Bug#657105: installation-reports

2012-01-23 Thread Chris Barnard

Package: installation-reports

Boot method: Netinstall CD
Image version: Debian GNU/Linux testing Wheezy - Official Snapshot
i386 NETINST

Image version: Debian GNU/Linux testing Wheezy - Official Snapshot
i386 NETINST

   Binary-1 20111213-21:39

The older netinst CD installed fine.
The newer netinst CD halted at detect network card - unable to find drivers

I used expert mode so I had full control over partitioning.

I can try the newer CD again if you want me to get some more info.

Comments/Problems:
Failed to configure display to 1440 x 900.  Config was 4 x 3 aspect ratio;
sorry I don't remember exactly which numbers. I was
surprised because Lenny gets it right with no problems and a HP laptop with the
same 1440 x 900 is working with Squeeze. Text based
install went flawlessly except for display config which I don't know enough to
work around.
Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments
and ideas you had during the initial install.

Thanks for your report.

This issue is more related to the X.org server than the installer
itself. Hence reassigning this bug report.

You may need to add information about your system. Probably sending
/var/log/Xorg.0.log would be good already.

Thanks for your prompt attention.
I would have to re-install to get the log re-created and I am not sure I
would know how to attach additional info to the bug report.

Bug#589404: Additional info

2010-07-17 Thread Chris Barnard
I did search for an Xorg.conf file or anything that looked like one
without success.

I searched in /etc and /etc/X11 (including subdirectories).

Ok

In the last 5 hours it appears that the site has been fixed or the news

Bug#383269: Browsers - locking up, Firefox, Epiphany and Mozilla

2006-08-15 Thread Chris Barnard

Package: Firefox
Version: 1.0.4

Firefox (and Epiphany and Mozilla) locks up when accessing
www.linuxtoday.com. Konqueror does not lock up.

Debian 3.1 fully patched to 15 August 2006
Programme fails to respond to mouseclicks except for the close X which
responds with a message that programme has stopped responding and offers
to kill programme; it does.

First occurence about 1900 hours East Australian Time (GMT+10)
No other pages I have tried affected.

Rebooting into SUSE 9.2 (unpatched; I don't use it normally these days)
Firefox does not lockup.

Athlon 2000 running appropriate kernel. 256Mb Ram
Broadband connection behind NAT box for firewall.

I'm not competent to do much more investigation, Sorry
