yes my bad in part i forgot to add the README.Debian file

more than loudly :P it doesnt suck, everything is documented and the job
of the sysadmin is to read the docs :) we have lots of complex setup and
cannot and will not make automatic detection.

>> since fusiondirectory is a package to manage core infrastructure (like

everything is documented but i agree, a Readme.debian was missing,
smooth upgrade from 1.0.8 to 1.0.19 is possible if you follow releases
notes but keep in mind that is a jump of 22 releases and so extra care
is needed.

>> please fix this for the next point release (and please provide some

we will add a Readme.Debian pointing where to got for upgrade
instructions, a UPGRADE file is inside the debian package in the
/usr/share/doc/fusiondirectory/docs/UPGRADE.gz

yes thats the case as argonaut evolved a lots this past year and is
morphing from client / server role to being the tools to be the shell /
cli part of FusionDirectory.

> Expecting an answer given in more technical depth from Benoit (Fusion
> Directoy / Argonaut upstream lead).

the difference are huge between those two versions, here i'am listing
what the 0.9.2 miss regarding the 1.0 version

- Argonaut is now full SSL enabled
- Support of RPM packages for deploying with FAI
- Service management and System management is now fully Systemd compliant
- Ldap2zone support ipv6, bind views and bind acls
- Extensibility of Argonaut Actions in FusionDirectory
- Lots of FAI Fixes

It mean that if we keep Argonaut 0.9.2 :

- Fai support will be broken
- DNS support is not usable with current FusionDirectory
- Perl cleaning and security enhancement will not be available

We are using own backports so our users can use Argonaut on Jessie and
it has been proved to work without any issues, more than 50 know
installations.

Have a nice day

yes thats right, schema are not installed by default because we don't
now where the ldap server is.

no the are in .schema format and the fusiondirectory-insert-schema use
schema2ldif to convert it to ldif and import them into the ldap server.

what i see here is that it cannot find the cn=config backend in your
ldap server.

- is the server in cn=config format

you should see this

bmortier@demo-release:~$ ll /etc/ldap/slapd.d/
total 8
drwxr-x--- 3 openldap openldap 4096 avr 30 10:50 cn=config
-rw--- 1 openldap openldap 478 avr 29 12:29 cn=config.ldif

- can you connect in ldapi:// to your ldap server, type this in root

ldapsearch -Y EXTERNAL -H ldapi:// -b cn=config

you should see lots of text on you screen

Yes it should be removed from debian as the actual version in debian is
not compatible with php7.

The future version 1.0.13 will be fully compatible php5 and php7 and
should be uploaded to debian after this release

Nothing indicate that it represent a man, FusionDirectory is entirely
theme-able apart from those two icons, by default FusionDirectory use
the Tango icons but the tango icons pack doesn't
have an icon to represent users.

The other icons you mention are semantic icons and can not bu used as a
replacement

 Dear Maintainer,

Hello,

The /etc/ldap/schema/fusiondirectory/rfc2307bis.schema cannot be used on

 Insertion failed!

of course because it need a modified core schema and is only useful in the
case of mixing posixGroup and groupOfNames.

I advise not doing it if really really necessary !! , as it need intrusive
core.schema modifications.

Anyway, rfc2307bis is not supported anymore in FusionDirectory :

 https://forge.fusiondirectory.org/issues/3718

yes that was the case in 1.0.8.6 but it will be back in 1.0.8.7 as we need
to support specific installation that use the broken way of doing
posixGroup and groupOfNames

see https://forge.fusiondirectory.org/issues/3807

Please remove the schema file from the Debian package so to prevent loss
of precious installation time.

this schema is never installed by default by fusiondirectory-schema that
insert core schema needed by fusiondirectory, so i see no need of removal

Taken patch from argonaut-client upstream that fixes upstream bug

add a switch to select the proper library depending on whether
running

Both this bug report and #775196 contain very little information about
what
exactly is wrong and how this patch is fixing it. Could you clarify this?

the argonauty client and server have code to detect wich perl json rpc
library to load.

for jessie
use JSON::RPC::Legacy::Server::Daemon;
for wheezy
use JSON::RPC::Server::Daemon;
we found a bug in the loading of the correct library in argonaut-client

Did you talk to the openldap maintainers if they would be willing to
ship this small tool? The script only provides openldap specific
 output.

No, the problem i see is this

- We will need a new version of openldap to include this before jessie,
because fusiondirectory-insert-schema use schema2ldif to help users insert
all kind of schema easily

- An update in schema2ldif would need a new update of openldap

- we could extend it to other directories, 389 comes to my mind

For all those reason i would like to keep it separated

 Hi,

The dpatch patch management system has been deprecated for some time.
The Lintian currently flags use of dpatch packages as an error. The
new 3.0 packaging format is an improved version which, among other
things, contains patch management built-in. For more information, see:

 http://wiki.debian.org/Projects/DebSrc3.0

 Notes:

The build process modifies original files and to preserve these
files, save/restore steps have been added to debian/rules.

