Bug#585085: Update

2011-03-15 Thread Lawrence S K Ong
Issue occurs only against a user's secondary group. If two users belong to
the same primary group, they can both write to the same directory that is
writable by their primary group.

As a workaround, removing the following option from
/etc/default/nfs-kernel-server fixes the group permission issue.

RPCMOUNTDOPTS=--manage-gids

tag 618027 wheezy sid

Hi,

Add the wheezy and sid tags because this bug is caused by a change to
the linker's behavior that doesn't affect squeeze.

Hi, Nobuhiro,

SConstruct of sunpinyin does not support Renesas SuperH.
I made patch to support SH. Could you apply this patch?

I've applied your patch and upload sunpinyin 2.0.3-2 to mentors,

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/sunpinyin
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/sunpinyin/sunpinyin_2.0.3-2.dsc

For I don't have a SH4 test environment, would you like to help test it?

I think there may have been some confusion (although I'm not quite sure

Bug#618288: apt doesn't honor multiarch version requirements when configuring

Yes, I agree that this is probably caused by immediate configuration.
Unfortunately I can't easily rerun this to reproduce the problem, because I
encountered this in my active chroot which is now up to date. There are
only a small number of Multi-Arch: same packages in the world with which I
can test currently. :-) But I'll try your test case and see what happens.

Here's the test case output. Probably not what you were looking for. :)

I guess the test framework needs some updates to be usable with multiarch.
Well, let's try plugging in $(date -R -d '12:00').

Now I get this:

Thank you very much for the clarification.

Dear release team,

with these remarks from upstream, feel free to remove creox from
testing at your convinience.

I've discussed this briefly with Adrian on irc and we agreed on the
following:

 - creox can be removed at any time, preferably at the same time qt3 is
   removed
 - we will keep the creox packaging git in any case, maybe some
interested developer agrees to port to QT4/KDE4, in which case we are
   willing to reintroduce it
 - Adrian ask LAC for porting help

Ana, are there remaining open questions regarding creox?

Bug#617626: Status as of the ides of March.

2011-03-15 Thread PhillyG
I can now turn off the screen using fn+F1 (two keys on the iBook keyboard).
That may or may not be because I installed pmud and pmud-utils.
I can also boot into Mac OS X.

That means that the only issue left is that I can't use the local display in
debian.

This is important to me because sometimes my ssh connection closes and I can't
re-open it. I can tell that the system is up as I can access the web page. It
is almost as though the ssh port closes. Without a local display, I do not know
how to troubleshoot this problem.

Package: pgf
Version: 2.00-1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

I attach a patch against Debian packaging files for PGF 2.0 to fix
lintian complaints. The resulting Debian packaging works for me with
PGF 2.10. The patch makes the following changes

1) Uses dh_installtex for postinst and postrm and updates Build
Dependencies accordingly.

2) Updates pgf.doc-base

3) Removes the executable bit from some PGF source files

4) Changes compat level from 4 to 7.

In addition to this, the following steps need to be taken (not
included in patch):

5) Remove postinst, postrm, preinst, prerm.

Bug#618442: memdisk support confused by initrd.img

2011-03-15 Thread Trent W. Buck
Package: extlinux
Version: 2:4.03+dfsg-12
Severity: minor

I was really confused by this /boot/extlinux/memdisk.cfg in my
hand-bootstrapped images:

label m0
menu label Memdisk, image initrd.img
linux /boot/extlinux/memdisk
initrd /boot/initrd.img
append raw

From reading the source, this is because extlinux-update assumes any
file /boot/*.img or /boot/*.iso is a bootable root filesystem.

Obviously this is not the case for initrd.img, which is a symlink to
the current ramdisk -- created in /boot by the Debian kernel
infrastructure because kernel-img.conf contains

link_in_boot=yes

Which I added for my own static extlinux.conf :-)

PROMPT 0

not doing a lot (unless you are using a non-standard location for quilt
 patches).

Hi Niels,

yes, the false positive is trigerred by using patchsys-quilt.mk and
3.0 (quilt) at the same time.

One of the advantages of doing it is that it is easy to change the source
package format. To 1.0 for some backports, or to 3.0 (git) for fun and
learning.

