Bug#896968: cryptsetup with luks2 not working on debian buster netinst

2018-04-26 Thread Christian Dietrich
Hi,

it looks like "af_alg" and "algif_skcipher" kernel modules are not
available in debian buster daily netinst iso.
I've also checked ubuntu bionic beaver daily netinst iso, after adding
libgcc1 everything is working as expected.
"af_alg" and "algif_skcipher" kernel modules are available
and automatically loaded.

Best
Christian

Bug#896968: cryptsetup with luks2 not working on debian buster netinst

2018-04-26 Thread Christian Dietrich
Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2.0.2-1

I'm trying to install Debian Buster to an LUKS2 encrypted partition:

cryptsetup luksFormat /dev/sda1 -> works
cryptsetup --type=luks2 luksFormat /dev/sda1 -> "libgcc_s.so.1 must be
installed for pthread_cancel to work"

after manually installing "libgcc1" (libgcc_s.so.1):

cryptsetup --type=luks2 luksFormat /dev/sda1 -> works
cryptsetup --type=luks2 open /dev/sda1 crypt -> doesnt work (nothing
shows up at /dev/mapper/)

Bug#561688: ITP: turbotail -- drop-in replacement for tail, using FAM for following files

2009-12-19 Thread Christian Dietrich
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Christian Dietrich

* Package name: turbotail
  Version : 0.3
  Upstream Author : Folkert van Heusden
* URL : http://www.vanheusden.com/turbotail/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : drop-in replacement for tail, using FAM for following files

turbotail provides almost all command line options as the normal tail
from coreutils, but when following files with -f, it doesn't poll the
file every second, but uses FAM to get informed about changes at the
file.
