Bug#959094: mailman3 failed after dpkg-reconfigure
Package: mailman3 Version: 3.2.1-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, After installing PostgreSQL I started dpkg-reconfigure mailman3 At the end it stated: *Service for mailman3 failed. The mailman3 service didn't start correctly. This is probably because you didn't configure the database appropriately. The service won't work until you do so. If you actually DID install the database appropriately, please report As far as I could make out, the problem was caused by choosing a password with special characters which resulted in an unusable database url. -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.3 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.15.0-58-generic (SMP w/72 CPU cores) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE, TAINT_LIVEPATCH Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages mailman3 depends on: ii dbconfig-pgsql 2.0.11+deb10u1 ii dbconfig-sqlite32.0.11+deb10u1 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.71 ii logrotate 3.14.0-4 ii lsb-base10.2019051400 ii python3 3.7.3-1 ii python3-aiosmtpd1.2-3 ii python3-alembic 1.0.0-3 ii python3-click 7.0-1 ii python3-dnspython 1.16.0-1 ii python3-falcon 1.0.0-2+b3 ii python3-flufl.bounce3.0-1 ii python3-flufl.i18n 2.0.1-1 ii python3-flufl.lock 3.2-1 ii python3-lazr.config 2.2-1 ii python3-passlib 1.7.1-1 ii python3-psycopg22.7.7-1 ii python3-public 0.5-1 ii python3-requests2.21.0-1 ii python3-sqlalchemy 1.2.18+ds1-2 ii python3-zope.component 4.3.0-1 ii python3-zope.configuration 4.0.3-3 ii python3-zope.event 4.2.0-1 ii python3-zope.interface 4.3.2-1+b2 ii ucf 3.0038+nmu1 Versions of packages mailman3 recommends: ii postfix [mail-transport-agent] 3.4.8-0+10debu1 Versions of packages mailman3 suggests: pn lynx | www-browser ii mailman3-doc3.2.1-1 ii postgresql 11+200+deb10u3 -- debconf information: mailman3/remove-error: abort mailman3/remote/newhost: * mailman3/pgsql/admin-user: postgres mailman3/pgsql/no-empty-passwords: mailman3/remote/port: mailman3/dbconfig-upgrade: true * mailman3/pgsql/method: Unix socket mailman3/remote/host: localhost mailman3/db/basepath: /var/lib/mailman3/data mailman3/upgrade-backup: true mailman3/pgsql/changeconf: false * mailman3/pgsql/authmethod-admin: ident mailman3/upgrade-error: abort * mailman3/passwords-do-not-match: mailman3/purge: false mailman3/mysql/admin-user: * mailman3/dbconfig-install: true mailman3/pgsql/manualconf: * mailman3/db/dbname: mailman.db mailman3/internal/reconfiguring: false * mailman3/pgsql/authmethod-user: password * mailman3/dbconfig-reinstall: true * mailman3/db/app-user: mailman3 mailman3/mysql/method: Unix socket * mailman3/config_hyperkitty: true mailman3/internal/skip-preseed: false mailman3/dbconfig-remove: true * mailman3/database-type: pgsql mailman3/install-error: abort mailman3/missing-db-package-error: abort * mailman3/init_service_failed:

Bug#726381: xfce4-terminal automatically backgrounds itself
Package: xfce4-terminal Version: 0.6.2-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I sometimes write scripts that pop-up a terminal emulator that will continue after the process in the terminal is terminated. However that seems to be impossible with xfce4-terminal because as far as I can see if an xfce4-terminal is already open the launched proces seems to instruct the already running process to open an new window at which point the newly launched process disappears. Package: xorg Version: 1:7.3+16 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable After upgrading xorg and related packages, the computer no longer responds to mouse movements and keyboard input. It doesn't matter whether I try with gdm or via the console and startx. I tried to build a new xorg.conf with dexconf but that didn't make a difference. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages xorg depends on: ii gnome-terminal [x-terminal-em 2.22.3-2 The GNOME 2 terminal emulator appl ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 7.0.3-5A free implementation of the OpenG ii libglu1-mesa 7.0.3-5The OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii x11-apps 7.3+3 X applications ii x11-session-utils 7.3+1 X session utilities ii x11-utils 7.3+2 X11 utilities ii x11-xfs-utils 7.3+1 X font server utilities ii x11-xkb-utils 7.4+1 X11 XKB utilities ii x11-xserver-utils 7.3+5 X server utilities ii xauth 1:1.0.3-2 X authentication utility ii xfonts-100dpi 1:1.0.0-4 100 dpi fonts for X ii xfonts-75dpi 1:1.0.0-4 75 dpi fonts for X ii xfonts-base 1:1.0.0-5 standard fonts for X ii xfonts-scalable 1:1.0.0-6 scalable fonts for X ii xfonts-utils 1:7.4+1X Window System font utility progr ii xinit 1.0.9-2X server initialisation tool ii xkb-data 1.3-2 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii xserver-xorg 1:7.3+16 the X.Org X server ii xterm [x-terminal-emulator] 235-1 X terminal emulator Versions of packages xorg recommends: ii xorg-docs 1:1.4-2Miscellaneous documentation for th xorg suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#499278: xorg: CTRL-ALT-Fn Doesn't work properly
Package: xorg Version: 1:7.3+16 Severity: normal After loging in with gdm, all seems to work fine until I want to go to a console via CTRL-ALT-Fn. Upon doing so, I find that the text console seems to be expanded vertically, making the two top lines and the bottom line invisible, seeming to be above and below the screen. Going back with CTRL-ALT-F7, the screen is completely black and the power light indicator of the monitor begins to flikker as if the computer is turned off or blanked in screensaver mode. Nothing I do can make the session active again, except for CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE that will break off the X-seesion and will give me a gdm inlog screen. === xorg.conf === # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file) # # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using # values from the debconf database. # # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page. # (Type man xorg.conf at the shell prompt.) # # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only* # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg # package. # # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated # again, run the following command: # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg Section InputDevice Identifier Generic Keyboard Driver kbd Option XkbRules xorg Option XkbModel pc104 Option XkbLayout us EndSection Section InputDevice Identifier Configured Mouse Driver mouse EndSection Section Device Identifier Configured Video Device BusID PCI:1:0:0 EndSection Section Monitor Identifier Configured Monitor EndSection Section Screen Identifier Default Screen Monitor Configured Monitor EndSection == Xorg.0.log = X.Org X Server 1.4.2 Release Date: 11 June 2008 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Operating System: Linux Debian (xorg-server 2:1.4.2-5) Current Operating System: Linux rcpc42 2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-686 #1 SMP Mon Sep 8 06:19:11 UTC 2008 i686 Build Date: 26 August 2008 07:32:05PM Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version. Bug#375963: fvwm: CTRL+ALT+Fi doesn't change to other vti
The problem IMO is realy with fvwm because: 1) I have no problem changing to an other vti with CTRL+ALT+Fi when I am at the xdm login screen. or I am working under gnome 2) fvwm is launched rather late into the .xsession So there is a window of opportunity that I can try CTRL+ALT+Fi, without fvwm running. At that moment I have no problem switching to an other vti. But once fvwm is running it no longer works. -- Antoon Pardon -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