Have a nice day,

Bug#617626: Booting into Mac OS X

2011-03-15 Thread PhillyG
I mentioned that I can now boot into Mac OS X (and I do not know why). As I was
re-reading my original installation-report I noticed something, and rebooted
the system to confirm:

Before: the choices were old and linux.

Now: the choices are linux, mac os, and cdrom.

It seems that either Yaboot (or whatever) has been changed; else I was not
seeing Yaboot before.

I didn't remember exactly what the original boot loader said but the current
one says:

First Stage GNU/Linux Bootstrap

Press l for Linux
Press m for Mac OS
Press c for CDROM

Stage 1 Boot:

After about 10 seconds it defaults to Linux and boots.

-

As for the screen dim/shutoff - it is an iffy thing. Sometimes fn+F1 works and
sometimes just F1 works.

Bug#618445: apt: Please downgrade There is no public key available ... to a notice

2011-03-15 Thread Uwe Kleine-König
Package: apt
Version: 0.8.10
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

Hello,

I'm about to change the gpg key used to sign our apt and so signed the
archive for now with two keys and will update the keyring package to
contain the new key soon.

The problem I'm faced with now is that if apt only knows one of the
two keys used it prints a warning

W: There is no public key available for the following key IDs:
...

I don't know if this is the only situation where this warning is issued,
but if it is (and the comment[1] in the source makes me believe it is) IMHO
a notice would be enough.
The main difference is that a notice doesn't result in a red box that
looks too important for me in aptitude.

For now I simply don't remove the old key from the keyring package yet
such that the warning goes away when the most recent version is
installed.

So the remaining downsides are that I need to update the keyring package
once more when the old key is expired (well or ignore that and simply
ship two keys) and that the users of our repository see the warning
until they update the keyring package (and have to update once more
later).

Best regards
Uwe

Bug#607173: suggest add gcc dependency

Hi Giuseppe,

I didn't see your reply, because you didn't cc me, and the Debian BTS
doesn't automatically subscribed reporters to the bug - a bug itself, imo.

My point was simply that since chromium depends on more recent versions of
gcc, you should add a build dependency on gcc. If chromium FTBFS on lenny
because the gcc version is not recent enough, that's not something you can
do anything about. However, if there is a build dependency on gcc, it
won't try to build in the first place.

Bug#616663: [libglew1.5] Sorry

2011-03-15 Thread gregory hainaut
Steve,
I'm sorry. Yes I'm not an expert of Multiarch. I just read most of the
documentation as possible. But it seems I failed to understand it
correctly.

Instead, it tells the package manager that the 64-bit version of the
library satisfies the dependencies of 32-bit packages!
My understanding was that 32bits library (could) satisfies the
depencencies of a 64 bits package. So if I understand foreign is only for
non-architecture dependent package and maybe binary. Yes an howto will
be good to clarify multi arch for end users. I will wait it and the
support of 'same' in the archive.

Sounds too good to be true ;-) Can you elaborate if this still requires

Also, can it work over a HTTP proxy? Many WLAN networks only let you

3) The package was buggy.
4) Therefore the maintainer requests its removal.
5) Therefore they filles this is a bug against ftp.debian.org.

7) Therefore reopening it will do nothing to bring the package back, but

The ftp-team won't make the package magically reappear in the archive.
It has already been pointed out, that if you want to have that package

the old maintainers don't want to upload it back. Please either do that,

As long as the correct Provides/Conflicts/Replaces stuff is added, I

 perl-modules needs to be changed.

My understanding is that no changes are needed to the CPAN versions

Bug#618413: (no subject)

2011-03-15 Thread Andrea Palazzi
--- Mar 15/3/11, Miguel Figueiredo el...@debianpt.org ha scritto:

There are issues with your network connection. The network
card reports some warnings about not being able to load

 Mar 15 00:14:58 kernel: [   29.043224] eth0:
 unable to apply firmware patch
Yes, I didn't load the firmware required, however this should not influence
the formatting or the LVM initialization part...

I'm not sure this is normal, trying to mount sda3 (your
 linux partition) on /media.
Let's see if someone can enlighten us on this.

 Mar 15 00:15:22 main-menu[514]: (process:3596): mount:
mounting /dev/sda3 on /media failed: Invalid argument
 Mar 15 00:15:22 main-menu[514]: (process:3596): umount:
 can't umount /media: Invalid argument

This may be another problem, however my installation fails earlier: I can't
neither format the partition - tried with ext3, ext4, XFS, JFS, but
unsuccessfully - nor create volume groups or physical volumes.
In the first case, in the console I have a message like this:

/dev/sda3 is apparently in use by the system; will not make a
filesystem here.

