Bug#420871: gmail-notify: doesn't handle ampersands ('') in gmail data correctly

2007-11-24 Thread Cliff Cunnington
I reported bug this upstream via email to developer Juan Grande. He
responded (Nov 21 2007):

Thanks for reporting this bug! It is the first time that I receive
it.

I'm working on the new version of the notifier, so I'll take a
look to it.

Bug#420871: gmail-notify: doesn't handle ampersands ('') in gmail data correctly

2007-04-25 Thread Cliff Cunnington
Package: gmail-notify
Version: 1.6.1-3
Severity: normal

Gmail-notify fails to correctly handle the ampersand ('') in the
GmailAtom results, so sender and/or subject line text which include
the '' character is not being correctly displayed in the popup.

To demonstrate:

1. Send an email to your user account at Gmail either with a From line
or a Subject line containing an ampersand (). For example:

From: Laurel Hardy [EMAIL PROTECTED]
or
Subject: Testing testing

2. (Re)start gmail-notify now.

3. When '1 unread message' appears, click on button to activate popup.

4. Popup displays Gmail Notifier. Connecting ... instead of message
information.

Note: if there are other unread messages in the Gmail inbox, this
might not reproduce. Mark other messages as read to reproduce error.

Regards,

Cliff

Package: vectoroids

Vectoroids is missing a .desktop file in /usr/share/applications . Using
tuxmath.desktop as template, I have crafted one for vectoroids and attached
it. When installed this will automatically add the proper entry to a desktop

Bug#399322: epiphany-browser: hangs when trying to display local filesystem directory

2006-11-19 Thread Cliff Cunnington
Package: epiphany-browser
Version: 2.14.3-3
Severity: normal

When trying to view a local filesystem directory; it grabs near 100% CPU
resources, displays nothing and the only way to halt the process is with a
SIGKILL.

Viewing local files with the full-path (including non-existent files) works,
but a directory listing causes a hang each time. (Firefox works as expected,
if that is relevant.)

To reproduce from command line:

# hangs
epiphany file:///$HOME
# OK -- page not found
epiphany file:///$HOME/nofilehere

or enter a filesystem directory URI in the Address Entry field.

Attached is the tail end of a strace.

Oh, yes -- though I get the same thing with file://$HOME

 ...

Does it happen with all directories?

Yes -- no exceptions from what I've tried.

Perhaps there's something in your $HOME that triggers the bug?

Same result in a directory with a single file:

mkdir foo
touch foo/bar
# This works
epiphany file://$HOME/foo/bar
# but edit this URL in the address bar to file://$HOME/foo/ and press
# enter and it hangs again.

Same in file:///usr/share/doc/ , file:///etc/ . Also tried with trailing slash
removed and get the same.

I'll try the above again with the latest libxul0d (per Mike) once the mirrors
get it.
