Bug#476023: tct: diff for NMU version 1.11-6.5

I'm unlikely to get to this any time soon so feel free to NMU (with my
thanks!), Ana. Note: I haven't had a chance to look at the patch even
so it still deserves a thorough review.

I have it from a reliable source that you, sir, are full of monkey

All being well, I shall rebuild and upload tonight (TZ=GMT+0100).

Bug#272497: wontfix

2006-09-28 Thread Andrew Stribblehill

tags 272497 +wontfix

Obviously, as with most free software, Cfengine would benefit from
better documentation.

However, I disagree with the sentiment of this bug. Cfengine is a very
general configuration *language*. It would be inappropriate for the
Debian developer to push his way of working as commented-out programs
in the package.

help the Debian Apache 2.2 effort instead.

Bug#306106: openntpd: probably fails to adjust local clock

2006-01-16 Thread Andrew Stribblehill
Package: openntpd
Version: 3.7p1-1
Followup-For: Bug #306106

I see the same symptoms as the original submitter. However, when running
it under strace, I see:

write(2, "adjusting local clock by 0.17380"..., 35) = 35
adjtimex({modes=32769, offset=171689, freq=0, maxerror=16384000,
esterror=16384000, status=64, constant=2, precision=1,
tolerance=33554432, time={1137426537, 876854}}) = 5

man 2 adjtimex tells me that a return code of 5 is:

#define TIME_BAD  5 /* clock not synchronized */

If nothing else, this is confusing behaviour.

Have you seen the security fix? It's not important, really. No-one
uses the "vulnerable" script (vicf), and certainly not on an
automatic basis. It doesn't even run, so the security fix is in
effect a no-op.

No, it isn't a conffile. It's just broken.

Bug#329600: libnet-dns-perl: Bug in Net::DNS typesbyval() -- fixed upstream

2005-10-06 Thread Andrew Stribblehill
Package: libnet-dns-perl
Version: bug in Net::DNS typesbyval() fixed upstream
Followup-For: Bug #329600

The typesbyval() function is supposed to check that its argument is an
integer but it chokes on -- it passes the first "die" test but the
0 gets stripped away a couple of lines down, so it fails the second test
with Argument "" isn't numeric in numeric gt (>) at
/usr/lib/perl5/Net/DNS.pm line 167.

This is a follow-up to "New upstream version" because I've confirmed
that it's fixed upstream.