With LVM, the error is similar:

Can't open /dev/sda3 exclusively. Mounted filesystem?

It seems that something is using the partition, or didn't free it after
operating on it... how can I see if there is some process using the partition?

Bye
Andrea

Bug#618381: typo3-dummy: fails to install/uninstall without apache

2011-03-15 Thread Holger Levsen
severity 618381 important

Hi Claus,

thanks for your bug report!

On Montag, 14. März 2011, Claus Färber wrote:
When Apache 2.2 is not installed, typo3-dummy fails to install and,
which is more severe, to uninstall:

Actually, failing to install+remove is more severe than failing to purge,
though all of this is pretty bad. It just doesnt make the package completly
unusable for everyone.

 typo3-dummy should depend on apache2-common for a2dissite and a2ensite
to be available. Even better would be support for other HTTP servers,
 such as lighttpd.

Sure thing, patches welcome ;-) (I think there is already a wishlist bug about
this.)

(Please note that php5 depends on libapache2-mod-php5 |
libapache2-mod-php5filter | php5-cgi, only the first two options
 depend on apache2.2-common.)

Is this why you wrote typo3-dummy fails to install?

cheers,
Holger

Unlike ^C, ^G does nothing at all.

To recap:

 0. configure mutt to use IMAP over SSL
 1. make a 16 MiB file
 2. hit m to compose a message
 3. to: yourself.
 4. Subject: some boring subject.
 5. Text: some boring text.
 6. Attach the file.
 7. hit y to send.

Sending takes a while, naturally, so it shows progress as a fraction
of the size of the file. To reproduce the bug, act impatient.

 A. If you try to interrupt it with ^G, nothing happens (should
something happen?). It just continues.
 B. If you try to interrupt it with ^C, it stops and sits there.
 C. If you try to get it going again with ^G, nothing happens.
 D. If you attach with strace, you see that recv returns with
ERESTARTSYS each time you hit ^C.
 E. If you attach with gdb, you can recover by forcing recv to
return.

Probably there is a SIGINT handler with the SA_RESTART flag set.

Hope that helps,
Jonathan

In Debian Squeeze gplanarity becomes extremely slow in upper levels of play.
It gets to the point it is not playable where the moving circles are moved with

That's more likely a problem in the graphics drivers you're using than
in compiz.

The driver is nvidia, version 195.36.31+2+4+2.6.32-24. It is enough to
restore cursor visibility, then run metacity --replace and the problem
does not exist: after 10 resumes cursor never disappeared. Same driver,
same X Window session. Come back to 3D using compiz --replace,
suspend, resume and cursor disappears again.

Switching to metacity (metacity --replace, then compiz --replace)
does not bring cursor to a visible state. So does switching to first,
text console. The only workaround is to use Gnome - logout user -
switch user then login again to the same session.

Bug#618451: gnome-do: leaks huge amounts of memory

2011-03-15 Thread Romain Francoise
Package: gnome-do
Version: 0.8.4-1
Severity: serious

gnome-do recently started leaking memory very rapidly on my machine.
On one occasion it reached 14GB (RSS) before being killed by the
oom-killer.

After disabling all my plugins one by one, I found that this is
caused by the Files and Folders plugin. Starting with --debug in
the affected configuration shows one instance of the following error
message every time I move the mouse over the gnome-do window:

| [Error 21:21:25.735] [PluginManager] ObjectsForAddin encountered an error:

After disabling Files and Folders this message doesn't appear
anymore, and memory usage remains stable.

Sorry for the late reply, I forgot to test the fix.

I just tried to rebuild the package ConsoleKit with the patch
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=598150#110 mentioned in
#612392 and it fixes the problem for me.

So, I guess this bug can be tagged as duplicate of #612392, but the fix
is really in #598150.

I didn't tried the other patches in #598150, but I may have a look.

Hi John,

I orphaned xnec2c as part of a QA effort, and am not interested in it
specifically, so don't hesitate to go forward with adopting it.

You can find old versions of the package at

Could you type bt full at this point and send the output of that?

