Bug#653501: libfreenect : pull request and issues raised

2012-01-27 Thread Arne Bernin
 - solution 1: installing libfreenect0.1 package installs a modprobe rule
 which blacklist the module gspca_kinect. But it makes the v4l2 interface
 unavailable which is bad for those who want to use it.

What about asking the user via debconf what he wants and make the
blacklisting as an option? Seems the easiest solution for me...

Cheers,

Arne

Bug#508798: module-init-tools: module from /etc/modules not loaded when blacklisted

2008-12-15 Thread Arne Bernin
Package: module-init-tools
Version: 3.4-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

The module-init-script in init.d loads
the modules listed in /etc/modules.
Unfortunatly this does not work if the
module is blacklisted as the environment
var MODPROBE_OPTIONS includes -b during bootup
(set via init from the initramfs).
This is a problem if you want to prevent udev
from loading specific modules (for example a
raid controller), and load it in a user
defined order later.

Bug#504821: kvm: german keymap not working

2008-11-07 Thread Arne Bernin
Package: kvm
Version: 72+dfsg-2
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

Using kvm with a german keyboard does not work
properly, the @ and | keys (ALTGR+Q, ALTGR+)
are not seen in the client machine.
(Tested with the included vnc client from
virt-manager)
This seems to be a qemu related problem,
using the patch
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2008-11/msg00116.html
everything works well. Unfortunatly,
this patch is not compatible to the qemu_vnc_ext_key_event.diff
used in the debian version...

Bug#387416: wide-dhcpv6-server: Parser Error while parsing config file

2006-09-14 Thread Arne Bernin
Subject: wide-dhcpv6-server: Parser Error while parsing config file
Package: wide-dhcpv6-server
Version: 20060322-4
Severity: important

*** Please type your report below this line ***

wide-dhcpv6-server does not like a config file which has a address-pool
defined in an interface section.
For example:

interface eth1 {
preference 12;
address-pool pool1;
}

fails with an yyerror0. This makes it impossible, to define an address
pool
to use it. The included sample config in this package does not work
because
of this problem.
I also tested upstream version 20060902. Same result.

Bug#305699: Archive::Tar fails extracting files correctly if alternate name is used

2005-04-21 Thread Arne Bernin
Package: libarchive-tar-perl
Version: 1.23-1

When trying to unpack files from a read archive to
a different location (not from current working dir),
Archive::Tar creates an additional directory named
like the file in the path.
Example:

---
use Tar;

my $tar = Archive::Tar-new();
$tar-read(knockd.tgz, 1);
foreach $name ($tar-list_files()) {
my $fullpath = /tmp/test/ . $name;
print fullpath:$fullpath\n;
$tar-extract_file($name, $fullpath);
$tar-extract_file($name);
}
---

the knockd.tgz contains:
drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 2004-10-25 18:38:05 etc/
-rw--- root/root   603 2004-10-25 18:38:05 etc/knockd.conf
drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 2004-10-25 18:38:05 etc/default/
-rw--- root/root   299 2004-10-25 18:38:05 etc/default/knockd

resulting in the following files (after using the code above to unpack):

drwxr-xr-x arne/arne 0 2005-04-21 15:35:46 etc/
