Bug#793034: RM: urg -- ROM; upstream gone, low popcon

2015-07-20 Thread Albert Huang
Package: ftp.debian.org

urg contains device driver's for Hokuyo laser range scanners (typically
used in
industrial safety and robotics). Reasons for removal are:
- Upstream sources no longer appear to be available.
- Not a very popular package.

Bug#678872: NMU coming soon

I do think debian/copyright should follow DEP5 but I will leave this to the

Hello,

Thanks for the help! I'll see what I can do to apply this, though I have
become very busy at the moment.
I've picked up a helper from the Linux TI calculator community, so things
might move along quite nicely. :)
I've instructed him to use DEP5 for machine-readable copyrights, so your
request should be granted (assuming I can get this all the way into
testing).

Thanks!

Bug#678343: RFS: tilem/2.0-1 [ITP]

2012-06-20 Thread Albert Huang
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package tilem

 * Package name: tilem
   Version : 2.0-1
Upstream Author : Benjamin Moody and Thibault Duponchelle (
tilem-de...@sourceforge.net)
 * URL : http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tilem/
 * License : GPL, LGPL, GFDL
   Section : math

It builds those binary packages:

  tilem - GTK+ TI Z80 calculator emulator

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/tilem

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/tilem/tilem_2.0-1.dsc

More information about tilem can be obtained from
http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tilem/.

Changes since the last upload:
 * Initial release (see package description)

Personal notes:
This is a low-frequency update application, and it's quite easy to
maintain! (At least, if my packages aren't terrible...)
I'm pretty sure everybody has had (or has seen) a TI calculator, right?
This emulator really does a good job of emulating those TI graphing
calculators (and evoking nostalgia too!).
As always, the emulator does NOT provide ROMs, but it does offer ways to
dump or create a ROM legally.
Please consider sponsoring my package!

Regards,
Albert Huang

Bug#627470: RM: framewave -- ROM; Dead upstream, FTBFS, low popcon

2011-05-20 Thread Albert Huang
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Framewave was, at first, a very promising piece of software developed by
AMD for SIMD-accelerated image processing and numerical computing.
Unfortunately, it appears to have been abandoned upstream, as the latest
release was 2 years ago and the sourceforge page [1] has since been
overrun by spam. Upstream developers have not responded to bugs or
forum messages. Since Framewave has been abandoned, and it no longer
builds, it does not seem suitable for inclusion in Debian any longer.

Hi Bill,

I've taken an interest in libjpeg-turbo and would like to help out
with this. Not sure if anything has happened in the last few weeks,
or if you've been concentrating on squeeze. The version of libjpeg.so
in libjpeg-turbo 1.0.1 looks fine to me -- it has an identical SONAME
as the one provided in libjpeg62, and appears to be ABI compatible.
It also provides a libturbojpeg.so, which is isn't versioned properly,
is this what you're referring to? In any case, the libjpeg.so could
co-exist in the repositories with libjpeg62 by using
/etc/alternatives, yes?

Description : C++ library for computer vision, image, and video processing

The Cambridge Video Dynamics C++ library is designed to be easy to
use and portable for fast video saving, loading and display. It
contains hand-optimized versions of common low-level image processing
functions, as well as other computer vision algorithms such as the
   FAST corner detector.

Bug#500386: ITP: libcam -- device-independent image acquisition and processing API

2008-09-27 Thread Albert Huang
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Albert Huang [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: libcam
  Version : 0.0.9
Upstream Author : Albert Huang [EMAIL PROTECTED], David Moore [EMAIL
PROTECTED]
* URL : http://libcam.googlecode.com
* License : LGPL
  Programming Lang: C
Description : device-independent image acquisition and processing API

libcam is a library primarily intended for robotics and machine vision
researchers. It provides a device-independent API for acquiring,
logging, and processing images. Core supported input methods are V4L,
  V4L2, dc1394, and libcam-format log files. A modular architecture
allows image processing units to be connected in sequences or trees,
and new units can be added via dynamically loaded plugins. The
purpose of libcam is to support the process of developing machine
vision algorithms, and does not provide implementations of existing
  algorithms.

Bug#500386: ITP: libcam -- device-independent image acquisition and processing API

2008-09-27 Thread Albert Huang
What are the names of the binary packages? Note we already have packages
called libcam0 and libcam-dev in the GNU/kFreeBSD port. They are used
for access to SCSI devices on *BSD systems.

Hmm... that could be awkward indeed.

The binary packages generated by the proposed source package are currently:
  camview - libcam viewer
  libcam-gtk3 - GTK+ widgets for libcam
  libcam-gtk3-dev - GTK+ widgets for libcam
libcam-plugins-dc1394 - IEEE 1394 Digital Camera device input
plugins for libcam
libcam-utils - utility programs for libcam
libcam3 - device-independent image acquisition and processing API
  libcam3-dev

The upstream source builds libcam.so and libcam-gtk.so. There are no
plans to support BSD, but this is still probably not a very good
situation.

Suggestions?

-albert

Bug#349705: [Pkg-bluetooth-maintainers] pybluez

2006-02-27 Thread Albert Huang
albert: I'm going to close the ITP in the changelog and add python-bluetooth
depending on python-bluez, then upload 0.6.1-2

Let me know if I should be working on renaming anything.. I'll just take
a backseat for now.

Regards,
Albert
