Bug#500360: gossip: Network traffic is incredibly high due to constant vcard requests / 100% cpu usage
Package: gossip Version: 1:0.30-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable There are two problems with this package; I'm not sure if they are related. First is very large network traffic. This is a known bug and already fixed in 1:0.31-1, see also http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=545451 Second problem is that occasionally, gossip uses 100% cpu and is unresponsive. On my system, this occurs about 30 minutes after starting the package and lasts for about one minute; after that, gossip is suddenly idle and behaves as normal again. I'm not sure if this is a known bug (or if it is related to the network traffic issue), but it seems to be fixed in 1:0.31-1 from unstable as well. Marked this bug as Grave / Renders package unusable, since the admin of the jabber server ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) told me that if all users of his server would use this package, the server would die due to the amount of traffic. Would be nice if 1:0.31-1 could make it into testing before the next release. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#406345: linux-image-2.6-amd64: Product IDs for keyboard and touchpad not recognized (Apple MacBook Core2Duo)
Package: linux-image-2.6-amd64 Version: 2.6.18+5 Severity: wishlist linux-image-2.6.18-3-amd64 runs fine on the MacBook (Core2Duo model), except that the product IDs of the keyboard and touchpad are not recognized. Stock linux kernel 2.6.19 from kernel.org already has a patch to recognize the product ID (0x021b) of the keyboard, but not yet to recognize the product ID (0x021b) of the touchpad. A patch for the touchpad can be found at http://www.mail-archive.com/mactel-linux-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg00310.html Could you please consider adding those product IDs to 2.6.19 and/or 2.6.18? Bug#354956: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Possible fix for firefox's bus error]
Hi, Jurij Smakov has created a new firefox package in which this bug does not occur anymore (atleast, it works for me). I guess this bug can be closed now if the patch is merged (either upstream or in the debian package). I've also forwarded this information upstream (mozilla bugzilla issue #329087). Regards, Admar - Forwarded message from Jurij Smakov <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> - Date: Sat, 20 May 2006 20:52:18 -0700 (PDT) From: Jurij Smakov <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Possible fix for firefox's bus error To: debian-sparc@lists.debian.org Hi, I've came up with a works-for-me patch for firefox, which fixes bus errors on startup (bug #362170). The patch and the binary debs built with it are available from: http://www.wooyd.org/debian/firefox/ If you can test it, please do. If it works, I'll push the patch upstream. Bug#359968: gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3: outputs noise
Package: gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 Severity: normal Installing gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 on my ultra sparc II results in noise, instead of music (at least when tried with quodlibet audio player). Removing gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 and using mad again (from gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly ?) does work with quodlibet (ie: does play mp3 files). I've heard from a friend that this issue also exists on powerpc, but I can't verify this.
