Bug#922098: RFE: matrix-synapse.service should have ExecReload

2019-02-11 Thread Damjan Georgievski
Package: matrix-synapse
Version: 0.99.0-1

According to the 0.99 release info
(https://github.com/matrix-org/synapse/releases/tag/v0.99.0) synapse
now uses the HUP signal to reload certificates:
> Synapse will now reload TLS certificates from disk upon SIGHUP. (#4495, #4524)

So the matrix-synapse.service unit file should include a reload directive:
`ExecReload=/bin/kill -HUP $MAINPID`

I had the same issue on X1 Carbon (5th gen)

you need to load the » rmi_smbus « module before loading psmouse

Bug#789596: php5-redis 2.2.5-1 stable causes segfault in php5-fpm - fix available in 2.2.7

2015-07-31 Thread Damjan Georgievski
Package: php5-redis
Version: 2.2.5-1
Followup-For: Bug #789596

I can confirm the segfault with 2.2.5 - I compiled 2.2.7 from source and the
segfaults disappeared.

In my case I'm using uwsgi with uwsgi-plugin-php with a fairly big php app that
does a lot of
redis activity. The segfaults were a lot more frequent when the redis cache was
empty.

Here's one more report of the same segfault

Bug#773612: network-manager: No valid IPv4 config information received (pptp), after connection established

2014-12-20 Thread Damjan
Package: network-manager
Version: 0.9.10.0-4
Severity: important
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

Cannot establish VPN with pptp - any of the setting lead to the same result
(default/split route, only resources..., automatic DNS). However, these
settings do work on Ubuntu 12.04.

After pptp connection is established, NM refuses to add IPv4 settings, noting:
unspecific failure

Bug#741121: gnome-settings-daemon: no background image (white screen), background settings corrupted

2014-03-08 Thread Damjan
Package: gnome-settings-daemon
Version: 3.8.5-2
Severity: normal
Tags: d-i

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
upgrade/update of jessie

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
after an update and reboot, I've noticed there is not background (never set any
picture instead). Background is lost on any account using gnome-shell (3.8)

   * What was the outcome of this action?
White scree. At the boot, "smaller desktop animated to grow is shown", but
after the animation background is lost immediately.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Default Debina Gnome-shell background.

Bug#695961: It boots in graphics mode

2013-04-08 Thread Damjan Zemljič
After installing Wheezy RC1, Aspire One 725 boots in GNOME (fallback
option) by default. No tweaks needed.

Bug#695961: workaround

2012-12-15 Thread Damjan Zemljič
Adding "nomodeset" to boot command line (within /etc/default/grub) solves
the boot problem.

Bug#695961: boot after installation on Acer Aspire One 725 fails

2012-12-14 Thread Damjan Zemljič
Package: installation-reports

Boot method: USB
Image version:
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/wheezy_di_beta4/amd64/iso-cd/debian-wheezy-DI-b4-amd64-CD-1.iso
Date: 14. 12. 2012

Machine: Acer Aspire One 725
Processor: AMD C-70
Memory: 4 GB
Partitions: / and /home

Output of lspci -knn (or lspci -nn): NA

Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot: [O]
Detect network card:[O]
Configure network: [E]
Detect CD: [O]
Load installer modules: [O]
Detect hard drives: [O]
Partition hard drives: [O]
Install base system:[O]
Clock/timezone setup: [E]
User/password setup:[O]
Install tasks: [O]
Install boot loader:[O]
Overall install:[E]

Comments/Problems:
Configure network:
- recognition of Ethernet and WLAN card is correct. LAN card would
need non-free firmware (not offered since not found on net - not
invested much time in that).
- WLAN installed, WEP authentication passed, IP assigned, setup of LAN
via DHCP failed! (in another try WLAN was configured manually, but it
didn't work either).

Clock/timezone setup:
- fails because of missing network connection, manual setup not offered (?)

Overall install:
- touchpad works only in first few screens (had to try how many actually)
- after installation is finished and system reboots, grub is started,
OS selected, boot process starts, after /dev filesystem is populated,
screen gets corrupted (no matter whether desktop packages are selected
during the installation or not) and system hangs. System is
unresponsive to any key.

Bug#685222: system installed with LVM & XFS fails to reboot, unix module is missing

2012-08-18 Thread Damjan Zemljič
Package: installation-reports

Boot method: installation from CD
Image version: debian-wheezy-DI-b1-amd64-CD-1.iso
Date: 17.8.2012 2pm

Machine:IBM Thinkpad W510, but installed in VirtualBox (4.1.18) as a guest,
default settings
Processor: only one core assigned
Memory: 4 GB assigned
Partitions: default LVM scheme with partitions and encryption proposed in
the graphic installer. However, all filesystems except swap (of course)
were changed to XFS.

Output of lspci -knn (or lspci -nn):

Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot: [E ]
Detect network card:[ ]
Configure network: [ ]
Detect CD: [ ]
Load installer modules: [ ]
Detect hard drives: [ ]
Partition hard drives: [ ]
Install base system:[ ]
Clock/timezone setup: [ ]
User/password setup:[ ]
Install tasks: [ ]
Install boot loader:[ ]
Overall install:[ ]

Comments/Problems:
During the installation of the Debian Beta 1 as a VirtualBox guest (18GB
disk allocated for it), default settings are accepted, except:
- locale US, keyboard Slovenian (SI),
- LVM with proposed partitions and encryption is chosen, but all filesystem
types changed to XFS

After installation is finished and reboot is proposed, reboot fails.
Screenshot is attached.

Another thing I've spotted is the size of a swap proposed - less than 1GB
(having 4GB of RAM). Shouldn't that be at least 4GB (how is hibernation
done)?

Bug#333426: close (not a bug)

2005-10-30 Thread Damjan Zemljic
Hi,
bug reported is not a bug. I somehow forgot to update certificate on Debian
machine and on Windows this was done (don't remember when). Exporting
certificate from Win to Linux and it works now.

Sorry for inconvenience,
Damjan
