Bug#867552: corebird: Corebird trap after succesful authorization

2017-07-07 Thread Daniel Franganillo
Package: corebird
Version: 1.5-1
Severity: important

Corebird segfaults after initialization.

Settings schema 'org.baedert.corebird' does not contain a key named
'media-visibility'

Even though:

#~ cat /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.baedert.corebird.gschema.xml | grep
media-

I tried reseting the schema with: dconf reset -f /org/baedert/ with no luck.

Thanks.

Bug#659124: [Pkg-ayatana-devel] Bug#659124: notify-osd: Does not provide Notification-daemon

2012-02-09 Thread Daniel Franganillo
Hi,
thanks for the fast response.
I'm having problems with a few packages which depend on a notification-daemon.
The applications are deluge and guake.
My setup is LXDE so I dont have a proper notification-daemon appart
from notify-osd and this update is breaking those apps.
Should I report a bug, for wrong depends, on this applications?
Thanks.

The conversation in bug #640120 led me to think that it shouldn't
provide notification-daemon. It makes sense to me that that individual
applications should not directly depend on notification-daemon, and
that it should be up to the desktop environment to depend on its
notification system of choice. As it is now, providing
notification-daemon in notify-osd wouldn't stop it from being
installed on a system that also has GNOME due to the way they have
versionized their depends. So I don't see much gain in providing it.
As things are now, notify-osd isn't really a drop in replacement for
 notification-daemon.

All that said, if anyone is having real world issues due to this, I
could re-add it. Do you have an actual use case where not providing
notification-daemon is causing you a problem?

 Thanks for the report!

Bug#618695: nvidia-kernel-source: Artifacts with 260.19.44 driver

2011-03-23 Thread Daniel Franganillo
No such artifacts on 270.30 from experimental.

Thanks.

2011/3/23 Andreas Beckmann deb...@abeckmann.de:
You may want to try the 270.30-1 beta driver which should arrive in
experimental soon. Eventually nvidia already fixed these artifacts.

Otherwise the nvidia-bug-report.log.gz for both versions should be sent to
 nvidia, see http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=46678

 Hi Daniel,

this seems to be a bug in the binary driver, so we can't do anything
about it. You may want to report it directly to NVIDIA, following their
 bug reporting instructions:
 http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=46678

If you report it to NVIDIA, please drop a note here with the URL.

 Thanks

 * create a completely new user and test with that account. You may have
some broken configuration in your home. Or did you use the same home
 for ArchLinux?

Its *another* machine (hardware clone), they do not share the $HOME folder.
Anyway I'll try with another user.
I updated my laptop (nvidia 9400M, Debian SID) and have the same issues.

 * try different window managers, different themes, default settings, ...

Compiz, the same, metacity, same.

 * try different icewaesel version, disabling all plugins, ...

Its not just iceweasel. Gnome-DO, Screenlets, GoogleChrome, trayer,
avant-window-navigator have issues too.

 Andreas

I tried to remove all xorg.conf stuff and its showing the same visual glitches.
Thanks.

From which version where you upgrading? From lenny?

Does it help to uncomment the 'SSLInsecureRenegotiation on' in

Bug#593334: apache2: Upgrade to Squeeze broke Apache+TRAC+SSL setup

2010-08-17 Thread Daniel Franganillo
Subject: apache2: Upgrade to Squeeze broke Apache+TRAC+SSL setup
Package: apache2.2-common
Version: 2.2.16-1
Severity: important

Hi,
yesterday i was trying to upgrade our server to squeeze in wich wer
have an SSL+TRAC+APACHE2 service and i noticed that with the upgrade
the service was unavaliable.
There are other services running under apache as well in the same
server and they are unaffected.
Here's our configuration:

What i get on the log when someone tries to go to server.com/trac with
Firefox (our main browser) is:

As I said there are other certificate based(svn,file-browsing)
services working fine.
Another thing that strikes me is that I tried with Opera browser and
they work just fine...

Excuse me if apache2 is not the right package to be submitted, and for
my bad english.
Thanks.

Bug#593334:

2010-08-17 Thread Daniel Franganillo
Well, looking further into it i came to a workaround.
Searching the web i came to this bugreport from iceweasel
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=583337#c6
In wich states that DHE with keylength 512 is banned completey from firefox.
And who would've guessed that mod_ssl, by default in our case, will
get you a DHE-RSA-AES128-SHA cipher.
So I changed SSLCipherSuite to (YMMV):
RSA:!EXP:!NULL:+HIGH:+MEDIUM:-LOW:-MD5:-RC4
and everything got to work.
Thanks.

