Bug#832088: sed: silently fails with -n option specified first

2016-07-22 Thread Daniel Iancu
Package: sed
Version: 4.2.2-4+b1
Severity: normal

Sed silently fails when -n option is specified first and leaves
the file blank. Thus resulting in the loss of the file contents.
Example:
# cd /tmp
echo 'foo' > test
sed -ni 's/foo/bar/' test # fails

echo 'foo' > test
sed -in 's/foo/bar/' test # works

Bug#763422: phpmyadmin: Failed to load /etc/phpmyadmin/config-db.php

2014-09-30 Thread Daniel Iancu
Package: phpmyadmin
Version: 4:3.4.11.1-2+deb7u1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I have this line over and over in the web server logs:
phpmyadmin: Failed to load /etc/phpmyadmin/config-db.php

I checked the permissions on config-db.php
and it's owned by root:www-data with permissions -rw-r-.

So it's very clearly that it has access.

I also su www-data cat /etc/phpmyadmin/config-db.php without
problems.

I have no idea why this is happening.

Also, upon logging in, I receive this red banned with the message:
The configuration file now needs a secret passphrase (blowfish_secret).

I have checked /var/lib/phpmyadmin and blowfish_secret.inc.php exists.

Note: I'm running phpmyadmin from Nginx web server
  with root in /usr/share/phpmyadmin.

Bug#762786: gdm3: Can't exclude users from login list

2014-09-25 Thread Daniel Iancu
Package: gdm3
Version: 3.4.1-8
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

First of all I tried editing /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf.
At the [greeter] section I placed:

[greeter]
IncludeAll=false
Include=myuser

To only include myuser.

dpkg-reconfigure dm3
service gdm3 restart

And I'm presented with the same login list (all the users)

Then:

[greeter]
IncludeAll=false
Exclude=excludeduser

Same result.

And also the combination of two which gave the same result.

I also tried to change /etc/passwd and set for the users which
I didn't want to appear /bin/false as the login shell, but
that didn't work out either.

I know that if the id of the user is under 1000 it will not
get displayed, well, I can change id of the users, but that's
a bit hacky.

Bug#742192: empathy: Status remains Away after suspend/hibernate

2014-03-20 Thread Daniel Iancu
Package: empathy
Version: 3.4.2.3-2+deb7u1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I place the computer in suspend or hibernate (close the laptop lid, or from
menu), with empathy running
and status set to available. When I resume, the status is set to away. I have
tested this on other
computers/laptops and the same thing happens.

It's really annoying, because you can't know if the person is really away, or
it's just empathy
who forgot to change the status. Placed in a environment where chat is
needed, makes empathy
unusable.

I'm runnging the latest stable version of empathy on Debian Wheezy (with latest
updates).
