Bug#938928: Additional Information for Debian Testing

2019-08-30 Thread Alexander Veit
The Installer for Debian Testing (kernel 5.2.0-2-amd64, 2019-08-21) does not
work either.

Many buffer I/O errors on device nvme0n1p2 (like with Buster).

Bug#938928: installer: Cannot install Debian Buster on a Samsung SSD 970 Evo Plus SSD

The Samsung SSD 970 Evo Plus SSD is attached to the mainboard's M.2 connector.

1.) Install Debian Buster using the graphical expert installer.
2.) Partitioning of the SSD seemed to work
3.) The step where the base system packages are installed failed.

=> Installation failed.

Debian Buster does not seem to support Samsung SSD 970 Evo Plus SSD, at least
not with the MSI Z390 A-Pro and I7 9700K processor. I had to replace the SSD
with an older model attached to a SATA connector.

Bug#835856: nemo: Bad usability when expanding and then collapsing tree items in Nemo

2016-08-28 Thread Alexander Veit
Package: nemo
Version: 2.2.4-2
Severity: normal

1. Using the mouse, click on a small trinagle in the tree view to expand a
subtree.
 -> The subree expands.

2. Without changing the mouse position click again to collapse the subtree.
-> The substree does not collapse again.

To make this work one has to move the mouse pointer, and then again hit the
triangle.

Bug#775960: mp3blaster: Minimalistic error message "Failed to open sound device."

2015-01-21 Thread Alexander Veit
Package: mp3blaster
Version: 1:3.2.5-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

when I try to play a mp3 file with mp3blaster it prints the error message
"Failed to open sound device." at the bottom line. As I am an ordinary user,
this message does not help me very much to find about what the problem might
be.

 - Is there a sound device you've tried to open?
 - If so, what's its name?
 - What might be the reasons for the failure? Permissions, ...?

Please provide as much information about the problem as possible.

Bug#775579: iceweasel: Clicking Iceweasel's URL bar does not preselect the existing URL

2015-01-17 Thread Alexander Veit
Package: iceweasel
Version: 31.3.0esr-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

clicking (activating) Iceweasel's URL bar does not preselect the existing URL.
An input cursor is opened at the click position instead.

Since most use cases like typing in, copying of the URL, or pasting a new URL,
require the existing URL to be completely marked, browsers normally preselect
the whole existing URL in these cases. To fulfill the user's expectations
Iceweasel should behave the same.

Bug#774501: base: Distorted single channel audio output

2015-01-03 Thread Alexander Veit
Package: base
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

After installing Debian Jessie (with XFCE desktop) audio output is only
hearable on the left channel and sounds metallic. Any attempts to fix
the problem failed. Tests with Windows 7 on the same machine showed
good sound quality, so hardware defects can be ruled out.
