Bug#821409: gtk+3.0: gtk3 apps seem to be graphically broken since the most recent updates

Hi Michael,

See here:

https://www.bountysource.com/issues/28293692-selected-text-is-white-on-white-invisible-webkit1-gtk-3-19-7-adwaita

I had the same issue with Evolution in Parsix and upgrading webkitgtk to
2.4.10 fixed it.

2016-04-18 Thread Alan Baghumian
Hi Guys,
Regarding transparency of selected text in Evolution, the package needs
to be recompiled using webkitgtk 2.4.10+ and that will fix it.

Bug#543375: util-linux: Superblock last mount time is in the future

2009-09-17 Thread Alan Baghumian

Hi Guys,

A temporary workaround for the problem is to edit /etc/default/rcS file
and set FSCKFIX to yes. At least it wont stop your boot process asking
for manual fsck run.

Hopefully maintainers can put together soon to fix this.

Thanks,
Alan

Bug#423503: liberation fonts - let's upload

2008-06-14 Thread Alan Baghumian
Hi,

I'm not a DD, so, if possible, sponsor the package!

http://technotux.org/dload/ttf-liberation/

Alan

 Hi Alan,

I think the bug log has gathered all relevant information but just isn't
conclusive on either one. I therefore suggest to just upload the package
to unstable and have the FTP-masters decide on this - is this acceptable
to Debian or not? That is, follow the reasoning by FSF or the one by some
of the debian-legal participants? After all, FTP-master is the final
 authority on this.

Do you think you can upload it sometime soon, so it may make it to Lenny?
If you need sponsoring just let me know!

 Thijs

Bug#462451: brasero doesn't work when files to burn contain spaces

2008-01-26 Thread Alan Baghumian
On Thu, 2008-01-24 at 19:56 -0300, Alvaro Herrera wrote:
When trying to burn a data DVD containing filename with whitespace,
brasero seems to convert the spaces to %20 and then attempt to read
them. When this fails, it simply punts and shows a dialog box saying
No such file or directory, with no indication as to what exactly is
 going on.

strace'ing the process tells the tale: I can see an lstat call like
 this:
 lstat(/home/media/stuff/foo%20bar/baz%20qux, 0x7fffc4d13790) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)
when there is no such file. (There is a file named
 /home/media/stuff/foo bar/baz qux instead).

FWIW, in case it matters, the thing I dropped into the right pane is the
/home/media/stuff directory, not the foo bar directly.

 I find this rather unfulfilling.

I have 0.7.0 installed on my system. I tried to make an ISO file with some
files containing spaces in the names. Then mounted the ISO using a command
like:

# mount -o loop brasero.iso tmp/

And checked the contents. Everything seems to be OK. Would you please do
the same test with 0.6.x (your) version to see what happens? If you got
corrupted file names, so this means that this problem has been fixed in
new upstream version.

Cheers,
Alan

$ espeak -v us-mbrola-3 test

command generates sound and not any text. I wonder how it works in 1.29
and why it does not work in 1.30-1? Would you please do this test too?

Thanks,
Alan

There is no reason to reject it. It works and acts correctly. This

used in Armenia and Armenian Diaspora.

What do you mean correct? I think that situation is clear now.

A dictionary which doesn't reflect correct spelling is of no use.

As it is in NEW already, it probably should be rejected.

Bug#438600: ITP: myspell-hy -- Myspell dictionary for Armenian

2007-08-20 Thread Alan Baghumian
Hi,

Well, the issue says otherweise. I don't know who is right (I don't
speak Armenian), but I just wanted to mention that issue and it's
 comments.
If the issue was right I think it doesn't make sense to add it as -hy.
Maybe as -hy-western or when there's a iso code there use that.
(And make it conflict with a -hy containing the correct Armenian)

If the issue is wrong, nevermind.

As the issue said. If the correct spelling of Armenian is something
else than Western Armenian, QWestern Armenian is not neceesarily correct
 for a Armenian dictionary.

Spelling differences between Western and Eastern Armenian is very very
little and the main problem is the grammar style. We don't use MySpell to
fix grammar errors, do we? :-)

So it's not needed to produce to different -hy-eastern and -hy-western
packages imho.