Benoit, as we spoke before, here is the proposed NMU patch.

Let me know if there is anything that needs adjusting or if it is ok
 to upload with these changes.

Look fine to me

Thanks for the good work

Cheers

 Hi,

Hello,

The dpatch patch management system has been deprecated for some time.
The Lintian currently flags use of dpatch packages as an error. The new
3.0 packaging format is an improved version which, among other things,
contains patch management built-in. For more information, see:

 http://wiki.debian.org/Projects/DebSrc3.0

As we spoke before, here is the proposed NMU patch.

Let me know if there is anything that needs adjusting or if it is ok
 to upload with these changes.

The patch seems fine, please do the upload

Cheers

 Good news.

I wonder what's the purpose of such changes:

 +-  if (check_command($command)){
 ++  if (check_command($command) || TRUE){

Is showing an error bad? (the else statement is ignored now).

Hello,

this fix is to prevent the password beign logged in logfiles or in the
process list

Look at https://oss.gonicus.de/labs/gosa/ticket/1026 for the explanation

 Hi,

Hello,

fixing 591046 seems rather important for me, do you (gosa maintainers)
have an upload prepared? I'd be happy to sponsor it.

i will upload an fixed Gosa 2.6.11-2 this saterday that fixes two others
remaining bugs

I was going to ask the release-team if they would unblock gosa/2.6.11-1
which fixes two important and one grave bug (which isnt mentioned in
the changelog, #597542) and a normal bug (#591046) which IMHO should
rather have been important (at least), until I noticed that 591046 was
 reopened.

There are not mentionned in the changelog of -1 but will in -2

Sadly the debdiff to the version in squeeze is rather large (414 files
changed, 35544 insertions, 15295 deletions), but its a lot translation
and template updates and it has been sitting in unstable since 41 days
without issues, except for 591046 which was reopened.

So, dear release team would you possibly accept a 2.6.11-2 upload?

i hope so ;-) it will be uploaded on saterday to unstable

I think that commenting out this line will help a little.

It looks like gosa depends on libapache2-mod-fcgid and
spawn-fcgi. php running in fcgi mode seems to be described
 in /usr/share/doc/spawn-fcgi/run-php
aptitude search fcgi|grep php is blank ; apt-file show fcgi|grep php
 returns this only line:
 spawn-fcgi: /usr/share/doc/spawn-fcgi/run-php
 apt-file search fcgi|grep php returns:
 spawn-fcgi: /usr/share/doc/spawn-fcgi/run-php
 syscp: /usr/share/syscp/scripts/cron_tasks.inc.http.15.apache_fcgid.php

Possibly syscp can do the hack.

Sorry if I mistake, if I don't mistake please tell me too,
so that I keep trying to build a better hack than commenting
 out the line.

Did you get bitten by the bug only by installing libapache2-mod-php5 ? or

While updating the German translation I noticed that your second
debconf string looks a little awkward (and misses a full stop). I
 suggest the following:
-The config directory for tftp is where the pxelinux.0 image lies.
This must -be in sync with your TFTP Server
+Please note that the configuration directory for tftp has to contain
the +file pxelinux.0, which has to be synchronized with your TFTP
 server.

 Package: gosa

 Justification: renders package unusable

 Hi,

Hello,

this is more or less just for the record, thought as a reminder:

Current squeeze gosa seems to be incompatibel with current squeeze php:

   https://oss.gonicus.de/labs/gosa/ticket/689
   https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gosa/+bug/487537

It would be nice to have a working combination before freezing squeeze

Sure ;-) i'am currently making GOsa² 2.6.9 packages right now and will
make my sponsor upload it this week

Cheers

Why has the Architecture: all package been moved to Architecture: i386

Yes thats right, because the ofed stack (infiniband drivers for clusters
on linux) only work on amd64, i386, ia64, powerpc so the doc is only
interesting on those arch.

Yes thats right, because the ofed stack (infiniband drivers for

But surely the drive isn't shipped in the -doc package? Is the
 documentation different for each architecture?

Ok that was the question i thinked about, and done i that way, so the
opensm-doc package should be arch all and the rest amd64, i386, ia64,
powerpc

so how can i correct this because the opensm package is needed for other
packages to enter testing and this block the rest of the ofed stack ?

No, the documentation is identical on all supported architectures and
that is why it should be an arch all package.

Yes you are right it should be all