Additionally the output of your /proc/cpuinfo might be interesting,
as this might be something depending on the processor. (Or rather the
the code libc is using depending on the processor).

Bug#618453: emacs23: nxml-dynamic-markup-word misplaces closing tag

2011-03-15 Thread patrick mc allister
Package: emacs23
Version: 23.2+1-7
Severity: normal

Run emacs23 -Q and open an xml file in nxml-mode with the following content:

?xml version=1.0 encoding=utf-8?
dinner
  monday
firstCoursesoup/firstCourse
mainCoursepumpkin/mainCourse
  /monday
  tuesday
soup
  /tuesday
/dinner

Calling nxml-dynamic-markup-word with the cursor behind Tuesday's soup results
in

?xml version=1.0 encoding=utf-8?
dinner
  monday
firstCoursesoup/firstCourse/firstCourse
mainCoursepumpkin/mainCourse
  /monday
  tuesday
firstCoursesoup
  /tuesday
/dinner

The problem is that Monday's firstCourse is closed twice, and Tuesday's
firstCourse isn't closed.

I'd expect a result as follows:

?xml version=1.0 encoding=utf-8?
dinner
  monday
firstCoursesoup/firstCourse
mainCoursepumpkin/mainCourse
  /monday
  tuesday
firstCoursesoup/firstCourse

Please can you elaborate on the actual need for this.

Sorry, I made a mistake.

It seems that Ghostscript(libgs9-common) provides useless (empty)
cidfmap at /usr/share/ghostscript/9.01/Resource/Init/. However, the
priority of this path is higher than /var/lib/ghostscript/fonts.

   $  gs -h | sed -ne '/^Search path:/,/^[^ ]/{/^ /p}'
   /usr/share/ghostscript/9.01/Resource/Init :
   /usr/share/ghostscript/9.01/lib :
   /usr/share/ghostscript/9.01/Resource/Font :
   /usr/share/ghostscript/fonts : /var/lib/ghostscript/fonts :
   /usr/share/cups/fonts : /usr/share/ghostscript/fonts :
   /usr/local/lib/ghostscript/fonts : /usr/share/fonts

When I removed original cidfmap at /u/share/g/9/R/I/, gs/dvips/ps2pdfwr
runs fine.

I think that changing priority may cause some problems, so simple
solution is removing this file. Is it needed?

I believe I was told by Kenshi Muto that this indirection was no longer
needed. But I can very well be mistaken.

I don't know detail. Is it no longer needed?

Works fine for be. Tested on 0.6.6~rc2-1 and 0.6.6~rc3-1.
I assume you've configured the thing correctly? Namely:
 1) Block window close on new message is checked
 2) Max time to block window close is high enough to suit your needs

I've checked Block window ... and I've set Max time to block to 30
seconds, and it still doesn't work (on 0.6.6~rc3-1 too).
I've installed Kadu (0.6.6~rc2-1) on fresh Debian Squeeze and it doesn't work.

Bug#618455: buildd.debian.org: kfreebsd* buildd process results in maybe-failed for .dsc disabled arches.

2011-03-15 Thread Agustin Martin
Package: buildd.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hi,

Filing as normal, but may be important, this seems to affect migrations to
testing.

The history:

fuse-utils is not available for kfreebsd*, hence encfs and libpam-encfs, which
previously built for kfreebsd* were indeed not installable for it (#613289).
I have modified libpam-encfs to have arch 'linux-any' and the same was done
yesterday for encfs.

The problem is that kfreebsd* auto-builders download the package, read its
.dsc and notice that is a 'not-for-us', but return a 'maybe-failed'.
Same seems to happen for hurd and libpam.encfs (encfs was not yet
processed), but this is not a stopper.

The consequence seems to be that libpam-encfs, which has been for 14 days in
sid, does not migrate to testing, apparently because of the

 * out of date on kfreebsd-amd64: libpam-encfs (from 0.1.4.4-1)
 * out of date on kfreebsd-i386: libpam-encfs (from 0.1.4.4-1)

messages, and I'd expect the same to happen in some days to encfs.

Since package previously existed for that arch (although uninstalable), I
cannot discard that there is also a problem with migration scripts, but I
think buildd is the first place to care.

Regards,

The new version of libgpod build-depends on mono-devel, which is not

conditional if possible, or get the out of date packages removed from
unstable by filing a bug against ftp.debian.org.

