Bug#982285: libcgroup1: invalid memory access in cgroup_strerror

2021-02-08 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: libcgroup1
Version: 0.41-8.1
Severity: important
Tags: patch upstream

cgroup_strerror_codes in src/api.c does not match to ECG* error enum
defined in include/libcgroup/error.h

This may lead to returning invalid error message from cgroup_strerror()
or accessing out of archive boundary when cgroup_strerror is called with
code=ECGNONEMPTY.

I have added one more error message to fill the gap between ECGMOUNTFAIL
(50021 - Cgroup mounting failed) and ECGEOF (50023 - End of File or
iterator) messages.

Error messages are coming from `hg status` which is executed _before_
exclude_internal filter. So we need to filter mercurial's internal directory
before 'hg status' call.

Bug#928225: needrestart: false positive: dovecot

2019-04-30 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: needrestart
Version: 3.4-3
Severity: normal

needrestart always reports dovecot as a service that need restart.

Root cause:
/usr/lib/dovecot/anvil is mapped to memory region 004ce000-004d1000
(first line of /proc/2697/maps) but /proc/2697/map_files/ contains only
file named 4ce000-4d1000.

So leading zeroes need to be removed before looking into map_files.

Bug#869240: ikiwiki: decoding of strftime() result is not needed

2017-07-21 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: ikiwiki
Version: 3.20170111
Severity: important
Tags: patch l10n

I am using ru_RU.UTF-8 locale. Ikiwiki build is failed with the
following error:

> Cannot decode string with wide characters at
> /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.24/Encode.pm line 202.

I think that the real problem is double-decoding of strftime() result
that is already a proper widestring. See IkiWiki.pm at line 1300:

> Encode::decode($strftime_encoding, POSIX::strftime(@_))

The obvious fix:

Bug#807751: josm: translation files are not loaded

2015-12-12 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: josm
Version: 0.0.svn9060+dfsg-1
Severity: minor
Tags: l10n

Translation files from josm-l10n package are not loaded by josm.

I think that the problem is caused by patch file modification
(debian/patches/06-move_data_out_of_jar.patch).

Old version (0.0.svn7643+dfsg1-1, jessie):
 private static URL getTranslationFile(String lang) {
-return Main.class.getResource("/data/"+lang+".lang");
+try {
+return new URL("file:///usr/share/josm/data/"+lang+".lang");
+} catch (MalformedURLException ex) {
+return null;
+}
 }

New version (0.0.svn9060+dfsg-1, stretch):
 private static URL getTranslationFile(String lang) {
-return Main.class.getResource("/data/"+lang.replace('@', '-')+".lang");
+try {
+return Main.class.getResource("/data/"+lang.replace('@',
'-')+".lang");
+} catch (RuntimeException ex) {
+return null;
+}
 }

Bug#776240: pmount: bash completion hangs by grepping stdin

2015-01-25 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: pmount
Version: 0.9.23-3+b1
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

bash completion for pmount hangs. The problem is in grepping stdin in
line 62 of /etc/bash_completion.d/pmount:

devices=$( command ls $(grep -v '^[[:space:]]*#' /etc/pmount.allow )
$(grep 1 /sys/block/*/removable | sed -e
's,/sys/block/,/dev/,;s,/removable:1,*,') 2/dev/null | sort -u | sed -e
's,\(^/dev/\)\(.*\),\1\2 \2,' ; grep $mdir /proc/mounts | sed -e
's,.*\($mdir/[^ ]*\).*,\1,' )

Variable mdir is not set, so «grep $mdir /proc/mounts» expands to
«grep /proc/mounts» where «/proc/mounts» treated as pattern, not file
name. So script blocks until ^C or ^D is pressed.

