Dear all, I have had the same issue after the last update. I managed to corner the problem finding that the *.desktop file call freecad with the --single-instance option and freecad does not recognise it. This option is added by the run_single-instance patch (see 1:). The issue arises because the new 0.20.2 does not seem to recognise the option anymore. The snap install of the same version does recognise the option so I should now compare the two sources (debianised sources and upstream) but run out of time. Anybody interested in investigating about this issue is welcome :)
Cheers ! 1: http://salsa.debian.org/science-team/freecad/-/blob/debian/0.20.2+dfsg1-3/debian/patches/run_single-instance.patch On Sat, 28 Jan 2023 19:21:38 +0100 Eric Streit <e...@yojik.eu> wrote: > Package: freecad > Version: 0.20.2+dfsg1-3 > Severity: normal > X-Debbugs-Cc: e...@yojik.eu > > Dear Maintainer, > > *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** > > * What led up to the situation? > I upgraded Freecad today (28/01/2023), and it's not posible to launch > the program anymore from the gnome launcher. > * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or > ineffective)? > I was able to launch it from the terminal. > * What was the outcome of this action? > It worked. > * What outcome did you expect instead? > > *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** > > > -- System Information: > Debian Release: bookworm/sid > APT prefers testing > APT policy: (500, 'testing') > Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) > Foreign Architectures: i386 > > Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads; PREEMPT) > Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set > Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash > Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) > LSM: AppArmor: enabled > > Versions of packages freecad depends on: > ii freecad-python3 0.20.2+dfsg1-3 > > Versions of packages freecad recommends: > pn calculix-ccx <none> > ii graphviz 2.42.2-7+b3 > > Versions of packages freecad suggests: > pn povray <none> > > -- no debconf information > >
