx
Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.15.7.1
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

It's currently auto creating patches for things that changed
compared to the upstream version. I find it rather annoying,
because most of the time it's something left behind that just
needed to be cleaned up, like a .orig or .rej file or something.

I would like to have an option that instead of creating a patch
that it just returned an error.

Bug#564943: scrotwm key bindings

It seems like Xorg is undergoing a lot of updates and changes, lately,

I think it's not video drivers, because I tried to run scrotwm with two
X servers -- one on Nvidia and another on ATI with the same result.
In both cases it was 1:7.3+20 from stable.

Scrotwm itself was installed on both stable and testing. And, by the
way, 0.9.23 still has the bug.

Do both of you still get the bug?

Yes. Hannes, did you try to start scrotwm from an X terminal?

If either of you does, I’ll get in touch with the upstream maintainer.

Yes, please do it. I have no more ideas.

Thanks!

 Hello Tobias,

 Hello Sandro,

 thanks for looking into it!

you're welcome

 After transferring the bug report,

do you mean after Submit the bug report via email?
Yes, exactly. After that the bug report gets transferred but reportbug
 crashes.

Anyhow, I can't replicate your report in an unstable system.
It crashed here after submitting a bug report for gconf2 however after
submitting the bugreport for reportbug it did not crash.

I tried it with gconf2 too, and works fine here.

The gdb backtrace makes me think there is a problem with your GTK+
stack, and since you're using testing that might be the main cause.
Did you try to contact the GTK+ maintainer? I'm adding them in the
loop, so they can inspect it (I'll reassign to them in some days in
case of no reply will come).
No, I did not contact them as I thought - inspecting the generated eror
report - that the bug did not have anything to do with GTK2.
 Maybe I overlooked something.

Well, reporbug is in python, the traceback is for C code, inside
pango/glib/libgtk, so the problem seems to be in the libraries
reportbug uses not in reportbug itself.

Bug#579013: eric: Segmentation fault at start

Hello,

After a dist-upgrade on Debian Sid, eric is segfaulting immediatly after

python-kde3 o 4 are not installed. Having python-sip4, python-sip-dev, python-
sip4-dev installed or not does not change its behavior.

That seems to be it, since the attached patch fixes the issue at least
for me on my HP Compaq 615.

I'm raising the severity because of two reasons:

* on this machine the Fn-keys for adjusting the brightness don't work,
so with g-p-m not working either I have no way to adjust the display
  brightness.
Combined with the fact that the brightness is set to minimal after
suspending this makes the machine unusable until a reboot.

* the Archlinux bug report[1] mentions two laptops with
broken brightness control - so I think we have at least four *very*
different machines where brightness control doesn't work without hal:
ThinkPads, Macbooks, Toshiba Notebooks and HP Compaq Notebooks.

Like Brian Johnson[2] I think that more or less all laptops have lost
brightness functionality in g-p-m. However, if the maintainer disagrees,
don't hesitate to lower the severity.

Best Regards

Bug#579014: A new major stable release 0.18.0 of the pixman library is now available

2010-04-24 Thread Marc J. Driftmeyer
Package: pixman
Version: pixman 0.18.0
Severity: normal

A new major stable release 0.18.0 of the pixman library is now available.

New features:
-
- Support for creating regions from images [Alexander Larsson]
- Improved support for images larger than 16 bits [Benjamin Otte]

Performance improvements:
-

Performance was a major theme of this release. Optimizations include:

- Faster rescaling with nearest filter [Alexander Larsson, Siarhei
Siamashka, Søren Sandmann Pedersen]
- Faster rescaling with bilinear filter [André Tupinambá]
- Many new fast paths for ARM NEON [Siarhei Siamashka]
- Faster unantialised text rendering [Siarhei Siamashka]
- Reduced overhead in fast path lookup [Søren]

Results from a number of benchmarks in the cairo performance test
suite on x86 and ARM. A number such as 1.84x means that on that particular
benchmark pixman 0.18.0 runs 1.84 times faster than pixman 0.16.6.

