Bug#776240: pmount: bash completion hangs by grepping stdin
Package: pmount Version: 0.9.23-3+b1 Severity: minor Tags: patch bash completion for pmount hangs. The problem is in grepping stdin in line 62 of /etc/bash_completion.d/pmount: devices=$( command ls $(grep -v '^[[:space:]]*#' /etc/pmount.allow ) $(grep 1 /sys/block/*/removable | sed -e 's,/sys/block/,/dev/,;s,/removable:1,*,') 2/dev/null | sort -u | sed -e 's,\(^/dev/\)\(.*\),\1\2 \2,' ; grep $mdir /proc/mounts | sed -e 's,.*\($mdir/[^ ]*\).*,\1,' ) Variable mdir is not set, so «grep $mdir /proc/mounts» expands to «grep /proc/mounts» where «/proc/mounts» treated as pattern, not file name. So script blocks until ^C or ^D is pressed. Fix: replace line with the following to remove this strange grepping: devices=$( command ls $(grep -v '^[[:space:]]*#' /etc/pmount.allow ) $(grep 1 /sys/block/*/removable | sed -e 's,/sys/block/,/dev/,;s,/removable:1,*,') 2/dev/null | sort -u | sed -e 's,\(^/dev/\)\(.*\),\1\2 \2,' ) -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages pmount depends on: ii libblkid1 2.25.2-4 ii libc6 2.19-13 pmount recommends no packages. Make sure that /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf exists 3. Upgrade dovecot to 1:2.1.7-2~bpo60+1 4. Purge old dovecot packages (dovecot-common) 5. Check that /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf exists Result: File /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf removed during dovecot-common's postrm script execution (lines 8-13). But this file is needed for new dovecot version to work! -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.6 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: armel (armv5tel) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-kirkwood Locale: LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages dovecot-common depends on: ii adduser 3.112+nmu2 add and remove users and groups ii libbz2-1.01.0.5-6+squeeze1 high-quality block-sorting file co ii libc6 2.11.3-4 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcomerr21.41.12-4stable1 common error description library ii libdb4.8 4.8.30-2 Berkeley v4.8 Database Libraries [ ii libgcc1 1:4.4.5-8 GCC support library ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.10.1+dfsg-1 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries - k ii libk5crypto3 1.10.1+dfsg-3 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries - C ii libkrb5-3 1.10.1+dfsg-1 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.23-7.2 OpenLDAP libraries pn libmysqlclient16 none (no description available) ii libpam-runtime1.1.1-6.1+squeeze1 Runtime support for the PAM librar ii libpam0g 1.1.1-6.1+squeeze1 Pluggable Authentication Modules l pn libpq5none (no description available) ii libsqlite3-0 3.7.3-1SQLite 3 shared library ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8o-4squeeze13 SSL shared libraries ii openssl 0.9.8o-4squeeze13 Secure Socket Layer (SSL) binary a ii ucf 3.0025+nmu1Update Configuration File: preserv ii zlib1g1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime dovecot-common recommends no packages. Bug#540073: Normal behaviour
On Mon, 23 May 2011 10:17:36 -0700 Nemo Inis nemoi...@hotmail.com wrote: Actually, this is normal behaviour for netcat-openbsd. The man page is quite specific that -l and -p cannot be used together: -l Used to specify that nc should listen for an incoming connection rather than initi‐ ate a connection to a remote host. It is an error to use this option in conjunction with the -p, -s, or -z options. This will cause a portability issue because 'nc.traditional -l ' does not binds to port . So I think that this should be included in readme file in Debian package because netcat-openbsd provides 'netcat' package as well as netcat-traditional. -- Alexander Galanin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#392693: icewm: Partial solution for EWMH-compatible applications
Package: icewm Version: 1.3.7~pre2-1 Severity: normal -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Today I wrote a patch that fixes the problem for EWMH-compatible applications (for example, applications that uses Tk toolkit). According to EWMH 1.4 specification (http://standards.freedesktop.org/wm-spec/1.4/index.html): Application Window Properties _NET_WM_NAME, UTF8_STRING The Client SHOULD set this to the title of the window in UTF-8 encoding. If set, the Window Manager should use this in preference to WM_NAME. _NET_WM_ICON_NAME, UTF8_STRING The Client SHOULD set this to the title of the icon for this window in UTF-8 encoding. If set, the Window Manager should use this in preference to WM_ICON_NAME. Now icewm prefers _NET_WM_NAME and _NET_WM_ICON_NAME for getting window and icon name. - -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages icewm depends on: ii icewm-common1.3.7~pre2-1 wonderful Win95-OS/2-Motif-like wi ii libc6 2.11.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libesd0 0.2.41-7 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Shared ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2.1generic font configuration library ii libgcc1 1:4.4.4-8GCC support library ii libglib2.0-02.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-desktop-2-17 2.30.2-1 Utility library for loading .deskt ii libgnome2-0 2.20.1.1-1 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomevfs2-0 1:2.24.3-1 GNOME Virtual File System (runtime ii libgtk2.0-0 2.20.1-1+b1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 2:1.0.6-1X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libsm6 2:1.1.1-1X11 Session Management library ii libx11-62:1.3.3-3X11 client-side library ii libxext62:1.1.2-1X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxft2 2.1.14-2 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxinerama12:1.1-3 X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxrandr2 2:1.3.0-3X11 RandR extension library icewm recommends no packages. This was tested under Debian in two versions of icewm, 1.2.29pre1 and 1.3.4pre2 (Debian builds of both). If window flags changed using wmctrl -i -r $win -b add, fullscreen wmctrl -i -r $win -b remove, fullscreen this bug does not appear. Also if window state changed using hot-key KeyWinFullscreen this bug does not apper too. Seems that request from application make my window fullscreen are incorrectly interpreted by icewm. Bug#518802: (no subject)
Looking at the upstream BTS: http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/1499 | Sorry, but this will not work. You have to use either a 32-bit kernel | and a 32-bit environment or a 64-bit kernel and a 64-bit environment if | you want to use VirtualBox. The reason is that VirtualBox is kind of | system software which has to communicate closely with the host kernel. There seems to be no way to provide an -amd64 modules package for i386 systems at all. I have both kernel and userspace compiled for -amd64. -- Alexander Galanin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