Bug#618458: gkrellmd: fails to purge - command (deluser|adduser) in postrm not found

2011-03-15 Thread Holger Levsen
Package: gkrellmd
Version: 2.3.4-1
Severity: important
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts piuparts.d.o

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to purge due to a
command not found. According to policy 7.2 you cannot rely on the depends
being available during purge, only the essential packages are available for
sure.

Filing this as important because a.) it's a clear policy violation (to not
clean up at purge) b.) having a piuparts clean archive is a release goal
since lenny and c.) this package being piuparts buggy blocks packages
depending on it from being tested by piuparts (and thus possibly the
detection of more severe problems).

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

0m12.5s DEBUG: Starting command:

The fix should be easy: your package is using adduser or deluser from the
adduser package, which is only priority important. Using useradd or userdel
from the passwd package should fix this problem.

Hi,

The problem was in the fact that sda was prevoiusly part of a software (mdadm)

I solved the issue with mdadm --stop /dev/md0; mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sda

Thanks for the assistance.

Bug#615125: I have investigated missing xhtml dtd breaks wdg-html-validator

2011-03-15 Thread Nicholas Bamber

tag 615125 - confirmed + moreinfo
affects 615125 - w3c-markup-validator
severity important
thanks

Joey,
I think a little more investigation is required. For a start if I purge
w3c-sgml-lib and install w3c-dtd-xhtml no such file is found in a manual
inspection of the file system. Issues that I thought were related and an
indication of something seriously wrong, turned out to be minor and
unrelated. Using xmlcatalog I cannot see any obvious incompatibility. In
theory I should install wdg-html-validator and try and work out what it
is doing to fail, but I would rather avoid that as the package is
orphaned and I would feel compelled to adopt it and I already have
enough (if not too many) Debian commitments.

I would really appreciate it if someone could point out what
wdg-html-validator and I could put that in a script as an integrity
check inside w3c-sgml-lib.

Then there is the more general question of why I did things the way I
did. I wanted to discuss this six months ago when I started working on
the w3c-markup-validator but there were few takers. w3c-sgml-lib is
intended as a direct substitute for w3c-dtd-xhtml. Both packages have
the same upstream source. However the w3c-dtd-xhtml has an arbitary
layout that bears no relation to the upstream. Whereas w3c-sgml-lib
attempts to follow upstream but provide soft links that give backward
compatibility. Obviously I hope w3c-dtd-xhtml will be phased out.

If it turns out that there is a genuine incompatibility between the two
packages then I would have to add a Conflicts clause rather than the
current Breaks/Provides. However that would seem to be less than ideal.

Nicholas

Bug#618398: dictionaries-common-dev: Package build with auto-hash fails to install if it doesn't provide /var/lib/ispell/dictionary.hash

On Mon, Mar 14, 2011 at 10:18:08PM +0100, Robert Luberda wrote:

 Hi,

While experimenting with using `auto-hash' entries for ibritish/iamerican
packages, I've found that a dictionary package fails to install when
 the following conditions are met:

  - dictionary provided in the package is selected as the default one
  - /var/lib/ispell/$dict.hash file doesn't exist (e.g. this is an
initial install, the file is not provided by the package itself, and
ispell-autobuildhash hasn't been run yet).

The autogenerated posinst contains the following:

   # Automatically added by installdeb-ispell
   dico_class=ispell
   dico_compat=british.compat british-huge.compat british-large.compat
 british-small.compat

   for i in $dico_compat; do
   /var/lib/$dico_class/$i
   done

It seems that the existance of the default link is checked before
ispell-autobuildhash got a chance to be called, so I think sth like
the following should be added to postinst (and I've just checed that
 it actually solves the problem):

   hash_files=
   for i in $hash_files; do
  touch /var/lib/$dico_class/$i # or /var/lib/$dico_class/$i,
  # if it's OK to overwrite the file
 contents, It probably
  # should be fine, as
 ispell-autobuildhash will overwrite it anyway
   done

Hi, Robert, thanks for debugging,

I have moved ispell-autobuildhash call at update-default-ispell before the
symlinking step. I'd expect this to also fix the problem.

Bug#618382: zfsutils: Inability to have /usr on a seperate zfs filesystem when using a zroot.

