Bug#420871: gmail-notify: doesn't handle ampersands ('') in gmail data correctly
I reported bug this upstream via email to developer Juan Grande. He responded (Nov 21 2007): Thanks for reporting this bug! It is the first time that I receive it. I'm working on the new version of the notifier, so I'll take a look to it. Cliff -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#420871: gmail-notify: doesn't handle ampersands ('') in gmail data correctly
Package: gmail-notify Version: 1.6.1-3 Severity: normal Gmail-notify fails to correctly handle the ampersand ('') in the GmailAtom results, so sender and/or subject line text which include the '' character is not being correctly displayed in the popup. To demonstrate: 1. Send an email to your user account at Gmail either with a From line or a Subject line containing an ampersand (). For example: From: Laurel Hardy [EMAIL PROTECTED] or Subject: Testing testing 2. (Re)start gmail-notify now. 3. When '1 unread message' appears, click on button to activate popup. 4. Popup displays Gmail Notifier. Connecting ... instead of message information. Note: if there are other unread messages in the Gmail inbox, this might not reproduce. Mark other messages as read to reproduce error. Same result in a directory with a single file: mkdir foo touch foo/bar # This works epiphany file://$HOME/foo/bar # but edit this URL in the address bar to file://$HOME/foo/ and press # enter and it hangs again. Same in file:///usr/share/doc/ , file:///etc/ . Also tried with trailing slash removed and get the same. I'll try the above again with the latest libxul0d (per Mike) once the mirrors get it. Cliff