Bug#587404: aptitude: keeps running forever on nonassisted script

2010-06-28 Thread Daniel Franganillo
Subject: aptitude: keeps running forever on nonassisted script
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.6.1.5-3
Severity: normal

Hi,
at work we have quite a few debian stable servers updated daily with
this script via cron jobs:

#!/bin/bash

aptitude update /dev/null

TMP_FILE=/tmp/remote-update.txt

echo From: r...@server $TMP_FILE
echo To: remotead...@server $TMP_FILE
echo Subject: $(date +%e/%m/%y) $(eval hostname) status $TMP_FILE
echo $TMP_FILE
yes n | LC_ALL=C aptitude -s safe-upgrade | grep -A20 upgraded.* |
grep -v continue $TMP_FILE
echo $TMP_FILE

sendmail remotead...@server $TMP_FILE

rm -f $TMP_FILE

yes Y | aptitude -d safe-upgrade /dev/null

Its not a pretty solution but it has worked for years up until now.
We're testing some servers with the next stable (that is squeeze) and
had pointed their sources.list to squeeze
Since then the servers showed a strange behaviour during updates with
the prior script.
The line:
yes Y | aptitude -d safe-upgrade /dev/null

sometimes keeps running forever, so we have to kill the process, and
other times ends as expected.
The packages are being downloaded right so we dont know whats exactly doing.
Thanks.

Bug#586273:

2010-06-24 Thread Daniel Franganillo
Believe it or not, people do use Flash (Whats the web without Youtube,
or WorldCup online matches?), and having a useless package is not an
option either.

Until we find a way to workaround this (thanks to Adobe anyway...,
this issue makes me hate Flash even more) some workarounds have to be
made, and modfiyng 2.8's update-flashplugin is one perfectly valid.
Leaving that vulnerability open is a huge risk (Watch out!) but is up
to the user.

Ive made that one and, also, installed flashblock so (i hope) i could
enable flash on trusted sites only.
Thanks.

Nspluginwrapper could be an option too, a more secure one indeed, but
in my experience it fails to render flash on many sites (the gray box

 Hi Daniel,

I'd be willing to write a documentation as I have tested plymouth on

I suggest one single manpage called plymouth describing the most

If you're interested in help, let me know.

Note: see also the FAQ in the source distribution.
It contains workarounds to several common problems.
In particular, if Valgrind aborted or crashed after
identifying problems in your program, there's a good chance
that fixing those problems will prevent Valgrind aborting or
crashing, especially if it happened in m_mallocfree.c.

If that doesn't help, please report this bug to: www.valgrind.org

In the bug report, send all the above text, the valgrind
version, and what OS and version you are using. Thanks.

Again, thanks for your help, even Gnome-session its broken :(

Looks like valgrind is broken on your system :( That doesn't really
 help...

Ive installed it from the official repositories...

 What's the content of your /usr/lib/lv2 , ~/.lv2 and /usr/local/lib/lv2
 directories?

That directories do not exist,

Could you attach the file log that is generated by:

Again, thanks for your help, even Gnome-session its broken :(

Dont think this will help you...

Bug#505005: Evince print

2009-04-28 Thread Daniel Franganillo
2009/4/28 Josselin Mouette j...@debian.org:

This is a known issue in GTK+, fixed in 2.14. This happens when a remote
 CUPS server is unreachable.

The CUPS server is reachable from other applications and other
machines in the same network ¿?

I guess it is possible to backport the patch to lenny, but it is a bit
 intrusive:
 http://git.gnome.org/cgit/gtk+/commit/?id=e9d978dff9f9b18eaac6c4920fb5abf7245d839d

If you can test the patch against 2.12 first, maybe we can ask the
stable release managers whether this is appropriate.

Im running SID anyway :P

 Cheers,

Ive built a vanilla kernel without kernel_scheduling enabled and the music
plays perfectly.