2011-03-15 Thread Aurelien Jarno
Tiernan Messmer a écrit :
 Package: zfsutils
 Version: 8.1-4
 Severity: normal
 Usertags: kfreebsd

If running Debian/kFreeBSD's root filesystem on zfs, if one attempts to put
/usr in a sub filesystem the system will no longer boot.

 Example filesystem layout
 NAME MOUNTPOINT
 zroot /zroot
 zroot/debian /
 zroot/debian/usr /usr
 zroot/home/home

By default, the installer will place the entire filesytem in the zroot,
without creating any additional sub filesystems. ZFSs flexibility encourages
 the use of
many filessytems to facilitate the fine grained control of ZFSs more advanced
features such as snapshots, compression, deduplication, encryption, etc.

The reason why the system fails to boot is during init, to mount the
additional filesystems, /sbin/zfs is called, which depends on
 /lib/libgeom.so.0, which in
turn depends on /usr/lib/libexpat.so.1. If /usr/lib does not reside on the
same filesystem as the kernel mounted for root, /sbin/zfs fails to run, and
 thus can
 not mount the additional filesystems.

It looks like the solution here is to move /usr/lib/libexpat.so.1. to /lib

On FreeBSD libgeom depends on /lib/libbsdxml instead of libexpat, thus
upstream is unaffected by this issue.

libbsdxml is basically the same library than libexpat, which seems to
confirm the solution given above is the right one.

Bug#465900: perlsgml: requesting removal

Hi!

* Luca Falavigna dktrkr...@debian.org [110304 23:38]:

 # Broken Build-Depends:
 alcovebook-sgml: perlsgml

Should that package be removed as well? Last upload was in 2006, no
reaction to some bug reports since quite some time and popcon shows
pretty low usage as well.

Maintainer(s), please speak up NOW if you want to keep your package.

Best Regards,
  Alexander

Bug#612759: No bug!

2011-03-15 Thread Jan-Peter Stripp

Hello,

I had the same problem with kernel version 2.6.37! But i solved the
problem by unsetting the kernel option:

General Setup ---
.
[ ] enable deprecated sysfs features to support old userspace tools
.

(CONFIG_SYSFS_DEPRECATED)

Hope that will help!

Bug#618463: mdadm: Mdadm grow of Raid1 destroys metadata

2011-03-15 Thread Michael Gebetsroither
Package: mdadm
Version: 2.6.7.2-3
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss

Hi,

mdadm --grow /dev/mdX --size=max shreded the second raid1 array here.

Commands where as following:
lvextend -L +10G vda/opt
lvextend -L +10G vdb/opt
mdadm --grow /dev/md2 --size=max

All commands returned without errors, but the array didn't grow in
size.

After that the array was still running but the metadata destroyed.
# mdadm -D /dev/md2
/dev/md2:
Version : 00.90
  Creation Time : Tue Jul 14 13:43:19 2009

mdadm: No md superblock detected on /dev/vda/opt.
# mdadm -E /dev/vdb/opt
mdadm: No md superblock detected on /dev/vdb/opt.

After mdadm --stop /dev/md2 the array couldn't be reassambled.

To fix this problem i simply recreated the array with:
# mdadm --create --assume-clean /dev/md2 -l1 -n2 /dev/vda/opt /dev/vdb/opt
mdadm: /dev/vda/opt appears to contain an ext2fs file system

mdadm: /dev/vdb/opt appears to contain an ext2fs file system
size=10485696K  mtime=Tue Feb 22 12:28:24 2011
Continue creating array? yes
mdadm: array /dev/md2 started.

Bug#618464: Typo in a .desktop entry

2011-03-15 Thread Andrea Carpineti
Package: gameconqueror
Version: 0.11-1
Severity: minor

Hi,
I'm reporting a typo in the Comment entry of the .desktop file.

This minor bug was originally posted in Ubuntu's Launchpad concerning an
application
which uses the .desktop files to present to the user a list of applications
which
can be installed or removed.

More details can be found at:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/app-install-data-ubuntu/+bug/05
http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s05.html

Thanks,
Andrea

PS: I believe this should be fixed upstream (the upstream version have a
.desktop file)

Bug#618277: PHASE mismatch in ifupdown script

2011-03-15 Thread Tormod Volden
On Tue, Mar 15, 2011 at 12:46 PM, Kel Modderman wrote:
Can you explain what is actually wrong with the shell code I've been using for
a few years, which stops it from functioning as advertised?

