Hi Bill, I've taken an interest in libjpeg-turbo and would like to help out with this. Not sure if anything has happened in the last few weeks, or if you've been concentrating on squeeze. The version of libjpeg.so in libjpeg-turbo 1.0.1 looks fine to me -- it has an identical SONAME as the one provided in libjpeg62, and appears to be ABI compatible. It also provides a libturbojpeg.so, which is isn't versioned properly, is this what you're referring to? In any case, the libjpeg.so could co-exist in the repositories with libjpeg62 by using /etc/alternatives, yes? Sorry, it built fine on my Ubuntu install, so I assumed it would be okay in unstable. Really should know better than that by now... This failure is a result of a patch I attached in the initial packaging to force framewave to link against the boost debian package instead of the version that is supplied with framewave. I've modified the patch so that it looks for -lboost_thread-mt and checked that it passes pbuilder in unstable. What are the names of the binary packages? Note we already have packages called libcam0 and libcam-dev in the GNU/kFreeBSD port. They are used for access to SCSI devices on *BSD systems. Hmm... that could be awkward indeed. The binary packages generated by the proposed source package are currently: camview - libcam viewer libcam-gtk3 - GTK+ widgets for libcam libcam-gtk3-dev - GTK+ widgets for libcam libcam-plugins-dc1394 - IEEE 1394 Digital Camera device input plugins for libcam libcam-utils - utility programs for libcam libcam3 - device-independent image acquisition and processing API libcam3-dev The upstream source builds libcam.so and libcam-gtk.so.
