Bug#1068895: iwlwifi: Scanning twice on AX210 card causes crash
Package: src:linux Version: 6.1.76-1 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: deb...@voltagex.org Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? Running iwlist scanning twice causes this crash - first invocation works, second time I get "wlp1s0Interface doesn't support scanning : Input/output error" * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Removing the module and modprobing it again restores the functionality - for one scan only. This machine has Ethernet connected so it's not a huge issue * What was the outcome of this action? Some kind of panic * What outcome did you expect instead? Scanning twice to work fine. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 6.1.0-18-amd64 (debian-ker...@lists.debian.org) (gcc-12 (Debian 12.2.0-14) 12.2.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Debian) 2.40) #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.76-1 (2024-02-01) ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-6.1.0-18-amd64 root=UUID=5cf14832-bc35-4527-9493-ac0719d68469 ro quiet ** Tainted: WOE (12800) * kernel issued warning * externally-built ("out-of-tree") module was loaded * unsigned module was loaded No idea what I've loaded but it's not related to this card. ** Kernel log: [4570550.548134] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x001F010D | last host cmd [4570550.548141] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x | isr status reg [4570550.548170] iwlwifi :01:00.0: IML/ROM dump: [4570550.548177] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x0B03 | IML/ROM error/state [4570550.548205] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x7FFC | IML/ROM data1 [4570550.548231] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x0090 | IML/ROM WFPM_AUTH_KEY_0 [4570550.548260] iwlwifi :01:00.0: Fseq Registers: [4570550.548277] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x6100 | FSEQ_ERROR_CODE [4570550.548302] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x00440007 | FSEQ_TOP_INIT_VERSION [4570550.548327] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x00080009 | FSEQ_CNVIO_INIT_VERSION [4570550.548353] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0xA652 | FSEQ_OTP_VERSION [4570550.548371] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x0002 | FSEQ_TOP_CONTENT_VERSION [4570550.548396] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x4552414E | FSEQ_ALIVE_TOKEN [4570550.548421] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x00400410 | FSEQ_CNVI_ID [4570550.548439] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x00400410 | FSEQ_CNVR_ID [4570550.548458] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x00400410 | CNVI_AUX_MISC_CHIP [4570550.548478] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x00400410 | CNVR_AUX_MISC_CHIP [4570550.548499] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x9061 | CNVR_SCU_SD_REGS_SD_REG_DIG_DCDC_VTRIM [4570550.548526] iwlwifi :01:00.0: 0x0061 | CNVR_SCU_SD_REGS_SD_REG_ACTIVE_VDIG_MIRROR [4570550.548717] iwlwifi :01:00.0: WRT: Collecting data: ini trigger 4 fired (delay=0ms). Bug#1034750:
I know this is the wrong way to do it, but d-i pkgsel/run_tasksel boolean false in my preseed.cfg was the easiest way for me to fix it. Just the d-i netcfg/choose_interface select auto problem to go now. This is possibly the wrong thread for it, IMO there needs to be a simple way to copy the SSH key/s provided by d-i network-console/authorized_keys_url to any/all created user accounts during installation, especially if I have d-i passwd/root-login boolean false set.

Bug#916741: O: distcc -- simple distributed compiler client and server
Package: wnpp Severity: normal The maintainer has indicated they are no longer maintaining this. I will attempt to forward an email chain about this soon. The package description is: distcc is a program to distribute compilation of C or C++ code across several machines on a network. distcc should always generate the same results as a local compile, is simple to install and use, and is often significantly faster than a local compile. distcc does not require all machines to share a filesystem, have synchronized clocks, or to have the same libraries or header files installed.
Bug#916500: distcc: debian/watch should point to GitHub, not Google Code

Bug#810890:
Any updates on this? Can those involved push any work in progress to GitHub / GitLab?
Bug#873179: Also hitting this bug
I believe this should be linked to a bug with botocore. The pip3 version of awscli pulls in botocore 1.7.34 and works properly on the same system.

If you look at http://www.dotnetfoundation.org/netcore, there are 3 distinct packages mentioned. FWIW - think about something like dotnet-corefx (although it could also be libdotnet), dotnet-coreclr and dotnet-cli. Someone should ask upstream at this point as they have already created unofficial packages for some projects. Hopping on this bug as it is probably required for #834756 (I have no idea how to mark bugs as related). --Adam
Bug#806487: This was fixed in an update to binutils 2.26
Upstream bugs https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=19538 and https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=19615 This was fixed in Debian somewhere between binutils-2.26-3 (which is affected) and -8 (which works fine). This can probably be closed or assigned to the binutils package. Regards, Adam

Ran into this - it's an annoying bug on space constrained devices. What needs to be done for it to be fixed?
Bug#753008: git-pbuilder: mkdir: File exists... and what now?
This still happens with git-buildpackage 0.7.2 and pbuilder 0.223. Run sudo strace -e mkdir -ff git-pbuilder create and you should see that it can't create /var/cache/pbuilder/base.cow (or whatever .cow if you've passed DIST and ARCH). It's a case of bad error messages and no option to do --force or --overwrite.

Hi, gbp import-orig didn't work how I expected it - no branch created and no debian/ folder available for updating. With some assistance I believe I can help get the new version packaged.

Bug#736055: Any updates?
Re-sending to the tracker, sorry. Ask, Basically I have to provide a watch file to grab the most recent file from the download page[1], but being quite unfamiliar with watch files and not so well versed in packaging in general, I haven't gotten around to it. If you can help with this or would like to take over, that would be quite splendid. The PTS page contains an alert for http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/sepwatch/trunk/watchfiles/python-ase_3.6.0.2515-1.1.watch?view=markup- save the text in that as debian/watch inside the package source and it should be fine There is one issue which I should mention: The tarball and the svn export do not contain the exact same files - some things like the documentation are present in svn but missing from the tarball. I guess the debian package should contain the same files as the tarball (and not the svn repository), but the existing package in corresponds to a checkout. This might be worth changing for the next release. I'm not sure about this, maybe raise a separate bug for it? --Adam -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#737572: libqmi-glib-dev: Please package upstream version 1.8.0
Hey Marius, From my point of view it should conflict - I wasn't aware that it was used in things other than modemmanager, but that makes sense. The remaining thing is to find out how to handle the qmi-proxy binary, which is used by the lib. As only one can be running at the same time, I am unsure how we should handle multiarch and different major ABI versions. Either conflict (like modemmanager), so that only one can be installed at the same time, or let it be up to the user to avoid multiple versions running. And should it be in a separate package. Bug#616689: Reproduced on a preseeded Jessie install
I just accidentally reproduced this while installing Jessie with a preseed that did not include lvm2 - shouldn't it be part of the base install if LVM is chosen in guided partitioning? Debian GNU/Linux testing Jessie - Official Snapshot amd64 NETINST Binary-1 20130729-21:37 (20130729) was used as a base.
Bug#702257:
This seems to also be an issue when a CD is used to kick off a preseed - i.e. Automated install from the boot menu. Depending on the preseed commands used, you'll end up with a cdrom: line in sources.list and a prompt in tty4 to insert a CD. You can't answer that prompt, so the install hangs.

Bug#648612: Patches with incorrect paths

Currently, you must pass the string locale=en_US to the kernel or you'll be prompted for language. Thanks for testing that, Please see if you can attach a text version of those logs - also, which ISO did you use? Was it a daily/weekly build? Which version of debian-installer?