Cheers,
Alan

Hi,

After two days compiling and recompiling my custom 2.6.22 based kernel,
I faced to this bug. First I tried to remove all extra patches to build
a standard kernel but it didn't help. Then tried to rebuild GCC
4.2.1-1 packages on my Debian testing machine and again the same
problem. So installed a fresh Sid debootstrap chroot, with GCC 4.2.1-1
packages and started to compile the kernel and still that stupid USB
HID problem exists!

So I prefer to re-open this bug.

Bug#415216: gnome-control-center: Some event sounds do not work

2007-04-28 Thread Alan Baghumian
I even tested with gstreamer-esd and gstreamer-alsa packeges and different
sound systems (OSS, ALSA, ESD) in GNOME sound settings but nothing helped!

It's a little strange!

That's too bad, I'm starting to run out of ideas on this one.

I have noticed that if I restart Xorg (ctrl+alt+backspace) when logged
in a GNOME session, and re-log in, the sounds work ok (until the next
 reboot).
Could it be related to service start order?

 Cheers,

 Hi,

After upgrading libgnomekbd1 and libgnomekbdui1 from 2.18.0-1 to
2.18.1-1, the gnome-screensaver dialog appears and seems to work.
Also, the keyboard switcher applet loads and works.

I am not sure which one of libgnomekbd1 and libgnomekbdui1 was causing
the problem and I no longer have the 2.18.0-1 versions to check.

 Thanks for packaging 2.18.1

Hi,

It would be nice if you add this patch to gedit to support newly
released Armenian Aspell dictionary. It's been submitted to the
upstream too (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386448).

It adds a line (Armenian) to the static list of the supported spell

Patch is attached.

Bug#403910: [Debian-arabic-packages] Bug#403910: /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-farsiweb/tshreer.ttf does not exist

2006-12-20 Thread Alan Baghumian
Lior,

Another thing that ttf-farsiweb fonts conflict with ttf-freefont package.
If ttf-freefont package is installed, ttf-farsiweb fonts won't be
displayed correctly on UI.

Alan

 Hi,

I'm sorry, but I didn't find the link you mentioned. Could you be more
 specific ?

 Checks done:
 ~$ dpkg -l ttf-farsiweb defoma
 ||/ Name  Version   Description
 +++-=-=-==
 ii defoma0.11.10 Debian Font
Manager -- automatic font configuration framework
 ii ttf-farsiweb 0.4-1 FarsiWeb free
 TrueType Farsi fonts

( I use SID, but took the package from Sarge).

 1. check the defoma-hints files:
 2. grep -i tshreer /etc/defoma/hints/ttf-farsiweb.hints
 3. $ locate nazlib /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-farsiweb/nazlib.ttf
 /var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/fonts/nazlib.ttf
 /var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType/nazlib.ttf

 $ ls -l /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-farsiweb
 /var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/fonts/
 /var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType | grep -i tshreer

 4. I've checked the changelog and tshreer.ttf wasn't provided by this
package in any time at the past.

 Please send more details.

Bug#393851: update-manager: System restart notification

2006-10-20 Thread Alan Baghumian
Problem is that! /etc/init.d/bootclean is not running at boot. Enabling
that, solved problem. I suggest to add a check on package installation to
enable bootclean if it's not enabled.

I recently installed this package after reading about it on Debian weekly
news.

update-notifier checks wether to show the icon by checking the presence
of the /var/run/reboot-required file, created by a package during
 install.

The /etc/init.d/bootclean initscript removes all files from /var/run
upon system boot up, so you should not be seing this notification. I
tried to reproduce it but failed.

Can you imagine a reason why your /var/run is not being cleaned up? Can
you verify that this is indeed not happening? What happens if you do
init 1 and run /etc/init.d/bootclean start?

 Thanks,

Bug#348100: Solution!

2006-01-31 Thread Alan Baghumian

Hi,

I found problem's solution.

It seems that udev 0.083-1 package is broken, downgrading to 0.082,
0.081 or 0.080 solved that problem.

0.082 is also broken in the other way, so I recommend to use 0.081 by
now.