Bug#554841: [Debian-ha-maintainers] Bug#554841: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the redhat-cluster package

2010-04-24 Thread Guido Günther
On Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 12:13:23PM +0200, Christian PERRIER wrote:
Dear maintainer of redhat-cluster and Debian translators,

Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the redhat-cluster Debian
package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation
 update in the BTS.
Please note that all l10n bugs are marked as pending. They'll be fixed
with the next move of RHCS from experimental to unstable.

Since I'd like to avoid the mild chaos regarding up to date translations
in unstable vs. experimental we had last time I'd probably be simpler to
just drop the NMU and wait until RHCS moves from experimental to
unstable.

Cheers and thanks for taking care of the l10n stuff,

Bug#578764: 'commit -a' safety (was: Re: Please default to 'commit -a' when no changes were added)

El 24/04/2010, a las 11:40, Jakub Narebski escribió:

It's a pity that people didn't concentrate on this part: improving
 error message...

On a bit unrelated note what I'd like to have is 'git commit -a'
(optional) safety against accidentally getting rid of staged changes.

I'd like for 'git commit -a' to *fail* if there are staged changes for
tracked files, excluding added, removed and renamed files. If you
have some staged changes you would get an error message:

  $ git add tracked-file
  $ git commit -a
fatal: There are staged changes to tracked files
hint: To commit staged changes, use 'git commit'
hint: To commit all changes, use 'git commit -f -a'

Perhaps this behavior would be turned on only if some config option,
like commit.preserveIndex or something like that is set to true...

For me this is going to far. While we don't want to make it _easy_ for users to
shoot themselves in the foot, neither do we want to make it difficult or
impossible for them to get the tool to do things that _might_ be a mistake. And
what's the risk here? Accidentally committing too much is not a destructive
change, and can be easily undone.

Where do we stop here with the hand-holding? Would you also want a fatal error
here?:

$ git add foo
$ git commit -- bar
fatal: There are staged changes to tracked files

IMO, the fact that the commit message editor is populated with a list of
changed files that will be included in the commit is enough for people to see
what's actually going to happen.

Cheers,
Wincent

Bug#441370: closed by Fathi Boudra f...@debian.org (reply to f...@debian.org) (stellarium-data: Contain architecture specific files in 'all' package)

2010-04-24 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
[Fathi Boudra]
not a bug, .mo files aren't arch specific.

I'm fine with you refusing to fix this, but thought it best to get the
facts right.

The .mo files are architecture specific. They are either little or
big endian, depending on the architecture they were generated on. As
far as I know, the gettext library is able to read files using both
endian types, but read the non-native endian type files slower than
those with native endianess. So this bug is about speed, not the
ability to read the files.

Notice the 'little endian' output from file:

  % file /usr/share/locale/el/LC_MESSAGES/stellarium.mo
  /usr/share/locale/el/LC_MESSAGES/stellarium.mo: GNU message catalog
(little endian), revision 0, 488 messages
  %

See
URL: http://www.gnu.org/software/hello/manual/gettext/MO-Files.html
for details.

Happy hacking,

Bug#441370: closed by Fathi Boudra f...@debian.org (reply to f...@debian.org) (stellarium-data: Contain architecture specific files in 'all' package)

2010-04-24 Thread Fathi Boudra
Hi Petter,

On Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 2:27 PM, Petter Reinholdtsen
I'm fine with you refusing to fix this, but thought it best to get the
 facts right.

The .mo files are architecture specific.

I don't refuse to fix this bug. As I'm preparing a NMU for stellarium,
I cleaned up its bugs a bit.

About this issue specifically, there's many packages [1] in the
archive shipping locale files in arch. independent packages. I think a
better approach is to move the discussion on debian-devel mailing list
and mass-bug filling the related packages, depending of the result of
the discussion.

What do you think ?

[1] Note: I didn't checked the exact number.

Cheers,

Fathi

I don't refuse to fix this bug. As I'm preparing a NMU for
stellarium, I cleaned up its bugs a bit.

Fine with me. This issue do not affect my usage of this great
package. :)

About this issue specifically, there's many packages [1] in the

a better approach is to move the discussion on debian-devel mailing

 result of the discussion.

 What do you think ?

This has been discussed on -devel already, and I do not see the
advantage of bringing it up again. See
URL: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2009/01/msg00452.html for
the start of the last thread.

Not sure if any conclusion was reached nor if anything was added to
the developers reference to document best practice.