Fix: replace line with the following to remove this strange grepping:
devices=$( command ls $(grep -v '^[[:space:]]*#' /etc/pmount.allow )
$(grep 1 /sys/block/*/removable | sed -e
's,/sys/block/,/dev/,;s,/removable:1,*,') 2/dev/null | sort -u | sed -e
's,\(^/dev/\)\(.*\),\1\2 \2,' )

 In 2.1.7.x dovecot-common is replaced by dovecot-core. It seems like you

dovecot-core (version 1:2.1.7-2~bpo60+1) is installed. But I installed dovecot

2011-12-04 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: libsqlite3-tcl
Version: 3.7.9-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

File /usr/lib/tcltk/sqlite3/pkgIndex.tcl is empty, so package sqlite3
can not be loaded in Tcl programs.

I am unable to generate this file by hands because command

# echo 'pkg_mkIndex -verbose' | sudo tclsh8.5

gives the following error:

warning: error while loading libtclsqlite3.so: couldn't load file
libtclsqlite3.so: libtclsqlite3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such

But file is present and ldd-able:

  What do you mean by empty? Zero length or just comments? Strange is
 that it has comments only for me and does not have
 package ifneeded sqlite3 3.7.9 [list load [file join $dir libtclsqlite3.so]]
 in it.

As I can see in package on .de mirror, this file does not contain any
lines with Tcl code, only whitespaces and comments:

$ wget
http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/s/sqlite3/libsqlite3-tcl_3.7.9-2_amd64.deb
$ ar x libsqlite3-tcl_3.7.9-2_amd64.deb
$ tar xvzf data.tar.gz ./usr/lib/tcltk/sqlite3/pkgIndex.tcl
./usr/lib/tcltk/sqlite3/pkgIndex.tcl
$ cat ./usr/lib/tcltk/sqlite3/pkgIndex.tcl
# Tcl package index file, version 1.1
# This file is generated by the pkg_mkIndex command
# and sourced either when an application starts up or
# by a package unknown script. It invokes the
# package ifneeded command to set up package-related
# information so that packages will be loaded automatically
# in response to package require commands. When this
# script is sourced, the variable $dir must contain the
# full path name of this file's directory.

$

  I am unable to generate this file by hands because command
  # echo 'pkg_mkIndex -verbose' | sudo tclsh8.5
  gives the following error:
  warning: error while loading libtclsqlite3.so: couldn't load file
  libtclsqlite3.so: libtclsqlite3.so: cannot open shared object file: No
  such file or directory
  I can't reproduce it. For me
 # echo 'pkg_mkIndex -verbose' | sudo tclsh8.5
 gives: no files matched glob patterns *.tcl *.so

cd /usr/lib/tcltk/sqlite3 and re-run this command

 while still on amd64 arch. If I rebuild it in an up-to-date chroot, then
 the 'package ifneeded [...]' line is present. I may ask for a binary
 only rebuild, but I'm not sure that's your problem.

I think that this may solve the problem.

 Try to add the
 mentioned line to your pkgIndex.tcl .

Yes, this fixes the problem.

  But file is present and ldd-able:
  What kind of *.tcl files do you have in your current work directory? If

As I mentioned before, this command should be executed in
/usr/lib/tcltk/sqlite3 .

 you are already root (prompt is #), why do you use sudo? What do you get
 with the
 # echo 'pkg_mkIndex -verbose' | tclsh8.5

I have the same problem under root without sudo and under user with
sudo.

 command? Can you post the output of the
 $ dpkg -l tcl8.5
 command?

not binds to port . So I think that this should be included in
readme file in Debian package because netcat-openbsd provides 'netcat'
package as well as netcat-traditional.

Udev script for libsane (/lib/udev/rules.d/60-libsane.rules) is broken
due to changes in udev constants. Therefore rw permission for 'scanner'

 use ACLs instead.

$env{DEVNAME} is empty in my case, so I used the another way to set

name, you can use it instead of $env{DEVNAME} in seftacl call.

 You actually aren't looking at the proper udev db entry; you're down to
 the interface level and you should stop at the device level. It's the
 device we're interested in, not a specific USB interface.