I'm not going to be interested enough to consume time investigating a problem
 based on a guess.

 Thanks, Kel.

Hi Kel,

Yes, by analyzing the code I can say what goes wrong: Upon network
interface activation, the action intended for the post-up phase is
not executed (because the script is not in any if-post-up.d directory
- it is linked in the if-up.d directory but $PHASE will here be up).
The action in question is init_wpa_cli() from functions.sh. This
function only does something if $WPA_ACTION_SCRIPT is set. Therefore
if you personally have been using this code for some years without
WPA_ACTION_SCRIPT set, you would not have experienced any problem.
What the advertised use for this is, I do not know. But it is
certainly not working as intended. So I will /guess/ ;) there are
users out there who have problems with their WPA_ACTION_SCRIPT setup.

Upon network deactivation, for the same reasons, kill_wpa_supplicant()
is not run. This I can verify myself even without using WPA: 1. See
that there is a running /sbin/wpa_supplicant process. 2. Deactivate
networking for instance with nm-applet. 3. See that
/sbin/wpa_supplicant, against intended behaviour, is still running and
has therefore not been killed by kill_wpa_supplicant() . In case you
added that logger line, you can see how the ifupdown script is called.
This is not a guess :)

Bug#618466: RM: libpam-encfs [kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386] -- ANAIS; old uninstallable kfreebsd* binaries prevent migration to testing of new package.

2011-03-15 Thread Agustin Martin
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

(please explain the reason for the removal here)

Note: this was a request for a partial removal from testing, converted in one
for unstable

fuse-utils is not available for kfreebsd*, hence encfs and libpam-encfs,
which previously built for kfreebsd* were indeed not installable for it
(#613289).

I have modified libpam-encfs to have arch 'linux-any' and the same was done
yesterday for encfs.

libpam-encfs has been for 14 days in sid, but does not migrate to testing,
apparently because of the

 * out of date on kfreebsd-amd64: libpam-encfs (from 0.1.4.4-1)
 * out of date on kfreebsd-i386: libpam-encfs (from 0.1.4.4-1)

messages caused by useless binary packages for those architectures
(I'd expect the same to happen in some days to encfs, separate bug report
will be filed).

Please remove useless kfreebsd-amd64 and kfreebsd-i386 binary packages from
testing.

Thanks,

Agustin

Bug#618467: [gsfonts-x11] wrong case for PostScript in extended description

2011-03-15 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: gsfonts-x11
Version: 0.22
Severity: minor

The extended description starts with:

This package makes the 35 Postscript fonts from the gsfonts package
available to your X server under their urw names and via
fonts.alias with the official adobe names, too.

The correct case for PostScript has the s for Script capitalized.

Bug#618413: (no subject)

2011-03-15 Thread Andrea Palazzi
Maybe a warning should be raised if a software raid is found on the system
at the very beginning of the partition process? Before the partition
process no md array is supposed to be here, and if the system finds some
metadata beloging to an array no longer in use, the user should be able to
reset the data without using the shell... that would make life easier.

Bye
Andrea

Bug#618277: PHASE mismatch in ifupdown script

2011-03-15 Thread Tormod Volden
Sorry, I messed up the deactivation part in my explanation: It is the
pre-down clause that never is executed (as hinted by my patch), that
is kill_wpa_cli(). That wpa_supplicant was still running, is a
different bug/feature (fwiw there is no pid-file).

kill_wpa_cli() also depends on a pid-file, which I do not have on my
system. So it won't do anything here, but again, I am not even using
WPA.

Bug#618468: iceweasel: text not completely redrawn when scrolling to the right

2011-03-15 Thread Vincent Lefevre
Package: iceweasel
Version: 3.5.17-1
Severity: minor

When scrolling to the right, text may not completely be redrawn.
This problem is 100% reproducible on some page (it is private, so
that I can't provide it) when scrolling slowly.

I've attached 2 snapshots: the first one showing incomplete redraw,
and the second one showing correct text. The redraw is completed
juste after taking the snapshot (with import -window root ...
from FVWM) and when the window loses the focus.

Scrolling in the other directions (left, up, down) doesn't yield
any text corruption.

As this could be related with the driver, my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file:
