Bug#838164: New upstream from the git repository
Hey, I have very limited time this time of year but. What I propose to do is to package the profanity without splitting it to sub packages. This means that Jack's work will go for nothing, so Jack if you are ok with it I can do it. Ofc this will be uploaded as your NMU. When stretch is there we can split the package as you proposed. I am DD but can't sponsor you because my key expired. Some comments: - this is ITP bug so in d/changelog you should have one entry. with one version, with Initial release and (Closes: #). - in your patch there seems to be some UTF problem in the From: - can you push pristine tar branches to the git ? I can't build it. In d/control, the passage is not needed, options, arguments have place in a man page. "When given the -d option, duperemove will submit those extents for deduplication using the btrfs-extent-same ioctl."

Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Dariusz Dwornikowski <dariusz.dwornikow...@cs.put.poznan.pl> * Package name: saws Version : 0.3.2 Upstream Author : Martin Donne <donne.mar...@gmail.com> * URL : https://github.com/donnemartin/saws * License : Apache 2.0 Programming Lang: Python Description : A Supercharged AWS Command Line Interface SAWS is an enhancement of the AWS (Amazon Web Services) CLI. Although the AWS CLI is a great resource to manage your AWS-powered services, it is quite hard to remember usage of 50+ top-level commands, 1400+ subcommands and many of their specific options. SAWS aims to improve ease of use of awscli and by that increase your productivity. One of the strengths of SAWS is that it uses AWS CLI so it is always compatible with the official CLI application.

Also, wouldn't it be better to package ryu inside the OpenStack packaging team in Alioth, rather than packaging it alone? You can set, for instance, on mouse wheel to navigate images, but you get zoom image instead, etc. On the previous version everything works just fine I can't seem to reproduce this problem on my two computers. Is it still occurring ? Yes, it happens all the time. It looks like the On double click option is completely ignored when I set On mouse wheel to Zoom image, I mean, no matter what is set in On double click, it doesn't change the behavior when I double click -- all of the three options that I can set just maximize the image. When I start playing with the On mouse wheel option and set it to Navigate images, then the behavior of On double click changes, but not to the one that is selected in its field. When I set the On mouse wheel option to Scroll image up/down and the other option to Switch zoom modes, then after double click, the next image is shown, so it looks like this works as Navigate images, but it's not set at all. There's many combinations I can get by playing with the two options, but when I installed the previous version of viewnior then everything was just fine, so clearly something is wrong with the newest version. Hi Siyan, I am forwarding you a bug in viewnior that was discovered by Mikhail. Above is a detailed description by Mikhail, I can also confirm this behavior. The application’s structure and configuration are held in a single place, which makes spinning up applications simple and repeatable everywhere. .SH OPTIONS .TP \fB\-f\fR, \fB\-\-file\fR FILE Specify an alternate compose file (default: docker\-compose.yml) .TP \fB\-p\fR, \fB\-\-project\-name\fR NAME Specify an alternate project name (default: directory name) .TP \fB\-\-verbose\fR Show more output .TP \fB\-v\fR, \fB\-\-version\fR Print version and exit .SH COMMANDS .SS build Build or rebuild services .TP \fB\-\-no\-cache\fR Do not use cache when building the image. .SS help Displays help and usage information on a command. .SS kill Forces running containers to stop by sending a SIGKILL signal. .TP \fB\-s\fR SIGNAL SIGNAL to send to the container. Default signal is SIGKILL. .SS logs View output from containers. .TP \fB\-\-no\-color\fR Produce a monochrome output. .SS port Print the public port for a port binding .TP \fB\-\-protocol=proto\fR Choose the 4th layer protocol, tcp or udp. Default is tcp. .TP \fB\-\-index=index\fR Index of the container if there are multiple instances of a service. Default is 1. .SS ps List containers. .TP \fB\-q\fR Only display IDs. .SS pull Pulls service images from Docker registry. .TP \fB\-\-allow\-insecure\-ssl\fR Allow insecure connections to the Docker registry. .SS restart Restart running containers. .TP \fB\-t\fR, \fB\-\-timeout\fR \fITIMEOUT\fR Specify a shutdown timeout in seconds. By default linked services will be started, unless they are already running. .TP \fB\-\-allow\-insecure\-ssl\fR Allow insecure connections to the Docker registry. .TP \fB\-d\fR Detached mode. Run container in the background, print new container name. .TP \fB\-\-entrypoint\fR \fICMD\fR Override the entrypoint of the image with \fICMD\fR. .TP \fB\-e\fR KEY=VAL Set an environment variable. Can be used multiple times. .TP \fB\-u\fR, \fB\-\-user=\fR\fIUSER\fR Run as a specific \fIUSER\fR, a username or uid. .TP \fB\-\-no\-deps\fR Do not start linked services. .TP \fB\-\-rm\fR Remove container after run. This option is ignored in the detached mode. .TP \fB\-\-service\-ports\fR Run command with the service's ports enabled and mapped to the host. .TP \fB\-T\fR Disable pseudo tty allocation. By default a tty is allocated. .SS scale Set number of containers to run for a service. Numbers are specified in the form \fBservice=num\fR as arguments. .PP .RS .nf # docker\-compose scale web=2 worker=3 .SS start Start existing containers. .SS stop Stop running containers without removing them. .TP \fB\-t\fR, \fB\-\-timeout\fR \fITIMEOUT\fR Specify a shutdown timeout in seconds. Default is 10. .SS up Build, (re)create, start and attach to containers. If there are existing containers for a service, `docker-compose up` will stop and recreate them (preserving mounted volumes with volumes-from), so that changes in `docker-compose.yml` are picked up. If you do not want existing containers to be recreated, `docker-compose up --no-recreate` will re-use existing containers. .TP \fB\-\-allow\-insecure\-ssl\fR Allow insecure connections to the Docker registry. .TP \fB\-d\fR Detached mode. Run container in the background, print new container name. .TP \fB\-\-no\-color\fR Produce a monochrome output. .TP \fB\-\-no\-deps\fR Do not start linked services. .TP \fB\-\-x\-smart\-recreate\fR Only recreate containers whose configuration or image needs to be updated. This feature is experimental. .TP \fB\-\-no\-recreate\fR If containers already exist, do not recreate them. .TP \fB\-\-no\-build\fR Do not build an image even if it is missing. .TP \fB\-t\fR, \fB\-\-timeout\fR \fITIMEOUT\fR Specify a shutdown timeout in seconds. Another option is setting the Google API Keys in the environment [1]. So, it should be enough to create a file at /etc/chromium.d that exports the keys. Bug#761636: RFS: raceintospace/1.1+dfsg1-1 [ITP]
I recall reviewing this several months back; I haven't looked at it again yet, but I remember that there were a number of issues with the package at the time that were left unfixed, most notably that the build system tries to fetch remote resources during the build itself. Has this since been fixed? It does not try to fetch anymore if the dependencies are fulffiled. Now, with the new patch they are. I could completely patch the system to even not try when there are no deps presents (some weirdo archs maybe ). Yes, the build system should _never_ try to fetch any remote resource. If build deps are unsatisfied, the result should be a FTBFS, not an attempt to fetch the missing deps during the build itself; patch the build system if you must in order to ensure this. Ok the package patched not to download libs is in git, ready to be reviewed and sponsored. -- Dariusz Dwornikowski, Institute of Computing Science, Poznań University of Technology www.cs.put.poznan.pl/ddwornikowski/ room 2.7.2 BTiCW | tel. +48 61 665 29 41 signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#762027: libircclient: libircclient segmentation fault on using ipv6 (possible security issue?)
Dear Maintainer, current upstream versions and down to 1.3 (possibly even older) versions of libircclient have an issue with ipv6 handling. When connecting to a ipv6 address it segfaults on receiving the first message from the server. It's caused by writing a sockaddr6_in into a sockaddr_in which overwrites some callback function pointers. Package: sponsorship-requests Severity: wishlist Dear mentors, I am looking for a sponsor for my package libstrophe - again. The last version was rejected because of undocumented licensing. I fixed these now, after claryfing things with FTP Masters. NOTE: the package links to OpenSSL but we choose the license to be MIT, so it is not a violation. The code is however licensed both GPL and MIT. * Package name: libstrophe Version : 0.8.6-1 Upstream Author : Jack Moffit j...@metajack.im * URL : http://strophe.im/libstrophe/ * License : MIT and GPL-3+ Section : libdevel It builds those binary packages: libstrophe-dev - Library for writing XMPP clients - development files libstrophe0 - Library for writing XMPP clients - shared library libstrophe is a minimal XMPP library written in C. It has almost no external dependencies, only an XML parsing library (expat or libxml are both supported). It is designed for both POSIX and Windows systems. I worked with libstrophe upstream past months to make it suitable for Debian. I helped them with autotools, so that shared library is built along the static one. Encouraged them to tag relases in github, and together we closed some pull requests. Libstrophe is used by profanity.im, a console XMPP client inspired by IRSSI, which I intend to pack too, this week. Bug#748321: ITP: raceintospace -- free software version of the Liftoff! board game
Dariusz Dwornikowski dariusz.dwornikow...@cs.put.poznan.pl writes: Since the package depends on physfs 2.1, which has not been release yet, we need to wait for the upstream of physfs to release 2.1 and for the package to be in Debian. For now, raceintospace is ready in pkg-games git and can go to Debian when physfs is ready. Thanks for your efforts in packaging raceintospace. I've noticed that Hedgewars used to have a similar problem, which they've solved by adding a compatibility layer for PhysFS 2.0. Using this as a starting point, I saw that only one more function had to be provided, which I backported from the 2.1 branch with some minor modifications. With the attached patch, raceintospace compiles and runs with the PhysFS library from sid. The compatibility layer checks for the version number of PhysFS, so once 2.1 is packaged, the code should automatically stop being included. Thanks for that Hendrik, I will test it and preppare a release if it is ok. The only slight drawback is that Hedgewars is GPL-2 only, so it will no longer be possible to ship raceintospace binaries as GPL-2+. But since this is only a temporary situation, I think this can be justified. Yeah I think so. On the other hand I can see that physfs is not very actively developed so we could wait a little bit. diff -ruN -x .git -x .pc raceintospace.orig/lib/CMakeLists.txt raceintospace/lib/CMakeLists.txt --- raceintospace.orig/lib/CMakeLists.txt 2014-09-13 13:54:07.680088605 +0200 +++ raceintospace/lib/CMakeLists.txt 2014-09-12 23:07:12.263649649 +0200 @@ -124,9 +124,9 @@ # I want 2.1 features, even if they're not out yet, so I made my own tarball #set (physfs_Version 2.0.3) #set (physfs_URL http://icculus.org/physfs/downloads/physfs-${physfs_Version}.tar.bz2) -set (physfs_Version 2.1.0-pre20121013) -set (physfs_URL https://s3.amazonaws.com/willglynn/physfs-${physfs_Version}.tgz) -set (physfs_Dir ${CMAKE_CURRENT_BINARY_DIR}/physfs-${physfs_Version}) +#set (physfs_Version 2.1.0-pre20121013) +#set (physfs_URL https://s3.amazonaws.com/willglynn/physfs-${physfs_Version}.tgz) +#set (physfs_Dir ${CMAKE_CURRENT_BINARY_DIR}/physfs-${physfs_Version}) # physfs 2.0.3 complains about FSPathMakeRef et al being deprecated, and warnings are treated as errors # Turn it back into a warning instead @@ -134,14 +134,14 @@ set (physfs_Flags -Wno-error=deprecated-declarations) endif (APPLE) -ExternalProject_Add(ext_physfs - DOWNLOAD_DIR ${CMAKE_CURRENT_BINARY_DIR}/downloads - URL ${physfs_URL} - PREFIX ${physfs_Dir} - CMAKE_ARGS -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:PATH=${LocalPrefix} -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_7Z=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_GRP=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_WAD=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_HOG=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_MVL=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_QPAK=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_ISO9660=false -DPHYSFS_HAVE_CDROM_SUPPORT=false -DPHYSFS_BUILD_SHARED=false -DPHYSFS_BUILD_TEST=false -DCMAKE_C_FLAGS=${physfs_Flags} - ) +#ExternalProject_Add(ext_physfs +# DOWNLOAD_DIR ${CMAKE_CURRENT_BINARY_DIR}/downloads +# URL ${physfs_URL} +# PREFIX ${physfs_Dir} +# CMAKE_ARGS -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:PATH=${LocalPrefix} -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_7Z=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_GRP=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_WAD=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_HOG=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_MVL=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_QPAK=false -DPHYSFS_ARCHIVE_ISO9660=false -DPHYSFS_HAVE_CDROM_SUPPORT=false -DPHYSFS_BUILD_SHARED=false -DPHYSFS_BUILD_TEST=false -DCMAKE_C_FLAGS=${physfs_Flags} +# ) -add_dependencies(libs ext_physfs) +#add_dependencies(libs ext_physfs) ### diff -ruN -x .git -x .pc raceintospace.orig/src/game/CMakeLists.txt raceintospace/src/game/CMakeLists.txt --- raceintospace.orig/src/game/CMakeLists.txt2014-09-13 13:54:07.684088605 +0200 +++ raceintospace/src/game/CMakeLists.txt 2014-09-13 13:05:05.191946197 +0200 @@ -55,6 +55,7 @@ news_suq.cpp options.cpp pace.cpp + physfscompat.cpp place.cpp port.cpp prefs.cpp diff -ruN -x .git -x .pc raceintospace.orig/src/game/file.cpp raceintospace/src/game/file.cpp --- raceintospace.orig/src/game/file.cpp 2014-09-13 13:54:07.688088605 +0200 +++ raceintospace/src/game/file.cpp 2014-09-12 23:15:22.191673360 +0200 @@ -4,6 +4,7 @@ #include stdexcept #include file.h +#include physfscompat.h #define m_phys_handle ((PHYSFS_File*)m_handle) diff -ruN -x .git -x .pc raceintospace.orig/src/game/filesystem.cpp raceintospace/src/game/filesystem.cpp --- raceintospace.orig/src/game/filesystem.cpp2014-09-13 13:54:07.688088605 +0200 +++ raceintospace/src/game/filesystem.cpp 2014-09-12 23:32:07.607722019 +0200 @@ -8,6 +8,7 @@ #include raceintospace_config.h #include filesystem.h +#include physfscompat.h using boost::format; diff -ruN -x .git -x .pc raceintospace.orig/src/game/physfscompat.cpp raceintospace/src/game/physfscompat.cpp --- raceintospace.orig/src/game

Hi Dariusz, how are you? Please: 1. d/clean: you package doesn't build twice because the d/clean removes files only (not directories - man dh_clean). :-P I saw you are using an override in d/rules to remove files. Why you need a d/clean? I fixed that, now it is onlu in d/rules. I use git-buildpackage, my build area is in a different place, so for me the package always built cleanly twice. 2. d/control: in short descriptions, remove the program name and put each designation between brackets. My suggestion: Description: defined networking framework (Python libs) Description: defined networking framework (ryu binary) Description: defined networking framework (docs) Great advice, I followed it. You can change it. 3. d/copyright: - debin? :-D - Please, review all source code carefully. I didn't see the 'Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation' in your d/copyright. Yes, I updated the copyright, also did som clarification on a weird license I encoutered inside on debian-legal@ [1]. 4. d/docs: I think that this file is a mistake because you created the python-ryu-doc.docs. Am I wrong? You are not wrong mister :) I deleted the docs file. 5. d/ryu-bin.ryu.init: please, remove all useless lines as Add code here, if necessary, I deleted not needed comments. 6. d/ryu.conf: I think it is confused. Can you add comments to help the user? Please, adopt a format to commented lines (# with spaces or # without spaces). Did some research on this, kept only options needed to run basic ryu and commented them. I deleted options connected to OpenStack, if someone wants to run OpenStack with ryu, they should use OpenStack's doc howto do it, not ryu's. Hi! A last issue... I think that there a mistake in d/copyright. You removed the original debian/ when you generated the tarball and remade the debian/ structure. So, I think you must remove the upstream name from debian/* in d/copyright and should add a d/README.source to explain about the original debian/ remotion. I will wait your opinion. I will leave them there because some of things they have done I kept. I think that explaining removal of debian/ is not neccessary. It is generally done out of the box by git-import-orig anyways. But personally I think it does not hurt, I added the explanation as you suggested. Hi Johannes, Thanks for your work, but I think that your package should go to contrib, because in order to work it needs HoMM game, so it depends on something non free [1]. Installation instruction from upstream's web page clearly state that you need to install Heroes data files [2] I also found info on this game on Debian Games suggested games website [3] stating the above. I am CCing the Debian Games list too. The original program is installing libirc_options.h, libircclient.h, libirc_errors.h, libirc_rfcnumeric.h and libirc_events.h. Good catch, super thanks. I added installing of other header files. I made patch because the legacy build system builds only one .so file, and I was advised on #debian-mentors that it is better to patch build system than to make symlinks for ldconfig in d/rules. 7. The upstream site has lot[3] of instructions about the library. I suggest you create a README.Debian with notice about it. Bug#757761: openvswitch-switch: Please include ovsk-controller
Source: openvswitch Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, Tomasz Buchert and I are working on introducing mininet, an SDN emulator (http://mininet.org/) to Debian. Mininet heavily depends on ovsk to provide OpenFlow switch but also an OpenFlow controller. Ovsk starting from version 2.1 ships ovsk-controller as test-controller and resides in tests/ directory of the main source. From the NEWS of ovsk source: - ovs-controller has been renamed test-controller. It is no longer packaged or installed by default, because too many users assumed incorrectly that ovs-controller was a necessary or desirable part of an Open vSwitch deployment. We ask you to ship this binary in the package, maybe a good solution would be to do it similarly to Ubuntu, https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvswitch/2.1.2-0ubuntu3 Whatever name you choose for this binary, we would need to patch mininet to find it in $PATH. -- Dariusz Dwornikowski, Institute of Computing Science, Poznań University of Technology www.cs.put.poznan.pl/ddwornikowski/ room 2.7.2 BTiCW | tel. +48 61 665 29 41 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Why do you keep referring to ovs as ovsk? We have never shipped anything under that name. Forgive me for that, it is just a silly mistake on my side. Why can't mininet use a real controller instead of the useless test program from OVS? Mininet is just an emulator, using test controller from OVS makes it easy to start with and use by people who start with OpenFlow and SDNs. Using an OVS controller is one of the major options in mininet, and in fact the default behavior. You can always use external controller with - --remote option in mininet. If we ship mininet package without having OVS controller to use, we will be shipping partially unusable software. - -- Dariusz Dwornikowski, Institute of Computing Science, Poznań University of Technology www.cs.put.poznan.pl/ddwornikowski/ room 2.7.2 BTiCW | tel. +48 61 665 29 41 -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJT6QivAAoJECEac8aaew/HcIYP/iojQVnv9XxkWqVmCCmBDhA8 BvVbY9gskKXVHApPjtCfqUgABqpsusswlpyi8yLRU+uKa/Tdm28kS0Ug10igZkzT 0sVVTmfmt4gCXemwQrYVlVihBRpi86gWdCwoM/6uTJplbu3FT5346Vqc9lPK19Je zojun66mzY0rp0m0gK48Ld9o3BOaHIxj+wPrkvWljkJXMUQe0ddhM6X/5vSingdK p//6XxufMpAr8XHBIqGQ7puD36u4lHe8J+6d2u8GW0nKVt+ZkK6BRnlnAzNl5tNE CRyhrH/CKj/9EP3cZomNIjJ1XCKBzhesV+wf0Yj1qSrTXJFugzf0LBKDqFNAazFe AKlTdHuxZsf3FtNEPqYrO32msWX009SAPwhF4FisAo9cCSQgJvsNSXmoaIbdhhQ5 JwArcsJgeL2UcLUYF/RpbTnRY6rkNrn3K5wif/yNI0yzwpLgnABR9TomAdsEZryd Wir0TI1yEJAIu6BYsfXYlRhl+U8DnQE5Huat8DlJ6K2MxqUNdtjiFXmwqe5leYJI bQr8JsHYUXA2LMRNQdOXLFYhacCp/LLzboYidgOkHTC61qDS1oswjkxuxL0FG3Mf aNgNL+J+qZrRby+L+aqINrIW0iF1VWWj9c8HOp7Ih6y5B+DYDr+soyQbmoR8v6sC JTfzwhV2jOEm8DlhaVuU =2lo9 -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Package: sponsorship-requests Severity: wishlist Dear mentors, I am looking for a sponsor for my package libstrophe * Package name: libstrophe Version : 0.8.6-1 Upstream Author : Jack Moffit j...@metajack.im * URL : http://strophe.im/libstrophe/ * License : MIT Section : libdevel It builds those binary packages: libstrophe-dev - Library for writing XMPP clients - development files libstrophe0 - Library for writing XMPP clients - shared library libstrophe is a minimal XMPP library written in C. In this case “Forwarded: not-needed” would be more adequate; or even better, use “Origin: upstream”, and then you don't need Forwarded at all. Thank you for that. I didn't get answer to my question about mprotect(2): Shouldn't we run this code also on non-Linux architectures? At least on kfreebsd-amd64, heap is not executable by default, which is what this code is trying to work around. Yes, forgot to clear this. I am not sure I fully undestand. Crashme is built on all archs but this is probably not what you meant. Won't this conditional catch for kfreebsd-amd64 (defined(__FreeBSD__) compiler macro will catch it ? Nope, __FreeBSD__ is not defined on GNU/kFreeBSD, only on “true” FreeBSD systems. Here's useful piece of documentation about porting to kFreeBSD: http://glibc-bsd.alioth.debian.org/porting/PORTING (the relvant section is “Add our system name to checks here and there”) Another problem on kFreeBSD is that I get this warning: crashme.c:758:17: warning: incompatible implicit declaration of built-in function 'execlp' [enabled by default] {status = execlp(cmd,cmd,nb,arg2,nt,arg4,arg5,subprocess_ind,NULL); ^ It appears that package has been sponsored by Laszlo today, I will tackle porting problem when preparing 2.8.2 upstream release, meanwhile I will install kfreebsd vm. You mentioned earlier that 2.7 should be also uploaded to stable because of [1]. Could you please tell me, or point out a source of information, how this should be done ? Should I create a debian-stable branch and prepare a package release stable there (in changelog it should be stable instead of unstable). Or should I just use backporting procedures and upload to backports? If my supposition is correct, then this is a grave bug, and after it's fixed in unstable, it should be also fixed in stable and oldstable. I've filed it as #749816. Thanks. * Paul Wise p...@debian.org, 2014-05-27, 08:43: On Tue, May 27, 2014 at 1:07 AM, Dariusz Dwornikowski wrote: I can fix this when I am given DM rights to crashme. Nothing about stable/oldstable updates requires DM rights, you can do that through your normal sponsors. Hear, hear. Just to be clear: I am absolutely not giving anyone DM permissions after a single upload. :-) Ack. Anyway, let's get back to work: Possible typos in the code and in the documentation: ntrys - ntries NTRYS - NTRIES Typo in the changelog: canonincal - canonical I fixed this by updating fix-spelling.patch. +Description: tool to test kernel stability I think s/to test/for testing/ sounds better. - them. Used to test kernel stability. + them. It is used to test kernel's stability. I don't think this use of 's is correct. As a data point, according to Google, “kernel stability” is 40 times more popular than “kernel's stability”. But I'm not a native speaker of English, so I might be saying nonsense here. If you want professional advice about your description, please ask at debian-l10n-english@ldo. I followed here Don'ssuggestion. * Added patch fixing memset transposed arguments Good catch. Please don't forget to forward the patch upstream. Laszlo caught this but the patch was backported from 2.8.2 of crashme. So technically upstream forwarded it to me. The following changes are not documented: - Upstream-Contact update in d/copyright; - d/crashme.install addition; - dropping d/crashme.lintian-overrides; - debian/watch update; - most of changes to d/rules; - package description updates; - README.debian update. I documented