Bug#764571: libpoclu-dev and uthash-dev: error when trying to install together

2014-10-10 Thread Bastian Blywis

Dear Vincent,

you can find an updated version of the package here if you need a more
recent one:

http://mentors.debian.net/package/uthash

I will try to get in contact with my sponsor to get 1.9.9 (which is long
overdue) released as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Bastian

Thank for the report. I think (I will check) that this is the same file.
I did not know that this header was already packaged. I will remove
it from libpoclu-dev and add a dependency.

Hi,

automatic installation tests of packages that share a file and at the
same time do not conflict by their package dependency relationships has
detected the following problem:

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

   /usr/include/utlist.h

This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may then
also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug.

-Ralf.

of this kind see http://edos.debian.net/file-overwrites/.

 Hi,

uthash 1.9.7 is now available, which means that the uthash package is now
lagging upstream by two releases. Please consider packaging this and
uploading to experimental during the freeze.

Additionally, it might be useful to add a watchfile to keep track of new
 releases.

 Thanks,
 Jon

Hi,

I am working on it but real life is currently taking some time. In addition my
sponsor demanded some additional changes to the package (building of
documentation) that take a little bit more time than anticipated. Further on,
m.d.n is somehow currently silently dropping uploaded packages, although they
should be signed correctly.

Bug#499796: [Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Bug#499796: initscripts: rootfs over nfs hangs at reboot

2011-04-16 Thread Bastian Blywis
Hi,

Which can change wake-over-lan behaviour on various NICs, so it is not
 something we can do lightly.
Wouldn't solution 2 be viable? You can leave the -i as default but everyone
who is experiencing problems can make persistent modifications.

Although documenting this is a damn good idea.
ack

Really, all disk activity is supposed to be quiesced at this point, and
everything is to be re-mounted read-only, so NFS should not need to do
anything it cannot just give up on doing. Maybe that's where the real bug
 lies?
There is indeed probably another problem involved.

Can you track down what is still mounted read-write at this point on your
root-over-NFS boxes? Use /proc/mounts for this.
If you tell me how, I can try. At this point I cannot even do anything in the
serial console of the VMs and the real maschines.

Regards,

Bastian

Bug#499796: initscripts: rootfs over nfs hangs at reboot

2011-04-14 Thread Bastian Blywis
Package: initscripts
Version: 2.88dsf-13.1
Severity: normal

The following problem happens reproducible in a network of 100 virtual
machines and a network of 120 real machines that mount their rootfs
over nfs.

When /etc/init.d/reboot is run and reboot -d -f -i called, in about
2-4% of the cases, the system will deadlock because the network
interfaces are shut down but the kernel still wants to read/write
something on the nfs export. The message nfs server not responding is
shown.

Solutions:
1) remove the -i from the init script
2) move the parameters to /etc/default/reboot

Please raise the severity to important, as the deadlock issue is serious
and custom modifications to the init script will be lost on package updates.

DES-SERT is a framework written as ANSI-C library. While generally

DES-SERT routing daemons utilize libpcap to receive packets from the

to this host use a TUN or TAP interface as access point to the operating
 system protocol stack.

libdessert1 is the successor of libdessert0.87 and based on the libdessert
