Bug#1054917: evolution-ews: Importing ics calendar to Exchange server gets TZ wrong

2023-10-28 Thread Andrew Perrin
Package: evolution-ews
Version: 3.50.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Importing .ics calendar files downloaded from elsewhere, for example
sports schedules
from GoHeels.com, that have DTSTART and DTEND fields demarcated in UTC
with Z at the end to
identify

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Importing to an Exchange calendar connected to Evolution results in the
event's time being
set to the UTC time in the local time zone - for example, an event with
DTSTART:20230909T211500Z
DTEND:20230910T001500Z

is imported as starting at 9:15 pm Eastern (my local time zone) and
ending the following
day at 12:15 am Eastern. The correct time would be 5:15 pm - 8:15 pm
Eastern.

Importing the same .ics file to a local calendar via Evolution sets the
time zone as
expected, and importing the same .ics file to the Exchange calendar via
Office 365
(web interface) sets the time zone as expected, so I believe the
problem is with
Evolution's interface with the Exchange calendar.

Thank you for your work!

Bug#898661: network-manager-openconnect-gnome: Unnecessary dependencies break upgrade

2018-05-14 Thread Andrew Perrin
Package: network-manager-openconnect-gnome
Version: 1.2.4-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

The pacakge includes requirements for several packages that are not available
in current testing:

 network-manager-openconnect-gnome : Depends: libnm-glib-vpn1 (>= 0.7.999) but
it is not installable
 Depends: libnm-glib4 (>= 0.7.999) but it
is not installable
 Depends: libnm-util2 (>= 0.8.998) but it
is not installable

However intalling manually with dpkg --force-depends works fine, and the
package works. It would be helpful to remove these dependencies, since apt-get
blocks on these dependencies which makes updating the system difficult or
impossible.

Thanks.

First, what is the output of "gst-inspect-1.0 -b" and "gst-inspect-1.0"?
This should show if any plugins have been blacklisted and which plugins
are correctly installed.

Removing the cache file in ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/ has fixed similar
problems with missing plugins.

Thank you - I had tried removing the file in ~/.gstreamer-0.10 but
clearly was out of date on that. Removing ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0 fixed
the problem.

Bug#791339: gnome: Window resizing much harder with latest upgrade

2015-07-03 Thread Andrew Perrin
Package: gnome
Version: 1:3.14+3
Severity: wishlist

After latest upgrade, I can no longer resize windows by dragging on the
right or bottom edge of the window. Only left and bottom-left corner work.
This makes functionality much worse.

Bug#791338: gnome: Keyboard drops first character - Num Lock indicator changes

2015-07-03 Thread Andrew Perrin
Package: gnome
Version: 1:3.14+3
Severity: normal

After latest upgrade, the keyboard drops the first stroke after any pause
of 5-10 seconds or more. After such a pause, the Num Lock light turns off;
then when pressing the first keystroke, the Num Lock light turns back on,
but the keystroke is dropped.

Keyboard is a Sun Type 7 USB.

Bug#762993: xserver-xorg-video-intel: LVDS display blanks when DP is plugged in

2014-09-26 Thread Andrew Perrin
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.21.15-2+b2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

Plugging a mini-DP to VGA dongle into the mini-DP port on a Thinkpad X1 Carbon

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

The regular laptop screen goes blank. SOMETIMES repeatedly pressing Fn-F7
rotates to getting one or the other screen to work.
Using Gnome settings to arrange displays in that case causes the system to
hang. Using xrandr --output DP1 --same-as LVDS1
SOMETIMES works to make the two screens clones.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Plugging the miniDP dongle should bring both screens on by default, either as
clones or arranged side-by-side.

Bug#702899: forked-daapd: Dies before scanning whole library with ffmpeg error

2013-03-12 Thread Andrew Perrin
Package: forked-daapd
Version: 0.19gcd-2.1
Severity: important

I have approximately 600 songs in /srv/music, all world-readable. However only

Bug#524108: openoffice.org: all documents open read only from afs filesystem

2009-04-14 Thread Andrew Perrin
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1:3.0.1-9
Severity: important

Since upgrading to OpenOffice.org 3.0, documents opened from an AFS
filesystem open read-only. I have full write access to the filesystem, and
changing the locking option in soffice.sh makes no difference.

When I compile the openafs modules using make-kpkg modules-image under
debian lenny, openafs dies with a General Protection Fault between 1 and
24 hours after boot. This does *not* happen on the same machines running
2.6.24 but does happen running .25 and .26.

The machines are (1) a Lenovo ThinkCentre with a Pentium 4HT processor;
and (2) an IBM eSeries 226 with dual Xeon 2.8Ghz processors.

This is the GPF:

Bug#464963: thinkfinger-tools: tf-tool is built without PAM support

tf-tool is built without PAM support, so it cannot be used to allow

fingerprint reader, it ought to be available.
