Bug#410774: povray: amd64 version planned?
Package: povray Version: 3.6.1-6 Severity: wishlist While the version of povray in current stable supports all archs, that in testing/unstable is i386 only. A quick scan of the buglist shows that there were issues in getting povray built on amd64, but those seem to have been resolved. Is there any chance of an amd64 version becoming available? As far as I'm concerned, you can close it -- not because it's been solved (from what I've heard, it likely hasn't), but because I don't have the system in question anymore, and thus can't even try to reproduce it. The bug was also filed upstream (and confirmed there by a variety of people); so either it's fixed, or at least the people who'd be the ones to fix it are aware of it. Aisleriot comes up showing the game last played, which right now is "Zebra" 3. I hit the "select game" button on the toolbar, and a list of solitaire games pops up in a smaller window. 4. I select one and hit OK, and all the windows immediately die, and the error messages above go to the console, after which I'm back at a shell prompt. I'm running etch on AMD64, had used this program successfully within 24 hours of when I ran into this problem, and in the intervening time had done some package upgrading via apt-get. So maybe there's some package version incompatibility that wasn't caught? -c -- Chris Metzler [EMAIL PROTECTED] (remove "snip-me." to email) "As a child I understood how to give; I have forgotten this grace since I have become civilized." - Chief Luther Standing Bear signature.asc Description: PGP signature

No changes to libgpgme packages took place at that time. -c -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.26.040705a Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages sylpheed-claws depends on: ii libaspell15 0.60.2+20050121-2 The GNU Aspell spell-checker runti ii libc62.3.2.ds1-21GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libcompfaceg11989.11.11-24 Compress/decompress images for mai ii libglib1.2 1.2.10-9The GLib library of C routines ii libgpgme60.3.16-2GPGME - GnuPG Made Easy ii libgtk1.21.2.10-17 The GIMP Toolkit set of widgets fo ii libldap2 2.1.30-3OpenLDAP libraries ii libpisock8 0.11.8-10 Library for communicating with a P ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7e-3SSL shared libraries ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxi6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System Input extension li ii sylpheed-claws-i18n 1.0.4-1 Locale data for Sylpheed Claws (i1 ii xlibs4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#298377: capplets: Attempting to set "File Types and Programs" fails: gnome-file-types-properties no such file or directory

Hmmm, OK, maybe my bug is misnamed. If this facility was removed in 2.8, then the 2.8 packages didn't clean it out from my existing GNOME installation when they were installed, which I would naively have expected . . . >> At present, this seems to make it impossible to set applications >> for mime types. > > Just right-click on the file and go to the preferences, there's a tab > for defining the default application. Is this really the only way to do it now? If so, then I guess I should go to gnome.org and file a wishlist bug. This approach doesn't work for my case: where the file is a download from a link on a website. The only possibility would be to choose 'Save' rather than 'Open', and *then* bring up Nautilus and right-click on the file, which is pretty Rube-Goldberg-ish. Is it really the case that there is no longer any other way to set applications for mime types? Bug#298377: capplets: Attempting to set "File Types and Programs" fails: gnome-file-types-properties no such file or directory
Package: capplets Version: 1:2.8.1-4 Severity: normal I'm tracking GNOME in Sarge. I have packages gnome and gnome-desktop-environment installed, so I should have everything needed. When attempting to open a .doc file today, suddenly, the only option available is AbiWord. I wanted to put oowriter back on the list of options for .doc files, so I headed off to Desktop Preferences --> Advanced --> File Types and Programs. Doing so generates an error window stating "Cannot launch entry / Details: Failed to execute child process `gnome-file-types-properties' (No such file or directory)' A quick check on p.d.o shows no package in testing or unstable containing such a program. At present, this seems to make it impossible to set applications for mime types. -c -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.26.040705a Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages capplets depends on: ii capplets-data1:2.8.1-4 configuration applets for GNOME 2 ii gnome-control-center 1:2.8.1-4 The GNOME Control Center for GNOME ii gnome-desktop-data 2.8.1-2 Common files for GNOME 2 desktop a ii gnome-icon-theme 2.8.0-1 GNOME Desktop icon theme ii gnome-panel 2.8.2-2 launcher and docking facility for ii gnome-session2.8.1-5 The GNOME 2 Session Manager ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libasound2 1.0.8-1 ALSA library ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libaudiofile00.2.6-5 Open-source version of SGI's audio ii libbonobo2-0 2.8.1-2 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.8.1-1 The Bonobo UI library ii libc62.3.2.ds1-20GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libeel2-22.8.2-1 Eazel Extensions Library (for GNOM ii libesd-alsa0 [libesd0] 0.2.35-2Enlightened Sound Daemon (ALSA) - ii libfontconfig1 2.2.3-4 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.1.7-2.3 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgail-common 1.8.2-1 GNOME Accessibility Implementation ii libgail171.8.2-1 GNOME Accessibility Implementation ii libgconf2-4 2.8.1-4 GNOME configuration database syste ii libgcrypt11 1.2.0-4 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libglade2-0 1:2.4.2-1 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.6.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-desktop-2 2.8.1-2 Utility library for loading .deskt ii libgnome-keyring00.4.1-1 GNOME keyring services library ii libgnome2-0 2.8.0-6 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-02.8.0-1 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomeui-0 2.8.0-3 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 2.8.3-11The GNOME virtual file-system libr ii libgnutls11 1.0.16-9GNU TLS library - runtime library ii libgpg-error01.0-1 library for common error values an ii libgstreamer-plugins0.8- 0.8.7-3 Various GStreamer libraries and li ii libgstreamer0.8-00.8.8-1 Core GStreamer libraries, plugins, ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.2-3 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libhowl0 0.9.8-2 Library for Zeroconf service disco ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg626b-9The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libmetacity0 1:2.8.8-1 Common library of lightweight GTK2 ii libnautilus2-2 2.8.2-2 libraries for nautilus components ii liborbit21:2.10.5-0.1libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpango1.0-01.8.0-3 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpopt0 1.7-5 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System Session Management ii libstartup-notification0 0.8-1 library for program launch feedbac ii libtasn1-2 0.2.10-3Manage ASN.1 structures (runtime) ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxft2 2.1.2-6 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxklavier8 1.03-1 X Keyboard Extension high-level AP ii libxml2 2.6.16-2GNOME XML library ii libxrandr2 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Wind
Bug#297167: bygfoot: 1.8 versions NOT save game compatible with 1.6 versions; should be made more clear?
Package: bygfoot Version: 1.8.0-1 Severity: wishlist The 1.8.x versions of bygfoot are not "save" compatible with the 1.6.x versions; games saved under 1.6.x cannot be loaded and continued with 1.8.x. This is a rude surprise to find out *after* installing. It's not listed in changelog.Debian either, so apt-listchanges doesn't catch it. I suggest a news entry, like when other packages make changes that should definitely be noted by person installing. -c -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.26.040705a Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages bygfoot depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglib2.0-02.6.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.2-3 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libpango1.0-0 1.8.0-3 Layout and rendering of internatio -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