it. It should be s/debian/Debian/, BTW. (Although it's not a big deal, as debhelper conveniently renames the file for you, so you correct correct name in the binary package.) Renamed it so debhelper does not have to do it. Let's give it some rest. I didn't get answer to my question about mprotect(2): Shouldn't we run this code also on non-Linux architectures? * Copyright changed to DEP-5 This is not an accurate description of changes to the copyright file. The original copyright file was already in the DEP-5 format. Fixed that. * New maintainer (Closes: #739083) Did you get any reply from George? Yes, we talked that is why I took over the package. We have been working on crashme (he is upstream) past few weeks. * Hardening added That's not an accurate description of the change you did either. (Although enabled hardening might be a side effect of this change.) Why is override_dh_auto_build commented in debian/rules? If this code is not supposed to be run, then remove it. Why do you set CFLAGS in debian/rules? Fixed. Removed. * Spelling patch refreshed Please forward the patch upstream. There's more typos that you might want to fix: $ codespell --skip '*.patch' ./crashme.txt:26: seperate == separate ./crashme.txt:77: enviroment == environment ./crashme.html:147: exersize == exercise ./crashme.html:272: seperate == separate Did that and forwarded to codeplex issue tracker. * Bump standards to 3.9.5 Did it require any changes to packaging? Nope, fixed. * Created manpage for pddet binary I'm sorry to say that, but this manpage is not helpful. I read it twice, and still have no idea what is this program supposed to do. I found a better piece of text to put there, by upstream too. * d/rules updated to clean cleanly If you listed files to remove in debian/clean, you could avoid the override in debian/rules. You move the character through the maze while hunting for targets (cheese, by default) - the game is won once all of these targets have been picked up. Features: - Showing the amount of time and steps it has taken to play the maze (optional) - Bread crumb trail to show you where you've already been (optional) - Flag system which allows you to mark and later un-mark any square on the board - Hints that direct you to the closest target - Zooming out to see more of the maze - SVG themes (two themes come with the game) Graeme has several games in Debian already (tanglet, connectagram, peg-e, hexalate). He his a very responsive and active upstream, his code is of a high quality and I think it is worth to have his games in Debian. Hi Benny, I am not a DD, I cannot sponsor your package but here are some comments: Since it is your initial upload, the version should be -1, you bump the number only when you *release* a new package. Merge all the changes into 1.1-1 release. Other things to fix: - set homepage field in d/control to github project page - standards should be 3.9.5 - make the package depend on debhelper = 9 in d/control - when upstream releases on github, you can prepere a watch file, something like that should be sufficient: version=3 https://github.com/mkorenkov/ipad_charge/releases .*/archive/v(\d[\d\.]+)\.tar\.gz - in d/copyright you did not add years to Files: * - patches are not described according to DEP-3 [1] - what about udev rules ? are they installed ? - did you check your package with pbuilder and/or piuparts ? I asked upstream for clarification: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/help-gengetopt/2013-01/msg0.html There was no reply, yay... GPL and GFDL are not compatible, so it might be that the result is not distributable. If this is the case, then maybe the wheezy-ignore tag should not have been added. OK time to ask relicense to gnu fundation directly maybe I wrote to the upstream Author directly, let us try this channel before contacting the fundation. Please also consider running 'wrap-and-sort -s' (from devscripts) to make it easier to review changes to your build-deps (or other metadata in d/control). I think this is another way round. apt-cache show libjson-c-dev says: This is a transition package that can be safely removed once no package depend on it. The package does not build with libjson-c-dev. I always check with cowbuilder and piuparts.