Yes, at the other level DEVTYPE is usb_device, so DEVTYPE check
modification is not needed:

Bug#392693: icewm: Partial solution for EWMH-compatible applications

2010-10-03 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: icewm
Version: 1.3.7~pre2-1
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Today I wrote a patch that fixes the problem for EWMH-compatible
applications (for example, applications that uses Tk toolkit).
According to EWMH 1.4 specification
(http://standards.freedesktop.org/wm-spec/1.4/index.html):

Application Window Properties

_NET_WM_NAME, UTF8_STRING
The Client SHOULD set this to the title of the window in UTF-8
encoding. If set, the Window Manager should use this in preference
to WM_NAME.

_NET_WM_ICON_NAME, UTF8_STRING

The Client SHOULD set this to the title of the icon for this window
in UTF-8 encoding. If set, the Window Manager should use this in
preference to WM_ICON_NAME.

Now icewm prefers _NET_WM_NAME and _NET_WM_ICON_NAME for getting window
and icon name.

2010-06-24 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: vim-runtime
Version: 1:7.1.314-3+lenny2

I found that vim-runtime package includes gvimtutor script. I think that this
is a bit wrong because 'g' suffix is usually indicates GUI version of vim
(vim-gtk, vim-lesstif or vim-gnome). So gvimtutor should be moved to one of GUI
packages because it is not needed if only curses version of vim is installed.

Bug#584600: apticron cronjob fails silently

apticron cronjob fails silently with exit code 1.
After running apticron by sh -x the following e-mail is sent:

apticron report [Sat, 05 Jun 2010 02:19:03 +0400]

apticron has detected that some packages need upgrading on:

gaa -e
[ 127.0.0.1 192.168.1.2 192.168.64.3 ]

The following packages are currently pending an upgrade:

+ echo 5.6
+ /bin/sed -e s/:/%3a/g

I think that problem is in line 206 in /usr/sbin/apticron:

if ls ${PKGPATH}${PKG}_${VERFILE}_*.deb  /dev/null ; then

This construction () is valid for bash, but causes syntax error in
dash (my default shell).

 It seems a videodriver problem.

I think that there are no problem with my video, because installed by
hand version 2.3 of sweethome3D works well (I use java -jar
SweetHome3D-2.3.jar to start it. It shows the same warning about GLX
version, but starts successfully).

So I think that the root cause of the problem is an incomplete or broken
CLASSPATH.

 Please provide the output:

 $ glxinfo | egrep  render|version

$ fglrxinfo

 Depending on videocard, maybe you need to update the driver to the non-free:

I already have non-free driver installed.

 Unfortunately, I found out it only works with locale en and this could
 be a workaround:
 remove or edit $HOME/.java/.userPrefs/com/eteks/sweethome3d/io/prefs.xml
 file replacing
 entry key=language value=XX/(your XX is probably ru)
 with
 entry key=language value=en/

 Please confirm that.
 It will be fixed soon in the next release.

Yes, this workaround solves the problem. Now sweethome3d started
successfully.

Cleaning the LANG variable does not helps anyway, but setting LC_ALL to
en_US.UTF-8 can can work-around the problem is there are no prefs.xml
file in the user preferences location.

 The Debian bug tracking system doesn't know about votes, and they have
 no positive effect on the resolution of a bug.

I just want to draw attention to this issue.

 It does know about patches for fixing a bug, which will be much more
 likely to advance the resolution of a bug.

Sorry, but this bug can not be fixed on a client side because reportbug
does not know about bug ID while reporting a new bug. So this bug should
be firstly fixed on a BTS side.

 So, since we are not the BTS maintainers: did you reported the problem
 to BTS admins? did you file a bug against the BTS? did you mark this
 bug as blocked by that other bug?

Bug#549896: icewm: Toggle fullscreen and back causes window size changes

2009-10-05 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: icewm
Version: 1.2.37+1.3.4pre2-4
Severity: normal

In certain applications including kaffeine 0.8.x (qt3), gwenview (qt4), and
totem (gtk2), if the application is toggled into full screen and then back,
the window size is changed in an apparently random fashion.