Happy hacking,

Bug#579022: audacity: cannot record stuff

2010-04-24 Thread Toni Mueller
Package: audacity
Version: 1.3.12-2
Severity: important

Hello,

I'm trying out audacity, and encounter the following problem:

At startup:

$ audacity
Expression 'stream-capture.pcm' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c',
line: 3653
Expression 'stream-capture.pcm' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c',
line: 3653
Expression 'stream-capture.pcm' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c',
line: 3653

When the GUI is up, I cannot easily chose a recording device, and the
only sound that I'm able to record, if anything, is some jittering noise
that sounds much like an artifact, and remotely resembles a running
electric engine. The wave in the monitor remains flat, however.

Kind regards,

getting messages from freshclam (cron jobs) about some missing

Bug#579023: vim-gtk: Should distinguish Alt from 8th-bit-set characters

2010-04-24 Thread Vítor De Araújo
Package: vim-gtk

Since gVim handles keystrokes by itself, it should be able to distinguish
an Alt-letter combination from a character with the eighth bit set.
Currently if you say for example ':imap M-h foo', [g]Vim will substitute
'foo' for 'è' (e-grave).

Yes, with today's release of 10.04 (which hasn't actually appeared on the

yes. I've already started looking at it.

There's perhaps some merit in actually uploading 10.02 to let
snapshot.debian.org get hold of it -- any opinions?

I think in the face of the problems revolving around 10.02 described above
in this bug we can ignore snapshot.d.o since it would only resolve in
issues and bug-reports about 10.02 where we then have to point out that
10.04 is already in debian.

Right?

Cheers,

LocalSocketGroup was already set to clamav, and the mode is 666.

dpkg-reconfigure for clamav didn't appear to do anything, no files
altered in /etc/clamav

dpkg-reconfigure clamav-base asked questions, no files changed.

dpkg-reconfigure clamav-daemon asked questions, no files changed.

dpkg-reconfigure clamav-freshclam asked questions, no files
changed. It appears that freshclam updated properly, and was able
to contact the daemon as part of how dpkg-reconfigure finished for
freshclam. It would seem that the reconfigures did something, but
none of the changed were in /etc/clamav.

Want me to purge, reinstall and check something else?

 Hi George,

We got here a Debian bug:

Tried to build your package and it fails to build with GNU
binutils-gold. The important difference is that --no-add-needed is the
default behavior of of GNU binutils-gold. Please provide all needed
libraries to the linker when building your executables.

How to do explicitly link against libfreetype6 (or maybe libfontconfig1)
library? I've been unable to do so correctly.
Well, you are trying to build mensis in a way which isn't really
supported. It expects to dlopen freetype rather than link with it, and
that's all the Makefile/configure script was written to handle.

Bug#564943: scrotwm key bindings

2010-04-24 Thread Dmitry Derjavin
On Sat, Apr 24 2010 at 15:23, Andrea Bolognani wrote:

I think it's not video drivers, because I tried to run scrotwm with two
X servers -- one on Nvidia and another on ATI with the same result.

Scrotwm itself was installed on both stable and testing.

So, if I understand correctly, you have a mixed stable/testing setup,
with Xorg from stable and scrotwm from testing

Yes.

and another one which is pure stable, except from scrotwm, which is
 obviously not available from stable?

Yes, it is pure stable, but it acts as an X server only. All the
clients, including window managers are installed on the first box,
which is mixed stable/testing.

So, as I mentioned above, I have two X servers from stable with two
different drivers and one scrotwm from testing, which connects to X
server via tcp socket.

Could it be that this mixed setup is the cause of the bug? I’ve ran
scrotwm on several pure testing setups, some with Intel and some other
with Nvidia graphics, without hitting the bug.

Today I set up a container with pure testing inside and tried to run
scrotwm from it. Same thing.

So, it looks like you're right -- X server upgrade may help. But now
scrotwm is the only window manager I tried which does not work properly
with xorg from stable. Maybe we should not work around and leave the bug
unsolved, while we have a test case.

