Bug#948089: gkrellm-thinkbat FTCBFS: builds for the build architecture

2020-01-03 Thread Adam Sloboda
Hello,

Thanks for the patch. Unfortunately this package was sponsored so
there is nothing I can do about it, personally.

If there is anyone who can, feel free to NMU or adopt the package.

Yeah, I guess it's not useful at all in this setup. You can open
gkrellm configuration dialog (context menu or F1) -> Plugins ->
uncheck xkb to disable.

You can switch layouts when you define them all at once:

setxkbmap 'us,de'

I need to debug it and fix the code but I need test case first.

Can you try turning off SCIM? I tried also installing that but no
crashes. It might depend on the configuration.

How does it work? Why do you use xkb plugin if you don't switch
keyboards via xkb? Also if you change layout at runtime with
setxkbmap it doesn't notify the flag indicator either so it's not very
useful for you. Does it do anything at all?

I meant tray icon or maybe panel plugin in some desktop environments.

I suspect that your SCIM setup is somehow messing with xkb data. I
have no idea how to configure it but if you send me your config I will
try it again.

I tried this also on testing and couldn't reproduce it. It seems like
there is a strange problem with data xkb supplies but I'm just
guessing now, test case would really help.

In the meantime maybe you can use panel applet like xxkb or fbxkb.

Hi Toni,

I tried it and can't replicate this crash, it is on stable though.
Please install gdb and run:

gdb -p `pgrep gkrellm`

gkrellm will stop updating, type "cont" command and then just wait for
another crash (it will again stop updating). Then type "bt" or
"backtrace" command and send it to me.

This might help to shed a little light on where it's crashing.

I just noticed that /etc/pm/sleep.d script does not work after resume,
only immediately before suspend.

How is it possible that userspace script gets overriden? I can see in
the log that the script enabled these devices and they are disabled
again after that:

/etc/pm/sleep.d/wakeup resume suspend:
Allowing PHILIPS device to wake up
Allowing APC device to wake up
success.

So it can be worked around by script (in addition to
/proc/acpi/wakeup setup) on boot *and* each wakeup which sets
/sys/bus/usb/devices/.../power/wakeup to enabled again.

After upgrade to squeeze I can't wake up the PC anymore with USB
dongle (remote control) and probably the same thing applies to UPS
backup. It's nVidia ION based motherboard.

/proc/acpi/wakeup is properly configured:
USB0  S4 enabled   pci::00:04.0

I can confirm that it works properly when I revert back to this package:
 linux-image-2.6.32-5-686_2.6.32-18_i386.deb

wl-beta doesn't even ask for password. Is there a change in folder
notation? Account which uses /login works but this one does not:

   %inbox:ACCOUNT/cl...@server:993!/

Bug#584302: wl-beta problems

2010-06-27 Thread Adam Sloboda
Hi,

So can anybody tell me how to make wl-beta let me access my mail
accounts? It fails on untrusted certificate and even on trusted GMail
IMAP (POP works).

I tried this configuration:

(setq ssl-program-name "gnutls-cli")
(setq ssl-program-arguments
 '("--port" service
   "--insecure"
   "--x509cafile" "/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt" ;; verify certificates
   host))

Works in wl, but not in wl-beta.

Adam

Bug#402777: gnomebaker depends on CONFIG_SCSI_PROC_FS

So kernel maintainers think it's better to fix it in gnomebaker.

Since this probably won't happen I recommend xfburn, which is a really
decent replacement.

This one is still valid with 2.6.32 Debian kernel. It's not really a
problem to set this option, why won't they do it?

I did not find a sponsor for the package. Also I had to stop using
rdiff-backup so feel free to take sources from mentors.debian.net and
catch up with upstream.

I am sorry, now I can see what you meant. This is minor glitch in
redrawing and bug in noticing xkb manual layout change (I don't know
why it is notified by X server on switch and not on redefining active
layouts).

This is not really real life use-case but I will inform upstream.

You have to define all layouts to change between them, I have posted
example in previous mail.

Please configure your layouts in .xsession as command or in xorg.conf
keyboard section, only then it can and will work as expected.

Adam

This is really strange because everything works for me in etch (two
systems), lenny (one system) and on package sponsor's system.

I don't have sid on any box right now so I can't test this right now,
I will try to test on virtual machine ASAP.

2008-10-21 Thread Adam Sloboda
Just one more question.

Are you using KDE with it's custom layout setting manager? Can you
please test for example:

   setxkbmap "us,sk,ar" -option "grp:shift_toggle"

and change layouts with both shifts pressed? If you do use KDE then
preferably in other DE/WM.

Thanks,

Bug#477016: curl_easy_setopt macro

2008-05-04 Thread Adam Sloboda
Failed to build on my machine too, according to the curl manual:

Note that even though this option doesn't need any parameter, in some
configurations curl_easy_setopt might be defined as a macro taking
exactly three arguments. Therefore, it's recommended to pass 1 as
parameter to this option.

Bug#470045: RFP: gkrellm-hddtemp

2008-03-13 Thread Adam Sloboda
So, after more research (there was an attempt to package this plugin
but I haven't found the source) I am no longer interested because it
seems that the basic functionality has been already incorporated into
gkrellm (and I actually stopped using the plugin after migrating on my
current computer without noticing).

This was also probably the reason for purging the package from the
pool.

Bug#362954: xscreensaver don't unlock the screen (pam_unix2 authentication failure)

2007-08-26 Thread Adam Sloboda
Solution to this bug is setuid root xscreensaver. Take a look at bug
#295526 -- http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=295526

It seems that no one is trying to resolve this issue. Would be great
if someone could push unix2_chkpwd solution to Debian as I don't want
to setuid root any screensaver...

Bug#399925: i've got same problem on amd64 etch

Crashes whenever I try to access IMAPS account (but works w/o SSL). I
have etch versions of libetpan and sylpheed-claws-gtk2 on both amd64 and
i386, crashes only on amd64 (same configuration files). I also tried to
disable pgpmime plugin (only one enabled) but it didn't help.

Note that claws-mail in unstable does not have this bug.

I have thinkfinger rule in common-auth (pam_unix works but
I have to either comment out pam_thinkfinger authentication or comment
out common-auth inclusion to make vsftpd work).

#authsufficient pam_thinkfinger.so
authrequiredpam_unix.so nullok_secure try_first_pass

When I used debug parameter connection error changed:

$ ftp 10.10.10.11
Connected to 10.10.10.11.
220 (vsFTPd 2.0.5)
Name (10.10.10.11:as):
331 Please specify the password.
Password:
500 OOPS: priv_sock_get_result
Login failed.
421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection

thinkfinger debug output:

Jun  8 01:28:05 elsinore vsftpd[3663]: pam_thinkfinger(vsftpd):
pam_sm_authenticate called.
Jun  8 01:28:05 elsinore vsftpd[3663]: pam_thinkfinger(vsftpd):
thinkfinger_thread called.

but I also noticed:

Jun 8 01:28:05 elsinore kernel: vsftpd[3673]: segfault at
41522b50 rip 2b974dfb4630 rsp 40ffee40 error 6

there's nothing else regarding vsftpd or thinkfinger in logs.

Note that I switched to distribution (etch) kernel to verify this
(and everything's the same).