Bug#494457: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64: Disable PRINTK_TIME

2008-08-09 Thread Daniel Franganillo
Subject: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64: Disable PRINTK_TIME
Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64
Version: 2.6.26-2
Severity: wishlist

Please, disable printk_time on all kernel images; it causes too much bloat
on boot process and is useless to the user.
If some debuging help is needed why not create image-dbg packages as in most
important binaries?

Hi Vincent,

I'm going to check with upstream on this. Have you tried using the -i
command-line switch? In previous versions of clusterssh, this was the
appropriate way to ignore the warning.

Thanks,
Tony

Vincent Danjean wrote:

  Hi,

Due to firewalls, I use generic proxycommand in my .ssh/config.
I have something as:

Host *.fakedomain
ProxyCommand ssh fakedomain tcpconnect `basename %h .fakedomain` %p

Host fakedomain
Hostname firewall.fakedomain.org
User mylogin

This allow me to join any host 'foo' (behind the firewall) using:
ssh [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If I run 'cssh -e [EMAIL PROTECTED]', it works
If I add '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' in a tag, it does not. I got the error
message:

Hi,
ive been checking the patches added for etch3 and found that
http://us1.samba.org/samba/ftp/patches/security/samba-3.0.24-CVE-2007-2446_v2.patch
is not added.
Maybe thats the problem.

2007-05-28 Thread Daniel Franganillo

2007/5/28, Steve Langasek [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

You appear to be replying to the bug closure message
resulting from the upload of samba 3.0.25a to Debian unstable, but you
reported that you were running the version of samba from stable.

I just replied to the last message received in the bug report.

Our Gentoo boxes run flawless with the patch.

With which patch? There are several floating around, including two
different patches against 3.0.24 included in the upstream bug report. What
we really need to know is if the packages at
http://people.debian.org/~vorlon/samba/ fix this bug or not, so that we
know whether we need to use the other upstream patch for the updated
security release.

Please, read carefully my previous message.

Regards.

Bug#425680: samba: The security fix for CVE-2007-2446 broke Samba

2007-05-23 Thread Daniel Franganillo

Subject: samba: The security fix for CVE-2007-2446 broke Samba
Package: samba
Version: 3.0.24-6
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

This is a copy of a bug opened upstream. A patch is avaliable for
3.0.25 but not for 3.0.24 on etch.
It happens on i386, and alpha. 3.0.24-etch2 suffers from the bug too.

I'm using Gentoo (the stable tree) and Debian Etch. The recent update that
fixes three security bugs has broken my samba domain. I'm able to login in the
domain but when accessing the share of a machine which is not the PDC, the
sharing machine denies my access.

smbclient -L with my user against that sharig machine returns me
NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS. If I try smbclient against the PDC, the PDC returns
me the list of shares. The problem seems to be the fix for CVE-2007-2446. If I
recompile the samba package without that fix in my Gentoo boxes, the whole
domain works perfectly. The same goes for the Debian machines, if I downgrade
the version to the non fixed.

Gentoo: Samba 3.0.24-r2
Debian: 3.0.24-6etch1

The log on the sharing machine:
[2007/05/18 11:29:36, 0] auth/auth_domain.c:domain_client_validate(246)
domain_client_validate: unable to validate password for user rafa in domain
CRIPTODOMINIO to Domain controller DILMUN. Error was NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL.

2007-05-23 Thread Daniel Franganillo

Hi,
I opened the bug just because upstream didnt offered a solution or
patch for the 3.0.24 branch.
And I have to point (again) that im using etch (stable) in about 5
machines, and all of them right now are vulnerable to the CVE's.

If I update samba to 3.0.24-etch{1,2} I can surely say goodbye to my
monthly income :)

Subject: libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0: No cdda support
Package: libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0
Version: 0.10.10-2
Severity: normal

Even if libcdda is included, cdda is not working. Every tested
gstreamer based audio player
(rhythmbox, sound-juicer and gnome-cd) cant play any audio cd.

Behaviours:
Rhythmbox: hangs when it detects an audiocd.
Sound-juicer: quite extrange, it can retrieve from cddb the info of
the cd to be played but when it comes to play it just throws an This
CD has no audio tracks dialog ¿?
Gnome-cd: throws Error:could not open cd

Ive tried another gstreamer0.10 based distros (like ubuntu, and
gentoo) and they worked flawlesly whith the same player. I even tried
with the experimental packages with no luck :(

Contact me if there is anything i can do to help you track this bug.

Thanks,