This was tested under Debian in two versions of icewm, 1.2.29pre1 and
1.3.4pre2 (Debian builds of both).

If window flags changed using wmctrl -i -r $win -b add,fullscreen  wmctrl
-i -r $win -b remove,fullscreen this bug does not appear. Also if window
state changed using hot-key KeyWinFullscreen this bug does not apper too.

Seems that request from application make my window fullscreen are
incorrectly interpreted by icewm.

No. Setting LANG variables does not changes behaviour (message still

 I couldn't reproduce this issue here. I've put a set of packages on hold via
 aptitude and dpkg, then got the proper apt-listchanges output for both
 NOTIFY_HOLDS=0 and =1.

 Could you paste the full output when using NOTIFY_HOLDS=1? Does it work well
 in that way? It sounds strange, since the only code block that NOTIFY_HOLDS
 acts in apticron is the following one, which I can't identify any issue
 related
 to your problem:

 if [ $NOTIFY_HOLDS = 0 ]; then
 # packages hold by aptitude don't go to the upgrading candidates list
 for p in $APTITUDE_HOLDS; do
 PKGNAMES=`echo $PKGNAMES |sed s/\(^\| \)$p\( \|$\)/ /g;s/^

 done

 for p in $DSELECT_HOLDS; do
 PKGNAMES=`echo $PKGNAMES |sed s/\(^\| \)$p\( \|$\)/ /g;s/^

 done

Traces and e-mails attached below.

In a first case at least one package (hal) from list of packages passed to
apt-listchanges is installed. In a second case all packages in list are not
installed.

Seems that root cause is incomplete holds support in apt.

2009-06-22 Thread Alexander Galanin
 Looking at the upstream BTS:

 http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/1499

 | Sorry, but this will not work. You have to use either a 32-bit kernel
 | and a 32-bit environment or a 64-bit kernel and a 64-bit environment if
 | you want to use VirtualBox. The reason is that VirtualBox is kind of
 | system software which has to communicate closely with the host kernel.

 There seems to be no way to provide an -amd64 modules package for i386
 systems at all.

I have both kernel and userspace compiled for -amd64.

Bug#533764: squashfs-tools version 4.0 is incompatible with 3.x kernel module

2009-06-20 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: squashfs-tools
Version: 1:4.0-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Actions:
1. make squashfs image using mksquashfs
2. install squashfs-modules-2.6-amd64
3. try to mount image:
mount -o loop squashfs_test.img /mnt/test
4. see dmesg

Expecte results:
1. OK
2. OK
3. OK, filesystem is mounted correctly
4. OK, only squashfs version string displayed in dmesg

Actual results:
1. OK
2. OK
3. Mount failed
4. dmesg | tail :
[ 2469.639279] squashfs: version 3.3-CVS (2008/04/04) Phillip Lougher
[ 2471.900516] SQUASHFS error: Major/Minor mismatch, trying to mount newer
4.0 filesystem
[ 2471.900522] SQUASHFS error: Please update your kernel

Seems that squashfs-tools package should be rolled back to 3.x version
until kernel with newer squashfs module will be in a repository.

Bug#529723: [systemsettings] style.desktop idoes not exists in systemsettings package

2009-05-21 Thread Alexander Galanin
Package: systemsettings

Severity: minor

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

File /usr/share/kde4/services/style.desktop does not exists in
systemsettings package, but present in kdebase-workspace-bin package.
I think that this is a mistake because this file exists in systemsettings
package in 'lenny' distribution.

Test:
1. install systemsettings package, remove (if exists) kdebase-workspace-bin
2. run systemsettings and go to Look and Feel - Appearance.
3. Copy /usr/share/kde4/services/style.desktop from kdebase-workspace-bin
package
4. run systemsettings and go to Look and Feel - Appearance.

Results:
1. Ok
2. Item Style is not visible in left column
3. Ok
4. Item style is visible in left column and widget style configuration
can be performed
