Bug#360226: lam-mpidoc: conflict/dependance on mpi-doc

2006-03-31 Thread Dave Whiteley
Package: lam-mpidoc
Version: 7.1.1-3
Severity: normal

When installing lam-mpidoc it reports that it conflicts with mpi-doc.

In the README.Debian it says:-
Man pages for the MPI function calls are currently included in the
mpich package (1.1.2-1). With newer versions of mpich, these man
pages have been split out into mpi-doc.

The mpich package is then labeled Legacy package it is safe to remove.

Bug#310869: installation-reports

2005-05-26 Thread Dave Whiteley
Package: installation-reports

Debian-installer-version: 26/05/2005
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ i386 netinstall rc3

uname -a: The result of running uname -a on a shell prompt
Linux eetemp 2.6.8-2-386 #1 Mon Jan 24 03:01:58 EST 2005 i686 GNU/Linux

Date: 26/05/2005 13:00 BST
Method: How did you install? What did you boot off? If network
  install, from where? Proxied?

Booted off CD
Network install through proxy.
Booted as linux26

Machine: Dell inspiron 2200 Laptop

Processor: Celeron M
Memory: 512
Root Device: Ide /dev/hda5IDE? SCSI? Name of device?
Root Size/partition table:

/dev/hda9 /home ext3
/dev/hda8 /usrext3
/dev/hda7 /varext3
/dev/hda6 noneswapswap

Feel free to paste the full partition
table, with notes on which partitions are mounted where.
Output of lspci and lspci -n:

Base System Installation Checklist:

Comments/Problems:

No real problems. except

When configuring X it asks for the chipset of the graphics hardware. I had to
know to use lspci to discover this information.

I then discovered it was an intel mobile chipset.

I have not yet suceeded in getting X working. I am attempting to use Ubumtu
or XOrg packages for this.

The install mirror site www.mirror.ac.uk does not work. I believe that the
mirror.ac.uk site was changed some time ago, so the addresses may well have
changed.

Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments
and ideas you had during the initial install.
