Bug#1065728: thunderbird: OTR not supported in Thunderbird with IRC chat
Package: thunderbird Version: 1:115.7.0-1 Severity: normal Steps to reproduce: I connected to some IRC channel at irc.oftc.net and want to use OTR with some users. In the config editor, chat.otr.enable is set to true. Command is shown in the chat window: ?OTRv2? I use Thunderbird on Debian testing (Trixie), and libotr is installed: libotr5/testing 4.1.1-5 amd64 [installed, automatic] Actual results: x...@irc.oftc.net has requested an Off-the-Record (OTR) encrypted conversation. However, you do not have a plugin to support that. Expected results: OTR should have been used. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.6.15-rt-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages thunderbird depends on: ii debianutils 5.17 ii fontconfig 2.15.0-1 ii libasound2 1.2.10-3 ii libatk1.0-0 2.50.0-1+b1 ii libc62.37-15 ii libcairo-gobject21.18.0-1+b1 ii libcairo21.18.0-1+b1 ii libdbus-1-3 1.14.10-4 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.112-3+b1 ii libevent-2.1-7 2.1.12-stable-8 ii libffi8 3.4.6-1 ii libfontconfig1 2.15.0-1 ii libfreetype6 2.13.2+dfsg-1+b1 ii libgcc-s114-20240201-3 ii libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0 2.42.10+dfsg-3+b1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.78.4-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.24.41-1 ii libnspr4 2:4.35-1.1+b1 ii libnss3 2:3.98-1 ii libotr5 4.1.1-5 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.52.0+ds-1 ii librnp0 0.17.0-3 ii libstdc++6 14-20240201-3 ii libvpx8 1.13.1-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.8.7-1 ii libx11-xcb1 2:1.8.7-1 ii libxcb-shm0 1.15-1 ii libxcb1 1.15-1 ii libxext6 2:1.3.4-1+b1 ii libxrandr2 2:1.5.2-2+b1 ii psmisc 23.7-1 ii x11-utils7.7+6 ii zenity 4.0.1-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.3.dfsg-3+b1 Versions of packages thunderbird recommends: ii hunspell-en-us [hunspell-dictionary] 1:2020.12.07-2 Versions of packages thunderbird suggests: ii apparmor 3.0.12-1+b2 pn fonts-lyx ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.20.1-5+b1 -- no debconf information
Bug#1065345: pipewire-jack: Improve package description
Package: pipewire-jack Version: 1.0.3-1 Severity: normal In my point of view it is not clearly understandable fromthe package desciptions or package docs how pipewire-jack and libspa-0.2-jack relate. I understood that pipewire-jack, aside from being a plugin, is a implementation of a JACK server based on JACK API and pipewire. And, I understood libspa-0.2-jack is a lib which is needed for pipewire to connect to a JACK server. These are two different things imho. But I learned that JACK client applications can not connect to pipewire-jack when libspa-0.2-jack is not installed. Thus, libspa-0.2-jack is too needed when JACK clients want to connect to pipewire-jack, basically making it a dependency? Maybe I am wrong, but more details in the package descriptions could clarify things a bid more. Tried with https://wiki.debian.org/PipeWire, but that was not clear either on how to deal with JACK native vs. JACK Pipewire setups. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.6.15-rt-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages pipewire-jack depends on: ii libc6 2.37-15 ii libpipewire-0.3-0 1.0.3-1 ii pipewire 1.0.3-1 pipewire-jack recommends no packages. pipewire-jack suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
Bug#1063319: easyeffects: Please lower calf-plugins dependency to Recommends
Package: easyeffects Version: 7.1.4-1 Followup-For: Bug #1063319 As the OP already said, please just put calf-plugins to recommended, not as a dependency. So I want to gte rid of the plugins, but the dependencies of easyeffects does not allow it. Bug#1061463: ardour: Ardour crashing when exporting to audio files when using JACK server via Pipewire
Package: ardour Version: 1:8.2.0+ds-1 Severity: normal When I use JACK as the audio system, which is handled by Pipewire using the pipewire-jack layer, Ardour crashes almost every time when I export a audio track or master track to e.g. a WAV or FLAC file. When the audio system is switched to ALSA, the crashes do not happen. As Paul Davis recommended on the ardour.org forum, I tried a Linux build from ardour.org (8.2) and that binary runs very stable during audio exports. The assumption was that it might be that Pipewire is the source of the troubles, but ardour.orgs binary did not lead to reproducible crashes with the audio system JACK with Pipewire, even when switching connections from/to Ardour using qpwgraph during exports. Even other sources played music through easy effects to the headset without impacting the export (besides Ardour muted the headset during export). Bug#563493: listen: submission to last.fm does not work
Hi Julien, please see my message for bug #552532 i attached lots of error messages there so i think the last.fm troubles might be found there. thanks, Chris btw: it is a very strange time, as some of the major audio players like Amarok2 and Exaile seems to be very buggy now :) So i hoped that the just discovered listen has fewer problems, but the last.fm integration and dynamic playlist handling seems to be _the_ challenge for listen too :) On Son, Jän 03, 2010, Julien Valroff wrote: Hi Chris, Le dimanche 03 janvier 2010 à 13:16 +0100, Chris Joelly a écrit : Package: listen Version: 0.6.3-4 Severity: normal submitting tracks to last fm does not work. Bug#561519: exaile: Sort order of playlist somehow strange when queuing tracks...
Package: exaile Version: 0.2.14+debian-2.2 Severity: normal Hello, i queued some tracks in the playlist and they played in the order they was queued. During playing this queued tracks i queued another album. Queuing looked ok. Then i changed the album name of all newly queued tracks with the edit tags... feature. Bug#560226: amarok: Please re-add Amarok 1.4 additionally to Amarok 2 to Squeeze
Package: amarok Version: 2.2.1-2 Severity: wishlist Hello, as Amarok seem to have serious bugs and usability problems compared to Amarok 1.4, is it possible to re-add Amarok 1.4 so that the user is able to decide which one of the main releases he want to use?