Bug#579025: libflac-dev: libFLAC.m4 may set empty -L flag

2010-04-24 Thread Thibaut VARENE
Package: libflac-dev
Version: 1.2.1-2+b1
Severity: important

In /usr/share/aclocal/libFLAC.m4:

  if test x$libFLAC_libraries != x ; then
LIBFLAC_LIBDIR=$libFLAC_libraries
  elif test x$libFLAC_prefix != x ; then
LIBFLAC_LIBDIR=$libFLAC_prefix/lib
  elif test x$prefix != xNONE ; then
LIBFLAC_LIBDIR=$libdir
  fi

  LIBFLAC_LIBS=-L$LIBFLAC_LIBDIR -lFLAC $OGG_LIBS -lm

In configure.ac, the usual:
AM_PATH_LIBFLAC( [], [echo *Coun't find FLAC library, disabling FLAC
support; flac=false])

Result in Makefile when configure is called without arguments:

LIBFLAC_LIBS = -L -lFLAC  -lm

Triggers the following error during build (at link time):

libtool: link: require no space between `-L' and `-lFLAC'

Fix: see /usr/share/aclocal/vorbis.m4 (from libvorbis-dev):

  if test x$vorbis_libraries != x ; then
VORBIS_LIBS=-L$vorbis_libraries
  elif test x$vorbis_prefix = xno || test x$vorbis_prefix = xyes ;
then
VORBIS_LIBS=
  elif test x$vorbis_prefix != x ; then
VORBIS_LIBS=-L$vorbis_prefix/lib
elif test x$prefix != xNONE; then
VORBIS_LIBS=-L$prefix/lib
  fi

  if test x$vorbis_prefix != xno ; then
VORBIS_LIBS=$VORBIS_LIBS -lvorbis -lm
  fi

This bug actually prevents packages using AM_PATH_LIBFLAC to build

Could you attach your (broken) config files? It should then be pretty easy for
us to reproduce the problem. My problem, however, is that I'm not all that sure
anymore what your actual problem is. Is it just that freshclam cannot use the
socket? Which user are you running freshclam as? Is it the same user that is
used for clamd?

Best,
Michael

Bug#578607: icedtea + noscript = browser crash

2010-04-24 Thread Hideki Yamane
Hi,

 I tested as below cases

 firefox + sun-java + noscript = works
 firefox + sun-java= works
 firefox + icedtea + noscript = crashes
 firefox + icedtea = works
 iceweasel + sun-java + noscript = works
 iceweasel + sun-java= works
 iceweasel + icedtea + noscript = crashes
 iceweasel + icedtea = works

  * note: iceweasel = 3.5.9 and 3.6.3
firefox is tested on Ubuntu 10.04 in kvm, when I use sun-java in
firefox,
those are downloaded one, not package.

This result means icedtea + noscript = browser crash

 And if net.ipv6.bindv6only=1 in /etc/sysctl.d/bindv6only.conf,
sun-java does not work (you know).

Also I tried to select with update-java-alternatives, but somehow it doesn't
 work well.

$ sudo update-java-alternatives -l
java-6-openjdk 1061 /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk
java-6-sun 63 /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun
$ sudo update-java-alternatives -s java-6-openjdk
$ ls /etc/alternatives/mozilla-javaplugin.so -al
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 57 2010-04-24 23:14
/etc/alternatives/mozilla-javaplugin.so -
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/lib/i386/IcedTeaPlugin.so
 - however sun-java plugin works...
$ aptitude remove sun-java6-plugin
 - icedtea works

Bug#452876: Symbols defined in libraries aren't correctly relocated

2010-04-24 Thread Thomas Preud'homme
retitle 452876 Symbols defined in libraries aren't correctly relocated
merge 452876 537622
thank you

These two bugs are both related to failed relocation with extern global
symbols. This would happen with any symbol defined in a library but used in a
program, such as errno, environ or sys_siglist (in the case of the mksh bug).

I'm working on that issue.

After the 4 dpkg-reconfigure runs, things seem to be working.
That was the end result mentioned above. That nothing in
/etc/clamav changed after the fresh re-install (after purging) was
interesting.

It is hard to see the config files as being broken, if they
weren't changed by any of the dpkg-reconfigure runs.

As I asked, I could easily purge them all again, and reinstall
again, to check other things (/var/run ?). Something must have
changed, in order for things to be working now, but not after the
initial install.
